I had a 73 and had to get rid of it because the vinyl tops were notorious for rust. Wouldn’t hurt to peel it back to see if there is rust bubbles. Maybe you can take down the headliner to check for sheet metal patch repairs. Keep it up. That mountain ain’t too high. 💯
For the Top! I used to use lanolin on my 1/4 top. Also used it on the back of my seats where it was leather / vinyl... worked amazing. Always kept shit hydrated. Even after storing the car for 5 years

It's clean enough to enjoy with all the obstacles you have faced,see thus as a sign keep it simple,put the wheels on the spokes first get compatible with driving it then start fixing the little things that need attention.
