Ok, I'm Mexican, and that aren't enchiladas, that thing wasn't a taco, the nachos aren't the complement, we use at least 4 types of sauces, and 4 types or drinks... but ok =>= I think our school lunch would be divided like this: 4 Enchiladas (maybe in green sauce) Red rice as a side dish 1 flan for dessert And the drink can be Agua de Jamaica, Horchata, Lemonade or any kind of soft drink... it's just a tip. And if you still want to include salsa, you can make it with guacamole with cerrano and lemon, tomatillo and chile de árbol, tomato with serrano or chipotle with chile de árbol.

As a brazilian when I was in high school we usually had rice and beans with fish or chicken with farofa (brazilian dish) for lunch and sometimes we had some cream crackers with chocolate milk, sometimes we had coffee with sandwich and in the sandwich there was butter or strawberry jelly and at the school I studied in some special occasions we had hotdogs with orange juice, but it happened like once in 5 months.

0$ meal means the meals are free provided by the govt to the children as most parents in such nations like india are poor, and the childrens suffer massively from malnutrition. A simple humanitarian act but with a massive impact that it alone handles children malnutrition (given food are nutritious) ,children education (as parents are interested in the scheme so their children won't go hungry for the day, they would be sent to schools) ,eradication of child labour ( no more children available since all are at schools) ,lower the impact of poverty ( parents could care less of their children's malnutrition disease treatment expenses) and finally an educated and well built generation for the prosperity of the nation overall. Edit:- This one is exclusively for nations like india and other similar ones. Other nations who doesn't have development problems too give free food schemes in schools, but probably for other reasons.

I believe schools have standard food that is available everywhere in the world like sandwiches etc. Maybe you showed in this video the dishes that represent countries where they originate, what people probably eat the most in their country, but probably not in schools. Those dishes look like they are for restaurants, and expensive, and not for fast meal that has to be eaten between classes. Those meals look better than what many eat at home haha
a lot of school lunches are regional in the US tbh. in the south, we had greens, potatoes, cornbread, sometimes pizza and burgers. a lot of it was just southern cooking. the northern schools had the more standard pizza, burger, grilled cheese, chicken nuggets type joints. i personally stopped eating lunch at schools, based off how lack luster the nutrition is and overly under seasoned, yet salty it was.

I'm sorry but the American lunch is wrong. The burgers my school offered were all tofu based. Unless you brought cola from home, there was no soda in the school. We had vending machines but they had gatorade, flavored water, and juice only. Otherwise you have the option of 2% white/chocolate milk or plain water. A lot of the US schools offer a free/reduced lunch program for kids which I was on. Items like french fries were served in their own cartons that were not part of that program, so you had to pay for items like that. Otherwise it was tofu burger, grilled chicken on a bun, salad, or if it was November, they'd serve turkey. Dessert was never part of the menu. "Fast food" like options were a thing in the 90s, but due to increased obesity the options were discontinued.

@@鵜殿隆子 あれは茹でてるでしょ。 学校給食では食中毒を避けるために生の魚は出さないのよ。特に1996年のO-157事件以降、自治体レベルではあるものの野菜ですら生で出す場合は厳格な手順が定められてる。

I'm sorry but the American lunch is wrong. The burgers my school offered were all tofu based. Unless you brought cola from home, there was no soda in the school. We had vending machines but they had gatorade, flavored water, and juice only. Otherwise you have the option of 2% white/chocolate milk or plain water. A lot of the US schools offer a free/reduced lunch program for kids which I was on. Items like french fries were served in their own cartons that were not part of that program, so you had to pay for items like that. Otherwise it was tofu burger, grilled chicken on a bun, salad, or if it was November, they'd serve turkey. Dessert was never part of the menu. "Fast food" like options were a thing in the 90s, but due to increased obesity the options were discontinued.
