I just want you to know how much I needed this video today I get so frustrated with my energy and chronic pain I find that using my cane is far more energy expenses than using my guide I use caffeine to help with my pain my rewards for myself are usually buying Maui my guide a new collar or bandana

I feel you on this! Using a cane is much more energy intensive than using a guide dog for sure! rewarding the pooch is the best kind of reward for both of you. :)

I agree with this! I need 8 hours of sleep, or I’m not feeling well rested. There’s only certain foods I can eat due to my acid reflux mild GI issues. I take medication for anxiety and attention deficit disorder, prescribed by my psychiatrist. Which work great, but I’ve also been working with it, specifically bettering my mental state if I’m in a bad place.

Glad to hear you've got a system that's working for you! I sure feel it if I don't get my sleep schedule right too. :)

All good tips. One other that can be helpful to some people. Plan a nap. Sometimes 15-30 minutes of extra sleep in the middle of the day is what you need to recharge your batteries enough to finish out the day. This is especially important as you get older and are disabled.

Good info! I love power naps, but look forward to a regular routine of waking & sleeping, when I retire, after almost 40 years of shift work! But not tmr!

Thanks! Hopefully you’ll get the freedom of retirement soon! Then you can sleep at night like the rest of us ;)

Oh man, I use a lot of these tips. I have chronic fatigue, and I do use the spoons analogy. I recently had a discussion with someone who freaked out when I told her I drink a gallon of water daily. I don't chug it all at once, but I've found that this amount works for me and has helped maintain my energy level as well as keep off the persistent headaches I used to get regularly.
Also, I'm a snacker and I recently started eating smaller meals throughout the day. Since I don't have any humans around and for me, eating is a highly social thing, I struggle with staying motivated to eat. So like you, I do most of my cooking once a week. Lately though I've been trying to make strides in cooking at least once every couple of days. I dunno. I go through phases.
Sleeping is a really big struggle for me. I do try and get eight hours a night but it's not always at the same times. A work in progress.
Finally, I can't live without to-do llists. Do you use a particular app on your phone or watch? I know there are a zillion of them on the App store, but I find the iOS native Reminders app works just fine for me. I haven't messed around with the latest Android version so I dunno what's available on the Google Play store.

I’m very much a reminders on iPhone gal. It was there and I use it for everything! There may be other apps, but it works well enough for me .:)
Sleep is such a challenge for so many, myself included, and I’ve finally caved to taking naps when I really feel sleep deprived. Wishing you good rest. 💤

That was a great video. I saw a question in one of the guide dog groups I think about a week ago about how someone can use a wheelchair, and a guide dog. I know that you have a guide dog, and use a wheelchair. Can you make a video about that? Plus, we haven’t seen Patients in a while.

That’s definitely in the works. I’m still working out some of the details but I will make a video as soon as I can. :)

Could you do a video explaining what it’s like as a blind/visually impaired person with POTS?

Funny enough, it’s something I’ve had in the works for a little bit. So you can look forward to that soon :)
