Loved VD. Still had the best mech experience. There was some gripes I had, mainly needed a few QoL improvements but the combat was much more engaging than 4A. I loved 4A too though. Fun singleplayer game. But combat was way too fast so almost any AC build didn't make a large enough difference to gameplay(with some exceptions) and as for its multiplayer, the person with the fastest reflexes would usually win. Very little strategy was needed compared to other AC games where your build made a larger difference.
Fromsoft spent all those effort on deployment animations but nobody ended up using them cuz cannons on anything other than tread legs suck Good ol fromsoft, love these guys
To be fair, Sniper canons were useful to Quads trying to ping anyone on approach, then they ditch it when the fighting starts, I've had teammates and enemies do that quite a bit back then.

I used the normal cannon category, a respectable turn rate, range and damage., on a biped. Worked well enough

I’m playing this again at the moment and have a build with a sniper cannon and bipedal legs. Good for missions where you have clear line is sight and an enemy far far away. The sniper cannon has insane zoom, so a few shots from that, ditch it and then close in to finish off if you have to 😂
The gameplay concepts of V/VD was great, and it was an amazing imo. Maybe it was pulled really badly also being not very connected with the bases given by AC4/FA
I feel like the arguably lackluster single player experience also played a big factor, considering Gen 1 up to Gen 4 had solid single player gameplay and story imo. For V and VD feels a little bit of an afterthought, still alright but you can feel that they really pushed the focus to try and get people to do multiplayer instead.
A small editing comment. The Perfect Rose is an amazing song, probably the best Armored Core Garage song ever made. I'd suggest you set your game music volume to zero and during editing overlay the song over the length of your video. Or if you want a loop, record the game audio for however as long your video is roughly then apply it for a seamless loop if audio mixing isn't your thing I guess. I love the song, and I love seeing these animations since I never got to play the game myself and it is rare AF to get :).
ACV/D is a good game but I think the biggest thing that deters players is its realism. Its not bad but most mech people like hyper fantasy super fast mechs. Rarely do you meet fans of clunky mech games.
I started with FA and I way prefer VD. I like the close combat feel, I love the variety in weapons and loadouts, the hours I can spend customizing my UNACs, I love using the environment more, and I love the heavier feel of VD, not just the animations. It feels like I’m driving something that weighs a thousand pounds, whereas FoR and 4/FA feel more like I’m just a really tall person. They’re both fun, but VD feels unique
@@nwg5 What lies? Ready stance was a thing in 5th gen, and legs that had a deploying shield added to your defenses while those heavy weapons were engaged. While engaged, you were stuck in place so using these weapons made the most sense when you weren’t the tank or scout for your party. VD has a month left on Playstation servers, go try it for yourself.
Between this, the activation of Ultimate Weapons and the unfolding animations for the weapon arms, nobody can say FROM didn't put in the labor.
While I'm not a huge V/VD fan, the animations and music have always been beautiful
AC V & VD are the most realistic mech design, which not so tall at field

And to be fair, It's not the same team that did previous ac games. So even if this is their 2nd ac game, they still aren't familliar with it.

THE QUADRAPEDES GET OUTRIGGERS, THAT'S SO COOL!
I always loved that the tetra legs stake themselves into the ground for better support; always thought that was an awesome detail
I've played this game once, didn't like it, however, I can clearly see that developers have put so much potential and effort into this game.

Not too bad, honestly feels the same as regular console I think
i never noticed they did that as i always used quads or tanktreds for heavy weaponry
I love the Strix Retrofit legs. Feels like if someone turned a bulldozer into a mecha
If a Hurricane or Tornado's rolling through, I want to be in a core with quad legs.

I definitely liked each AC for what it was, 5th Gen's clunky aesthetic was pretty charming.
Just learn to kick off everything. VD in many cases absolutely can be played really fast, it just asks you to be good to do that unlike 4 and 4A.
確かに。不格好さの魅力、というのが生粋のメカ好きにしか伝わらないのでしょう。私もこの泥臭いデザインが大好きです。google翻訳が上手く働くことを願って。
This involved a military model player's big question: Should mechs be painted like tanks or planes? Gen V is clearly leaning towards the former

there era only two things im pissed about v and vd, and thats because to release sold damaged cd's and sever shut down months after release.
Those Tetrapod legs weren't fucking around
Nice paint job
so all autocannons are folded when not using tank legs? you cant move while shooting them I guess
Where tank tracks?
They're automatically deployed already on Tank legs, so didn't feel like they'd need their own section haha

cool animations, but useless in real combat
The shield add more defense while kneeling, make AC a little tankier when sniping
It made more sense in multiplayer when you’d be supporting others as a sniper or working to funnel them down an alley
Why are so many lies written in English comments? lol
