Stay Away From these units: The oil inside your boiler is fabrication oil used to make threads. It is not from your exhaust or from gaskets.
Stay AWAY from these units for heating or for hot water heaters. neither are as reliable as what you have and you will pay much more in the long run. Installation Costs are outrageously inflated just as maintenance or repair costs.
For hot water heaters, stay with a tank water heater, its a simple operation, they never fail, you have spare water if power goes out and they are maintenance free for years. A Navien needs yearly cleaning with vinegar and is 4 times the cost of a gas or electric water heater. They are unreliable in the winter and you will be stuck with multiple sensor failures. . You also need to constantly clean the air filter, between air filter and calcium and hard water cleaning it will cost you at minimum $400 a year.
Each $10 sensor failure will cost you $1600 on average to replace.
Error Code E-110 Check for obstructions on vent and exhaust but more than likely its your pressure switch, follow the vacuum line from the blower and it will lead you to the pressure switch. You can plug the top or bottom nipple on the diaphragm switch as a temp fix until you get a new switch. The idiots at Navien had us dismantle the blower in two pieces by removing the top 4 screws which took 2 hours due to its location. If you hear the blower turn on, then you get the error code, this means it is not your blower and no need to dismantle it.
