MiGs vs Corsairs

- It’s September the 10th, 1952.
And a pair of F4U-4B Corsair’s make their way across a clear North Korean skies. On board the lead plane is Captain Jesse Folmar of the Marine Fighter Attack Squadron number 312, also known as the “Checkerboards”
Folmar scans the shores as the pair fly straight into the mouth of the Taedong river. There has been a reported enemy movement on the south shores of the river mouth. However, Folmar can’t see anything out of the ordinary. That is until they are intercepted by MiG-15s ! Its an incredible story of powerful WW2 fighters vs the latest fighters of the jet age.

Hi
@@humbertostapf4632same
@@humbertostapf4632 this video is korean war (idk if you know that if you do sorry)
Ever one tell about all the battles in the world. But you tell ever small detail
The animation team is so great while the narrarator's voice is so soothing, the sound effects are way too good. I frankly dont know how these videos are free to watch. Thanks for the quality content!
DONT GIVE THEM IDEAS
Don't jinx it, I beg you
I agree
I'm sick of you all repeating the same thing again and again, say something on the story instead come on
@@michelestefanini5466 I’m one of these people but, yeah… I agree.
The characters look so realistic. I’ve been watching you for several years now, and it’s amazing how much the animations have improved.
What i really love about you guys is that you sometimes overlap your animations with real pictures of the pilotes, soldiers, sailors and other heroes.
And nothing makes me happier than to hear that said men returned home after their deployment.
that was impressive at the end, brings the animation to meet the reality, the real person, also freezing the animation at the explosion also very clever, a pivotal 'what happens next cliffhanger', you are doing some brilliant work Yarnhub thanks so much
Yes!!!! They used to do it a lot in their old videos and it really humanised the animation and story. Love it

How exactly is this relevant to this video…?
i gotta say that i've been watching yarnhub videos for quite a long time and the quality of these are absolutely incredible, those final shots where animation meets actual picture always tear me up a little, the narration also plays big part in bringing in the emotion, this is such an incredible team
The fact that that much migs couldn’t take down 2 corsairs from ww2 is crazy, they could only take down one even though they greatly outnumbered the 2 corsairs. Great video!
they simply just let the other corsair go
It’s probably the fact they were slower that saved them. Migs probably struggled with overshooting and leading them a lot
@@magpie_762 yeah but they had the option to chase the Corsair, if they did he would’ve been downed just like his wingman
Too many planes has a similar effect to too little planes
@@RookVR_ yep, they were commanded not to spread afar.
As an aviation enthusiast, this animation is amazing. The corsairs look so nice 👍
The Yarnhub production team also deserves a medal. Every video is a thrill ride that instills an emotional experience coupled with excellent animation and heartfelt narration. I sincerely hope there will someday be 1 hour episodes featuring 6 10 minute stories. I'd gladly pay to watch!!
Why produce stupid propaganda, false videos. Even the United States recognizes that the level of losses of their aircraft, especially in the early years of the Korean War, was much higher than the USSR. Couldn't win the war in the air at that time and are you trying to rewrite history now? This dastardly trick can only take place in the West to fool its citizens.
Your animation has hit another level again! From 2D, to a nice 3D, and now this.
Imagine losing to a plane from ww2 as a jet fighter
Lol
War Thunder be like (usually pain)
As a flying jet fighter. Not stationary like that one time with those North Korean Po-2s.
Skill issue
Me: How?
War thunder: it make sense because yes
I stop watchig for 1 month and the animation quality went to movie-like realism
really cool :)
Many aviation fans in South Korea know about him and are told like legends! We also know that during the Korean War, the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps pilots relied more on courage than on the performance of the aircraft. Their courage saved many of my grandparents.

Love the slowmo with the shells/ bullets in the vids can’t wait to see more
Like others have said, I LOVE when you guys end the video overlaying an actual picture of the person(s) with the animation. Please do more of that when you can!
shows how good their models are too
Shows how real the story is too
The Corsair is my all time favorite flying machine. Just because they are old doesn't mean they can't deliver a whooping.
2:56 That was really clean, you can tell when the animator is having fun with his work
Holy cow the animation quality! I remember back when when the animations were semi 2d. The quality has somehow, gotten even better that I thought possible!
This is something I’d see on TV. Beautiful work, I love how the control surfaces move.
Telling stories with the 3D-Animation is a good way to make it more touchable. Very well done !
I have nothing to comment but I will do it anyway
Underrated, 5 likes in 1 minute lol
Lol
Understandable have a nice day
Thats the spirit
Same
The graphics. are really getting better, awesome work guys.
The Corsairs had trouble getting speed that day due to the immense balls of the Marine Pilots flying them. Glad they survived.
That's some great dogfighting sequence right there! Love your graphical improvements yarnhub!

Alright now you're just showing off your amazing animation skills.
Very impressive.
“When i first time seen jet plane, 𝖎 shoot it down.”
Grate video,thx for your work!
I’ve wanted you guys to cover this story for a while, so glad you did!
Great story with a great ending. As a Poser user I can appreciate your awesome animation skills. Well Done.
These animations are getting better everyday keep it up yarnhub
The "Checkerboards" are indeed Talented Ones, to be able to atleast keep up with a Jet Powered MiG-15s in a Piston Engine WW2 Fighter Eqquipted with Old Techonology, Respect❤🙏🏻☝️🤜🏾
Each time the visuals become better and better and you just keep getting surprised! Amazing work, keep it up!
Great action. AS a Marine flyer myself I can appreciate this video all the more. Semper Fi!
Just like P-51s vs ME-262s, don’t underestimate the power of prop driven warbirds!
or rather its turning radius
But we are talking F4u4 Coursairs and Mig 15s rather than whatever you said.
@@JeffreyWilliams-dr7qe Other than the 6-50 caliber machine guns replaced with 4-20mm cannons, what was different about these Corsairs than the WWII era Corsairs?
@captain_commenter8796 No comparison and some Sarcasm. Thanks!
We usually just followed the ME-262s home
These animations are getting better and better I am blown away by how far you guys have come this is my favorite channel on RUclips and this is why because of your amazing animations and fantastic story telling
Also can you please do a modern video there are so many good stories that you guys can use but I’m not telling you what to do becuase you guys do amazing already
RUclips wont allow us to monetize the modern stuff... maybe if we did a kickstarter...
@@Yarnhub awww🥺🥺 but but you guys do so good and you would kill it but I would 100 percent put money to this 100 percent
You people could be watching Rocky and Bullwinkle it wouldn't matter.
I admire the visual effects and detail. Excellent work as always.
These animations get better every time. They are just so good and make the videos really enjoyable.
Corsairs are gorgeous planes. Loved them ever since watching the Black Sheep Squadron tv show as a kid.
Loved building them as a kid.
Excellent video. The time stretching intermissions was a great touch!!!
There were the Tuskegee Airman Roscoe Brown, who used his Redtail P-51 to shoot down an Me262.
This and the Korean War conflict showed that sometimes the maneuvering is more important than speed.
Touche' (smile)

I am 91 Korean War Vet USAF First Shoran Beacon Squadron - Ground Radio Opp Guided B29 and A26 to Target - We were a small Secret squadron stationed with the 1st Marine Air Group -1st MAG - For Protection - We Used Radio and Radar almost like todays "Drones" to guide the Planes - Very Accurate ! The animation team must be very proud of this amazing artwork! As a college animator student, I know how hard it was to do.
Yarnhub always impressing us with their histories and their beautiful animation!
I would love to suggest the amazing history of Danino Marques Moura, a Brazilian pilot who was shooted down in February 1945 in Treviso, Italy, by the Germans and, wounded, had to cross almost 400km (250 miles) for more than one month behind the enemy lines to reach the allied city of Pisa, where it was the Brazilian Air Force base
i have whatched all of your videos and exitedly wait for new ones. You are with out a dout the best history youtuber
I love your music in these videos it fits the emotions and story too. Well done
Dude, the production value on these video is getting absolutely sick!!
Today is a good day since YARNHUB POSTED A NEW ANIMATION VIDEO!!
Can you guys do a video abt the bataan death march?
The animations have improved so much! Keep up the amazing work
Yarnhub videos are the best as always 💯
This video was one of the best so far. The only critique point I got is the sound the of the cannons. I’m pretty sure that a 37mm cannon sounds mightier than machine guns
We Love all of your videos yarnyub!!! SO MUCH!!! Thank you for making us these videos!!!!
HooRah Semper Fi!.....I've heard of this story many years ago. And Yarnhub, you just did a splendid job of not only telling it, your video animation is just wonderful. You again have put a smile on my face.
Thank-you.
Yarnhub has gotten better with capturing the action
Nice nice! New stories and a new way of putting yourself in their shoes! 10/10 Yarnhub!
Great job telling a great story!
Very nice! My day always gets better when yarnhub uploads.
This animation is superb and beautiful.
the animations keep getting better and better every video, I loved the slow-mo scenes!
Damn, the animations are getting better yarnhub! Can't wait for the next video!!
Thanks for this documentary about captain Jesse Folmar. You really put a lot of effort into making this video so thank you for your hard work. (and also the Vought F4U Corsair is my favorite aircraft)
your animations are getting better every video, good job yarnhub crew
The animation is getting better and better with every video
I swear every new video you produce the animation just keeps getting better. I’m betting it’s going to be Hollywood quality by the new year
The animations are improving!
Man, how the animation evolved is just amazing.
Very ironic how a MiG was shot because of a Corsair that was essentially outdated!
EDIT: Nice animations your team did! I appreciate your hard work! It is amazing how a 8 min video has such nice animations!
It still amazes that prop planes could beat a Jet fighter. Amazing work as always Yarnh
ub!
A jet has to slow down to turn and a prop fighter has a better turn radius than a jet.
You could argue that prop aircraft still have their place in modern air combat?? They usually have a better turn radius than a jet, plus the engines don't produce enough heat for missiles to seek onto.
What an amazing video! Beautiful storytelling along with animation, truly one of the, if not the best, military channels!
Another magnificent video, Yarnhub!
Very similar tactic that the Harrier pilots used in the Falklands war against the Mirage ( very skilled and brave pilots on both sides) they turned up the downward jet pods into a horizontal position and were used as a brake
misiles are different if the corsairs had not dropped their missles in this fight more migs would have bought it
Typical “balanced” War Thunder game.
The F-4U is the most romantic airframe in aviation history.
Excellent story and animation! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
dont have words your videos are amazing
Thank you for the daily war videos Yarnhub you really put in the work!
Great video! Shooting down a jet with a prop is a massive achievement
these animations have motivated me to start animating as well! thank you for inspiring me!
We need this guy and his team for teaching history class with their project
when planes from ww2 beats your modern jets
To be fair, this is only seven years after WWII.
@@bkjeong4302 But ALOT happened in those 7 Years Aviation Wise
Great video with excellent graphics! Strangely enough, I just received a 1/48 scale model kit of this exact same airplane today in the mail. It has markings for Folmar's fighter. It's the Academy kit, from Korea.
These animation and storytelling is superb!
Again an awesome story that few persons knows
I love the animation, the flying physics looks ultra realistic as well as the characters. Keep on doing like that
What an incredible story. Those Corsairs were incredible airplanes.
yet another epic animated war story! you continue to outdo yourselves with each and every video
Excellent! The animation is fantastic,as are the stories told.Quite addictive.Love this channel as well as subscribed!
Yet another incredible video, Yarnhub. The animation is stunning and second to none in my books!!!!
There are many stories that you guys could cover from the Siege Of Malta, from the Pedestal Convoy, the Battle of Cape Matapan, the 3 Gladiators Faith, Hope and Charity, Adrian Warburton, George Beurling and so many others to do with the George Cross Island ^.^
6:03 "you got a hole in your left wing!"
Ah moment
It'a Not The Plane, It's The Pilot ✈️
Not this time bro, his wing got severely damaged
Yeah, like F22 could Win against a biplane
I’ve been watching your channel since the Piggyback B-17’s and the animation has only gotten better, can’t wait for what’s to come. Keep it up!
I just love how each Yarn you guys produce have better graphics than the others! Great job!
Bro the animation quality in these videos has drastically changed from what I can last recall!
Epic vid btw👍
Ive seen this story on another channel and was wondering when u guys were going to do it. I wasn't disappointed, it looks great
The best animated recreation ive ever seen of any historic event. So refreshing to see, historical recreations- especially creative renditions are typically done poorly.
This one had a lot of the newer editions you guys have been doing to your videos that I really like. I really like when you hire voice actors even for small ones like in this It adds a level of dimension and realism helping you feel more immersed in the story. Also like to see the slow mo bullet traveling shots You guys used to do those a lot more but I can see why you cut down on them as it's probably costly in time. Great video guys keep up the awesome work! Never stop striving to progress in level of quality
