    I can't eat raw fish, but I wonder... The Greeks grill he'e over an open fire, and sometimes make a salad of it too. Would that be considered poke? Also, do you bite the heads of the he'e you catch like Kimi does? (teasing...I couldn't that's for sure. She's hardcore.)

    How long did you cook the tako

    • @KeepingItRelle
      @KeepingItRelle  2 года назад +1

      Really depends on the size and thickness of the tako. Anywhere between 1-2hrs most times. You'll have to keep checking it.

    First off I love you and all that you do, but I needed to call you out on this why would you call it Hawaiian tako poke. You refer to North America as mainland and you need to change some of your descriptions. I do love you but I need to call you out America is not your mainland, heʻe is Called tako unless youʻre japanese.

      So many variations of the name of this recipe. Most commonly here we say tako poke. Is this the traditional name, no, it's a blend of the ethnicities that make up Hawai'i today (Japanese and Hawaiian). As both a Native Hawaiian and Japanese person born and raised in Hawai'i, there's so many of these names that we blend to use. Definitely can call it he'e poke, but I find in general more people are familiar with the term tako poke which is why I used that name and helps people find the recipe when they search it, which is the name of the game online. By all means you can call this dish another name if you'd like. Mahalo for your input.
