Great review guys! Ive been using the same engel for about 15yrs and recently changed to a CFX75 waeco as needed more room and freezer compartment. Going by your review it sounds like we made the right decision. We picked up ours for $1319 so anyone looking at one make sure you shop around. Cheers.

LMAO, you looked like you were either drunk or high on something. But the review is entertaining and spot on. Very good review with helpful info. So many thumbs up!
We have never had an Esky style WAECO although we do have an upright one in the Coaster. Our 4x4 camping fridge is an Engel 60l that is 12 years + old. Only ever had one hiccup with it and it was solved by turning the fridge upside down for the night. We got a Two Zone add on that turns it into a 60 l freezer and 40 l fridge. I would be interested to know how WAECOs compare with longevity and average daily power use. The Engel draws about 3.5 amps when freezing (which we have measured at around 500wh a day). I like the design of the WAECO with each section accessible separately. Easier to get to stuff that with the Two Zone on the Engel.
It seems the old saying they don't build them like they used to is relevant to today's market. I love the old fridges but I've noticed they can be noticeably louder when running and also lacking in some features that the modern day fridges have. For somebody to go out and buy a fridge today they are restricted to mainly the cfx range (Waeco fridges) and that's why I did the review to kind-of showcase what I like about it. Not much has changed dramatically with compressor efficiency in the Waecos and Engels so you would be looking roughly a similar power usage. Sounds like you have a great setup and if it works for you then don't change it haha. Cheers

When we first set off we had a 50L CFX Waeco, half way round we swapped to a ridge ryder dual zone, that wasnt surviving so we got this fridge. This fridge is currently freezing meals and had no dramas. Never had a problem with Waeco but i guess that makes me a Waeco fan.
mmm fishy icecreams lol
