Little Mix member Leigh-Anne Pinnock is shaping up to have a very successful solo career. She's been focused on showing her Carribean heritage and identity, and her own creative freedom, in a way she previously couldn't while in her group. Leigh-Anne discusses this in her documentary, Race, Pop & Power. Again, Leigh-Anne got to express her struggles as a pop star, but in a fictional way, when she voiced Ariel in an Audible adaptation of The Little Mermaid. This summer, Leigh-Anne released her first two singles, Don't Say Love and My Love (ft. Ayra Starr). Both have been received warmly so far, and have made fans eager for her debut album. Leigh-Anne has said it'll contain some R&B, afrobeats, and reggae, and that's she's working with producers like Darkchild and Danja.

i'm seeing that they are taking it very easy with her building a persona, an hype for her debut album and not simply investing everything in the debut single and hoping for the best. her team is doing their job for sure. wishing success for her!

Leigh Anne has everything it takes to be a global star. She just needs to grow a new fan base because as she’s said herself most LM fans won’t support her solo career. She needs to get her name outside of the uk and just keep pushing . I think she was the second best vocalist of little and she is extremely versatile. I’m excited to see where she can go.
Leigh Anne was always going to have the hardest and we know why. She’s super talented.
she’s actually killing it in terms of projects alongside her music. she’s deffo getting her name out there. I mean being on the cover of Rolling Stone (went viral on PopCrave), A video on Vogue YT . Just so much. It’s a shame that not all the mixers have supported her along the journey tho - that’s where DSL message comes in just showing that Leigh doesn’t want the mixers fake love (using her for hit tweets etc but not actually supporting her music.)
I'm really loving her music so far. Don't Say Love is one of my favorite pop songs of this year. I hope her team doesn't mismanage her releases because she has the potential to be her own artist. She seems very passionate about it as well.

One good thing about Warner is they have some patience with their artists. Like Dua Lipa didn't become a huge star overnight, her first 2 singles quite flopped and it was her 3rd or 4th single (Be The One) that was actually a breakthrough for her. Leigh-Anne said around release of Don't Say Love there are 3 singles prepared.
@@richmaxmchalliwchester1984 Ooh I had MTV back then and remember Dua Lipa was on 2015 MTV Push so I discovered her pretty early in her career. Actually her first single was Be The One but it got rereleased again when she gained more popularity (Blow Your Mind was her first hit if I'm not mistaken) and I was proud of her. Be The One still holds dear to my heart because that's how I found Dua Lipa!
I hope the same goes for Leigh-Anne even if it takes a few years for her to gain mainstream recognition.
It's so infuriating that people are not taking notice of Leigh. She's doing so well with her solo music. Her vocals her sound choreography and visuals is off the chain. Support our girl please. She's beautiful and talented. Im routing for her and I hope she achieves all her goals.

I'm massive fan of Little Mix and i'll keep support all my girls even in their solo careers. Leigh-Anne's debut is amazing. Both songs she released are bangers and i already can't wait for next single and the album. Mix of Pop, Garage, R&B, Reggae, Afrobeats and hopefully even little bit of Hip Hop suits her perfectly. I really couldn't be more proud of her and i'm proud to call myself a Legion (Leigh's fandom name). I'm so excited for Jade and Perrie's debuts as well.
It's sad Little Mix is on break but the good thing about it is we'll be getting 3x more music now.

I just really wish her team acc did their job n promoted her… thats the only thing thats missing for her to be succesful… shes got the voice, the choreo, the talent, the look… like all she needs is a team that does right by her bc we all know how ageist the industry is not to mention the sexism & the racism..
Hopefully she gets an EMA performance or BRITs or something… not sure if they started directly promoting her outside the UK yet
In the era of social media, it also seems that they feel old school promotion is no longer a thing.
If only they knew that's hurting artists, fans want tv shows, interviews, and old school promo, not just the ig or Apple music exclusive.
I know a lot of people my age and older who want a hard copy, but they feel left out of the consumer audience cos their not teens, etc.

It was always going to be harder for Leigh Anne she’s always been shunned but I actually like the approach her team is taking . They building a name for her as a solo artist.
I love how hungry and passionate she is about getting herself out there as a soloist, and showing people who she really is. It’s definitely very inspiring. I also like that she’s not putting too much pressure on herself to be a chart topper and have all these big records, but I do think it will happen one day. She’s very talented, likeable, she’s working with great producers and she’ll collab with other people too and get her name out there more.
My Love is one of my favourite songs of the year, such an instant bop. Love the anthemic feel and as a Nigerian, I was so happy that she decided to go to Lagos and collaborate with Ayra 🫶🏾looking forward to her next projects!!
Little mix are my favorite girl group from the younger generation and i wish all of the them the best. I like that she was inspired by Mariah Carey for the cover of her first solo single.

She was always my favourite member of Little Mix. They were all beautiful and talented girls but she stood out to me from the beginning.
As a group their music was really hit and miss for me. Some of their songs I really loved, but then some of them were not my thing at all.
So I'm looking forward to seeing what Jade, and Perrie do, as they both have amazing voices (Little Mix were *amazing* at singing harmonies), but I was so excited to hearing Leigh-Anne's solo work. Loving what she's released already and I'm really hoping for big things for her. IMO she has everything: she's multi-talented, fantastic vocals, stage presence, dancing, she's beautiful, and I love her styling.
Little Mix has always been underappreciated... their talent is insane! I've been a fan of theirs since their early days.

Yes!! I am so here for this video! As an American who just got into Little Mix two years ago, I wish they got the respect they deserved over here! They have so many bops it’s ridiculous! Leigh Anne has always the best of little mix to me, she gives me everything I want to hear from powerful ballads, soft buttery smooth vocals, flavorful r&b vocals to dancing like a pro. She was not respected in the group mostly because she was the black member let’s be honest, it’s like the Normani situation. She has already show she can stand on her own vocally and give hard choreography. She’s always been a powerhouse vocalist who never got her flowers for it but suddenly people are seeing it because their bias for other members aren’t there it’s just her. She’s the whole package vocally and performance wise. She has a chance to be big but it’s gonna be slow because mixers won’t support her as much as the others but that’s ok she’ll get there ❤️
As a day one Little Mix fan, it's so insane and exciting that we get to see Leigh-Anne come into her own as a soloist.
I love how she's really putting her best foot forward and positioning herself by bringing quality with the visuals and work ethic.
She easily could have started out as just R&B this era, but she wants her flavours to pop out and be a fusion of sounds, so she doesn't get typically boxed.
Charting wise it can be risky as it's not an attack approach for number one uk singles chart, but what will happen is her global reach will widen and that part places her with a newer set of eyes for her artistry brand, then as that gathers more pace, the team can maybe focus on strategies on next singles prior to an album.
The choreography dances in my love are gaining a lot of attention because Leigh-Anne ATE it up in that video.
It may be an expensive roll out but she must keep up these standards, as I'm buzzing for her next phase 👏🏾🙌🏾⭐❤️

You can tell that she’s hungry and has something to prove. Her debut shows the importance of having a solid team behind you to push you in the places and rooms you need to be.
She almost reminds me of Taylor with how you can feel/see the hunger she has to be sucks a solo artist and how she’s going and prostrating herself at all the right places (eg Rolling Stone, bloggers, music journalist RUclips HQ, etc.) to make sure she’s given airtime. I was even shocked to see her at the BET Awards. The one thing I wish is that the moves didn’t come off so calculated and noticeable.

I love how Leigh's solo career is shaping. Her team seems to be good and I think the way they are placing her and promoting her work and brand is very smart. Also she seems to be in a place artistically where she can experiment and try things while feeling safe to do so.

I don't know anything about musical composition and songwriting, but the verse of her first single that says "Empty words, empty lies, entertainment" is so refreshing to me. It's three phrases, no verbs. I'm not english speaker native, so I don't really know if people really talk this way and if the verse is so appealing to me, I guess it's becasue I don't listen a lot like it in english. She's credited to have colaborated to write several songs since their debut album, which has given her experiencie and domain. I really like Little Mix's music, so I look forward to Perrick's upcoming project(s).
I love the way she's introduced herself musically, working on the visuals etc. things that they didn't really get to do in the group. On top of that, she's a great songwriter, Jade and her wrote most of their songs & to me that's a good thing because I know she's going to deliver on her album ! It's so cool to see her blossom outside of the group, I definitely think that Little Mix held them back from exploiting their full potential so I'm really excited. She's determined and working super hard to get where she wants to be and for that I am sooooo proud of her, especially as a mom of toddlers, it must take a lot to balance everything. She's here to stay for sure !!!🍀
Leigh-Anne was always my favorite at first listen, Little Mix as a whole is underrated here in America unfortunately so I never had a chance to see them. Wishing her so much success, out of all of the LM girls I feel like she's the one with the most potential to become a name not just known within the UK. It will take time but I think she can do it, she's had no misses thus far and you can tell she's not desperate for a tiktok hit. Also her first collab wasn't with a veteran artist who did most of the heavylifting, clearly she wants her solo rise to be genuine.

She’s been my favorite in little mix since I discovered them in their glory days days, and after hearing about her story through the years I’m so happy to see her flourishing
She is killing it with this single roll out. I thought it would feel weird seeing her without the girls but she's really changed up her persona. I think the fact she waited a while to debut has helped make the separation from band to solo more natural. Leigh was always my favourite from LM. Both of her singles so far have been bops. I listen to My Love multiple times a day and I'm so excited for an album.

I LOVE Little Mix. I got to see them live on the Dangerous Woman Tour and they were great. I want all 3 (shade intended) to have success as solo artists and also to get back together after solo endeavors. I love all 3 but have a soft spot for Leigh & Jade

I do love little mix, and the British girl groups like the Spice Girls, Girls Aloud, and sugababes.
Outside TLC and destiny's child, American girl groups aren't known for the thing that British girl groups seem to have something better that make them last, a sisterhood..
It's still sad that Girls aloud planned to reunite in 2022 to celebrate their 20th anniversary, but the death of Sarah Harding, unfortunately and understandably derailed it.
The interviews are spot on, it's just weird to carry her verses, or always you're performing and having looks and just fun ways of communicating, it's just not the same, cos she's no longer with us, and it would be hard to get through a tour knowing that it's not all 5 celebrating 20 years of Girls Aloud.

The sad reality is that Leigh-Anne will probably have a very short lived solo career. It's very similar to the girls from All Saints. All Saints were hugely successful as a group but as solo acts, they had a few top 20 singles in the UK and then disappears. In general, the Little Mix girls don't have that solo power - their strength is in numbers. As solo acts, they lack the charisma or mystique to go far. Some might get upset with this stance but come back in a few years and tell me I was wrong.
Leigh Anne has the most potential for worldwide success, she is the most rounded vocally, has a huge stage presence, she’s creative and determined.

They've kept a clean image so far and that's fine, but to make it solo you kinda need to sell out a bit, like becoming more sexy, raunchy videos/lyrics, maybe a celebrity fued or scandal. Personality wise Leighanne is quite boring
