You are the man who taught me ALL about coolers. I cannot thank you enough. I began a year ago, thinking that the Yeti everyone raves about was the ultimate cooler. But, after seeing you compare a whole row of ice chests side-by-side and seeing the Yeti finish well below the top finishers, I really felt a profound sense of having been SCHOOLED! I can't thank you enough. My cooler research journey eventually led me to purchasing a Dometic 95 dual zone. It was very exciting to set up and start operating. Alas, my particular unit malfunctioned and had to be returned... today. So sad. But, I'm tracking down another one, so will be Dometicized once again shortly. You know, now that I've had the experience of owning one, I really feel the loss when it isn't here. These things are great! Purchased the new model Dometic CFF 45 model a couple of weeks ago and have not turned it off, with a 3 year warranty... I'll be testing that out, I've been on one camping trip in 35 degree heat, works a treat with no problems , very quiet and I'm very impressed so far, we'll see how she goes as my fridge will be running all of the time not just on camping trips.
would save a lot of power running the freezer section at a higher temp. no need for that low temp. also frig section could be run at higher temp. extended run times could be gained
Hi mate, nice viedeo like always. Thinking about buying this one, because I'm not happy with the engel md 60 FC. I have a 75ah optima yellow agm Batterie with 200 Watts permanently solar on it. And a mobile 100 watt solar to put on top by standing. Do you think that is enough power for a long weekend (4 days)? I mean it needs a lot of power... 🤔
Great info thank you, but how much of that 35% of your 400watt hour battery was used to first get it to temperature.. I think a better test, would be to see how much to maintain temp on how many what hours. Thank you
now that it's been a few months, are you just as happy with it? How is the overall size for you? I'm very interested in this exact model but fear it might be a bit big
We haven't used it much since the test, but I will say it is definitely large. This is great for storing all your food, but if space is limited you may want to go with a smaller size. Where did you plan on using it?
We have this exact model. We are about to use it in an off grid situation on our farm. At the moment we run it off electricity at the Caravan park. The manual says it draws 7 - 9 amps an hour, (running.) Whats your expectation for its amp usage once the fridge / freezer is loaded, and used normally,. I'm in the process of setting up our fixed solar system to run it.
How big is the power consumption difference between the dometic cfx 3 75dz and the engel md 60 FC? It says on the paper that the dometic takes 70watt and Engel 52watt, is that a big difference of power consumption by using? How is the difference of the compressors? Have 75ah optima batterie and a 100w solar panel in Europe . All this with a Engel mr040. The batterie doesn't get flat at all. But wanne change to dometic cfx 3 75dz or engel md 60 FC and I'm not sure if the bigger power consumption makes a big difference... Can you help? In Germany nooone has a Engel md 60 FC to ask... Thx
If the cooler is abutting a wall, and you open the lid, does the wall interfere with the lid opening? In other words, does the cooler need an inch or something of clearance away from a wall to be able to open the lid? Can you tell us what this dimension is if so?
Hi, can you connect and control this box Bluetooth. Mine won't connect to a Samsung s9 with Bluetooth. With WiFi no problem. Can find the box with Bluetooth but no control in the app. You have this problem?
Hi there. I'm researching Dometic myself. I just found out about it last night. The salesman at REI told me about it. REI carries Dometic, in case you are wondering (which means that, if you don't like it, you can take it back to any REI at any time. Cool beans.) So, you can understand why I pretty much read Dometic's entire website last night. I DID see the "dual-temp" models (which have two compartments, rather than one big compartment) were described as being able to switch so that you could have one fridge/one freezer; two freezers; or two fridges. They ALSO said you can turn off one side, to save on power usage. So, yeah, you can do what you were asking about. Basically, a half-sie. NOTE: You'll want to buy a CFX model with a DZ in the model number: Either 75DZW (70 liters, $1,230), 95DZW (85 liters, $1,430), 65DZ (60 liters, $1,150) or 75DZWSE Limited Edition (70 liters, $1,400). The limited edition's only difference, as far as I can see, is that its outside is dark gray. Other than that, it's identical to the 75DZW. I hope this helps you! Good luck!

If you want to come back and read the RUclips page, I gave a pretty long response to another person asking essentially the same question that you did. I hope this helps!
Clever folks...harvesting personal data from their customers. How much you wanna bet they keep track of your favorite brand of beer and how much you drink?

We can try that. Thanks for the suggestion.
Fantastic review thank you
Thanks! Thanks for watching.
That is so cool I love this cooler
Crazy! Never thought we would have wifi cooler, but its pretty sweet.
It is a pretty cool one! Good video
Thanks!
I bought the smallest of the dual zone Dometic fridge freezer. Should arrive soon. Have you reviewed it, CFX65DZ?
Thanks!
We haven't tested that size, but overall the the Dometic Fridge Freezers are amazing.
now that it's been a few months, are you just as happy with it? How is the overall size for you? I'm very interested in this exact model but fear it might be a bit big

Telling us amp draw has no meaning unless you tell us the voltage. .5 amp at 120 volt?
its a 12v system or am i missing something?
Can you run it with only one side on? Say one fridge on and the other side not turned on at all?

If you run it on 12v, you use less power, as you don't have the inverter using power to convert to 110v.
Thanks for the heads up!
what was water temp at start? for each test
It was the same for both, straight from the tap....I'm not sure of an exact temp but it was not chilled prior to test.
What was the results of the last few giveaways?

Can both sides be used as freezers or only one?
