I'm a Thailand native and life threw me into a tough battle with Meth addiction. Struggling financially, I ended up as a 'เด็กเดินยา, hustling to move drugs for a fix. It all came crashing down with my arrest at 23, marking 12 intense years. Now I've left that behind, finding comfort in cannabis and Kratom (กระท่อม) on my path to recovery. ☺️🙏🍃🌳🔥💨
If you use it the right way its the best natural medicine for humans on earth. But to use it medically you have to eat a decarboxilated high concentrated oil with over 85% THC. So insane strong and powerful, i have seen over hundred cancer patients cure their cancer with it. The THC actually induces apoptosis in cancer cells, that means the cancer cells get a signal to kill themself in a clean way. Thats why you need such a strong and concentrated oil because with smoking for example your body only gets very little amounts of cannabinoids and you really have to flush your body with it if you have a serious illness. The good thing is we have cannabinoid receptors nearly everywhere in our bodies thats why it works for hundreds of illnesses.
Thank you for sharing 🙏 I'm a recovered addict. I spent roughly 20 years addicted to Cocaine and heroine, then finally Fentynol. I've over dosed over 30 times that required Narcan and I once had the Paddles to shock me back to life. I'm over 6years sober now. No drinking or hard drugs. I do smoke weed and take Kratom everyday. The weed kills my motivation and makes me a little bit slower mentally but I'm much better off today than I ever have been in my entire life. I was homeless and in and out of jails for over 12years I spent inside jail. Over 8 years living on thr street and eating out of garbage cans. In canada to so it gets cold here. Miserable way to live. I've saved up almost $100,000 Canadian dollars in the past year and treated myself to a trip to Thailand. I've always been drawn to Buddhism and recently Hinduism. I absolutely love Thai culture and history. The festivals and colors and stories all intrigue me. I think I was born Thai in a previous life and probably wanted to be born in a more wealthy country. I was born white and poor in pei canada. I would much rather have been born Thai and lived a simple life with a loving family and wife. Not the shallow back stabbing women that the Canadian dating scene is known for ...... Love Thailand ❤
I think there's no stopping it now. People will do what they want, regardless the laws. I'm fighting prohibition in USA. Locking people up for weed is insane.
@@YasukeNakamoto it's weird 'cause even in illegal states like here in TN, we have THC-A from the 2018 bill which is basically normal THC. You can buy it at any gas station or smoke shop - but if you get pulled over, the police will still try to charge you for something legally bought..
Regardless of laws? LOL, you don't seem to understand what the law means in a country that actually upholds the law. In many places in Asia you'd wind up in a nasty jail or worse for smug illegal behavior by some clueless white guy from North America.
Psychedelics saved me from years of uncontrollable depression, anxiety, smoking, and illicit pills addiction. Imagine carving heavy chains for over a decade and then all of a sudden that burden is gone. Believe it or not, in a couple of years they'll be all over for treatment of mental health related issues.
To be honest, mushrooms are one of the most amazing things on the planet and it is natural, they serve in many ways not only for mental related issues.
Can you help me with a reliable source I would really appreciate it. Many people talk about mushrooms and psychedelics but nobody talks about where to get them. It is very hard to get a reliable source here in New Zealand. Really need!
Yes, Sporeville. I had the same experience with anxiety, depression, PTSD, and addiction... Mushrooms definitely made a huge difference to why I'm clean today.
I wish they were readily available in my place. Microdosing was my next plan of care for my husband. He's 59 & has many mental health issues plus probably CTE & a TBI that left him in a coma 8 days. It's too late now I had to get a TPO as he's 6'6 300+ pound homicidal maniac. He's constantly talking about killing someone. He's violent. Anyone reading this Familiar w/ BPD knows if it is common for an obsession with violence.
I'm Australian, I have a medical cannabis prescription here at home, which I know is completely useless outside of my own country, but it would be great if it was useable in countries that also allow medical cannabis. I've used cannabis for 23 years, 20 of those years were illegally, 3 years on prescription. I was in Thailand, March 2023, I had the time of my life, it was so liberating to use it freely, I mainly use for insomnia and anxiety but a little recreational use at times. Usually when I'm on holiday outside of Australia, I really struggle to sleep, I resort to drinking, being able to have a joint at night out on the balcony of my hotel room was just fantastic, I slept so well, I hadn't enjoyed a holiday that much in years, I fell in love with Thailand. I hope they take a really sensible approach to this.
Its weird here in Aus, our society is working hard to lobby against and ban vaping. At the very same time we are fighting hard to have weed legalized. You cant even make that shit up, Australia is run on retardation and white collar crime. @@Ludydobry
It isn’t that simple I’m Aussie pensioner and suffering from insomnia, depression, anxiety, chronic stomach pain and injury to my wrist, back pain and still was refused medical access but even I was accepted paying 450$ per ounce it’s no way I could afford it.
It's funny how once a restrictive law is in place it takes ages for it to be even considered debatable, but when a law that does the opposite, it can go from being completely legal to illegal within months.
There are ways to skirt every law. This will play out to benefit rich Thai owners and generate more money for the politicians. The requirement for prescriptions and record-keeping are window dressing.
Yeah, maybe the elites aren’t making enough out of this yet, so they will change the laws and regulations to skim more off the top. Always happens. Rich get richer.
The slow roll out show how there trying to control the market and who gets in and who can make it in a high tax market only the rich that can eat the lost year after year so moms and paps go under because they cant take lost like big corp can then off low paying jobs in a billion dollar industry
No mention of Holland? A country where it’s used for both medicinal and recreational purposes, and is and has been thriving for years! I honestly can’t see the issue, alcohol is and will always be far worse.
iIs not legal in Holland. Gray area. First babysteps taken for growing and selling legal. As soon as you walk out with your legal bought weed, it's illegal. LOL
That's not true. Consumers can legally have 5 grams. The problem is with the coffeeshops, they can sell it, but they can't buy it legally in the Netherlands. That;s the issue, because it means it comes from criminal sources @@geforcy
@@geforcy that’s why you smoke it in the coffee shops? Of course you don’t just go around smoking it in the street, which I’m aware still happens in Holland, you’ll have people in every country with no respect. It’s just crazy to me that we as a human society have this negative view on cannabis and it’s usage, but as a whole, can’t see that alcohol causes far worse issues health-wise, has ZERO health benefits, and is just, if not MORE addictive than a natural plant. But that’s just me.
You can smoke weed in public in The Netherlands without much problems as long you are not bothering other people with it. Police are not bothering you aslong you are not bothering other people.
Also seems great for Thailand's farmers and the economy in general- there's much more money to be made from growing weed plants than from sugar cane, for instance.
So in the future we should simply start sweetening stuff with weed residue ... do you even know how much sugar , a by-product of sugar cane is used or consumed on a daily basis 😊
Farmers in villages lost money. They were led to believe they could grow marketable weed after a short course because they are farmers....they couldn't....the weed was rubbish. The farms that are commercially viable bought in western growers or sent thai growers to Europe, California or Canada to learn a year before it was legalized. These farms were owned by hiso with money.
Im from California, when it became medically legal in the beginning getting a script was easy. They even had Dr.s in house writing script. ..then it went full blown legal and taxed the hell out of it 😂
@@bigjohnson7415 you know I'm not sure. I remember I think a two plant maximum for people at one time in the beginning day California used to conservative and a beautiful state decades ago. Me too. In the army 2000’s in SF, you just got a doctor eval (everybody passes) for $110 a year from Dr. Ellis and then bring the card to the dispensaries. I would buy weed for friends with my card. 95% of the customers were just stoners like myself. I get Thai ads and I see PrikPot out of Chiang Mai is now a medical dispensary with a 1 minute approval process!
@@michaelchristophergutierre7244 I hear ya! I grew up and still live in Texas. Used to be a great state until George W Bush was elected to Governor in 1994. Been downhill ever since. And there's no way in hell weed will ever be legal here. Or abortion now. Fookin Conservatives have screwed up this state royally!
Despite a few attempts from MSM to blame Cannabis for criminal acts and even murder, I think time has shown that the legalization did not trigger mass chaos and lawlessness. I think the gov's main concern is the collection of tax, coz they are missing out on an enormous amount of revenue without having any regulations.
The medical marijuana in Australia is a law for the rich. 450 dollars an ounce plus is an invitation for the battling pot smokers to continue to grow their own or to just buy 1 ounce only and use the medical prescription if appended using their home grown. By the way, since smoking pot which started in 1970, I have never had to visit any users in hospital for marijuana poisoning.
You beat me to it Chris. I am having an interview for my RUclips channel with a store manager, owner, and farm operator. My interview will take place on Monday. Of course, I do not have the amount of viewers that you have. I think it will be a good interview.
kl, I've subscribed to your channel so when you upload your video, it will notify me. I haven't been back to Thailand for over 10 years, so I am very interested in what you have to show me. Obviously I smoke weed too, lol.@@billg7531
I feel like what we might end up with as tourists is just that you pay a 'traditional doctor' (who may or may not be qualified) an extra fee for a prescription and then its the same free for all after that. So just a way to get another payment from tourists.
Once weed was legal I was happy that i could visit and still get my daily dose of the fine herb. Great food , great beaches, and weed what else do you need. Thanks Chris. 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏

Gday Chris once again thanks for the free trip and getting me hooked on Koh Samui. When Thailand made weed legal with no framework in place it didn’t surprise me that shops popped up everywhere. Most of us knew that it was meant to be medicinal prescription based and in true Thai fashion it was a free for all with even night market stalls. It still blows my mind that pornhub ,sex toys & prostitution is illegal. But all are openly available. I love how Thailand does not see everything in black or white but embrace the grey zone. Sometimes police will crack down on certain things at a business level eg vape shops but the average person can pay a fine and be on their way. One of the 100s of quirky things that I love about Thailand 😎
I really hope Thailand gets this right. If they do a medical card good for a year anywhere that will work. If they do it that u need a prescription each time then all the smaller shops will go out of business and the big guys will get a monopoly. It will drive up prices a lot as well.
@@williamfrancis7697 it's good and cheap enough that myself and every other grower I know turned the lights out. Scoring an oz is like buying a case of beer now. It's always exactly the same as the last bag, thc/CBD % is on the label, costs $4/g and it's a tax deductible medical expense if you have a prescription. I hate to support them like that, especially after ruining the black market, but what can ya do? Power and nutes keep getting more expensive, and a grower isn't saving much once he calculate all his hours.
Thanks, Chris for the very informative interview. I've been wondering what lies ahead and to hear from an industry insider is certainly valuable. A follow-up interview after the law is finalized would be appreciated. Cheers.
I watched an interview online thai law makers here in the usa they tax everything So as a usa citizen we are exempt from this law that's been on the books for years They just added this new provision if your not paying tax on your income From your country thailand will tax you...BUT NO DOUBLE TAX...if your county taxes you Then this new provision to the already exciting law does not apply to you
I smoke but I'm so sick of this miracle cure attitude. If you seriously have chronic back issues, cannabis isn't doing shit to help it. Especially not to the point you're able to walk all over Bangkok.
Alcohol, MDMA and shrooms on the other hand, you won't have pain. But alcohol is a big problem, not good for anything other than extreme circumstances. The other two, well, it depends, as long as you're not going to be driving or anything, no problem.
I'm 100% in favor of recreational cannabis sales especially for flowers. No city in the world needs 6500 cannabis shops. That's overkill. I hope Thailand figures it out because if they roll back to medical only, it will make lots of people angry.
Great video man! Personally I think this will hurt the economy and tourism like never before. Weed has done a lot for the country's economy and I see it causing a lot more problems if they shut it down . 😅
Things still in flux, but it seems there'll be access to some level going forward... Ben obviously has a BIG interest in the future of the market/laws...Holy Cow! Thanks, Chris for going to the SMEs out there to get the most up to the minute status... Great episode! 🙏🙏🙏 👍😎👍
Good interview Chris. As a NYer (it's fully decriminalized here) and lifelong weed smoker I think the only mistake is allowing smoking weed anywhere where tobacco smoke is legal. Smelling it in public everywhere is extremely foul. The whole lounge and private use situation is another story. There needs to be some cat and mouse with law enforcement or all the stoners get bad manners.
It was never allowed to smoke weed in public, don‘t mess up with recreational and public use. Now its only about recreational use that will be forbidden
Oh and I think you believe I believe it's legal to smoke in public in Thailand. if you'll notice, contextually, I'm talking about decriminalization in New York.
It's all about self-control. I don't want booze banned. I enjoy beer & wine socially because I have self-control. I like a cigar occasionally because I have self-control. Why should they ban things because some people can't handle it. They need help. Why should the rest of society be denied these things because some people have self-control problems.

It will be a real shame if all those shops have to close . I think its an excellent option for people who dont drink much . So good being able to have a smoke in a private environment and then heading down to the beach lounges and sipping on a coconut while getting a massage !
Cannabis is 100 times more healthy than alcohol. That's the ironic thing. For decades and decades Thailand has survived on alcoholics and sex tourism. Two disgusting and degenerate habits. Then they wake up and decide to legalize cannabis and now they want to shut the door on it. Pretty backwards.
Being a tourist to Thailand for the third time with my wife and two friends I really think the weed industry needs regulating it is very annoying that every where you go all you can smell is burning skunk I've nothing against someone having a smoke but when we go for a meal or drink someone walks in starts a joint it just stinks and the staff dont care I'm writing this by the pool and and there is a young couple smoking one after another stinking the place out without any respect for anyone else.i really think the authorities need to be careful on the laws because it spoiling people's holidays
I agree with you, the stench is awful, cigarettes smell bad too but pot is even worse! Families with kids and people who don’t smoke deserve to vacation too… shouldn’t be catered one type but yes it needs to be regulated better. Hi Chris, I smoked weed in my younger day's and run he gauntlet with it being illegal. But after just visit Thailand over the past 6 weeks, I was taken aback by how many weed shops that had popped up over the last couple of years since my last visit. The disappointing side of this is that people and sellers sit outside these shops sucking on bongs and having their little weed parties in open view to all the tourists. Now I'm no prude but I was looking to move to Thailand but it seems to have become a place where every dope smoker is now heading, not particularly something I think will entice the the average tourist into the country. Smoke it indoors out of site of people and it's all good, shove it in people's faces isn't a good promotion of Thailand, just my thoughts 🤔.

I hope not! Everything the government in Canada touches turns into crap. They literally take the fun out of everything by overtaxing and regulating everything.
The law has not changed. it was not allowed for recreational use to begin with, only medical...it went overboard with too many overpriced dispencaries...it needs regulation. The argument of 6500 landlors not able to rent out mainly premium shop space is false and a drip in the ocean on the total real estate market..As a thai, the weed dispencaries are way too many, and buy online for around 10-50 percent of the price sold in these shops...
Visited Bangkok last year, my very first time in a place with legalized cannabis. Indescribable experience, nothing I could ever imagine happening in Asia, and I'm not even talking about the buds themselves; the community, the dispensaries, the culture. I'm all for changes to the laws to support local growth, ensure public safety by means of not letting tourists act like dumbasses and cracking down on imports, but man, I was really hoping my planned trip later this year would be one filled with green too. It's a healing thing for many, including the "recreational" users, and it's disheartening to see Thailand potentially disengaging from their place in this revolution. Hoping for the best, and thank you for the good work documenting this fluid situation.

Hence, once these boys are in the system because of weed end up doing other crimes because of being institutionalised . De criminalise consumption of Drugs.
Kind of knew this was going to happen. When this came about it was like "pulling the pin on a grenade". Too much, too fast. Brought in some of the worst elements and the culture started changing...... not in a good way. When this initially rolled out it probably should have started with the medical aspect, from there they could have explored the recreational later on. It's a fact, cannibis has medicinal value...100%, and it's effective and treats all kinds of ailments. This was a great interview, but of course this man is totally supportive of the industry, he "has a dog in the fight" and is profiting from it.
They should just regulate it and make it recreational and have setup laws, at the end of the day the further back they go the bigger the window for the black market imo is, as it's already progressed so much, why would they pull back the curtains now? I personally don't even smoke or consume cannabis anymore but personally am an advocate for it as it helped me quit drinking and Smoking Cigartettes/Nicotine. The tobacco habit I kicked 2+ years ago thanks to Mary. Will be interesting to see how things play out

Chris Chris Chris.. I’m in Pattaya right now. I couldn’t be less happy with the weed here. The names and thc % claims of the strains they sell, are all bs,, and then they bait and switch. Chris, thanks for the very timely video. A question that I would really like to hear the answer to, if you know or if you hear a good explanation of, is, what happened politically or otherwise behind the scenes to cause this turnaround or discussion of turnaround in the marijuana situation? I mean, it's a hell of a turnaound to go from handing out a million plants to then make it illegal to grow those plants! gggg
Past was never gazetted (or bill past) during last government. New government won last year’s general election and is trying to get it noted into the Royal Gazette to at least set some ruling guidelines.
I really feel like you should watch Benjamin Hart, the managing Director of integrity legal in Bangkok Thailand possibly even do a video with him. He is very knowledgeable on the subject and he makes very good points. There are common phrases running around in Thailand, like “decriminalized cannabis use“ that are not true. It is fully legal, not decriminalized he makes excellent points, and I think you two together could make an excellent video. He’s often in Pattaya as well.

They're not gonna ban weed and recreational, that would mess up their newly obtained income. But they will revise the smoking in public law and a couple more. But it won't be reversed totally

Back in the 60s traveling with a backpack and living on $3 a day. I was lucky enough to travel all over Thailand for a year. Back then to my knowledge there wereno laws against pot. Attending auniversity then I noticed that most of the students thought smoking pot was for uneducated farmers and it was true that most of the Thais I met back the were farmer that smoked pot mixed with tobacco in their bamboo bongs. Coming from America smoking pot was all the rage and all my friend could roll a joint with a zig zag paper in 30 seconds. While I was in Thailand smoking pot and shopping a the Central department Store on Silom no one even noticed that I was smoking pot since I was not using a bong. I also remember I paid 20 baht for a kilo of dome pretty goid pot. Naturally I have long ago stopped smoking pot but out of curiosity whike in Bangkok for the New Years I stopped at on of the pot shops and asked about the price. I had to laugh when the dealer told me he wanted over a thousand baht for over a gram. Thing were better in Thailand in the 60s I rented a house on the river across from the palace for 400 baht a month. A huge bowel of noodles 3 baht or a plate of fried rice with an fried egg 5 baht. 1 baht for a coke in a plastic bag with ice. Half a baht to ride the bus across town or 100 baht to Nong Khai.
@swayp5715 You could get a kilo of really good grass for 100 baht as well as a 18 year old sweet little honey off the farm from Udorn for the same. price.
I don't smoke pot ,i don't enjoy being stoned but a really haven't seen any adverse effects from having it more regularly available or controlled by commercial enterprise. Probably seen more adverse effects from it being illegal in Australia
The weed shops often look trashy.. neon signs and glitz. Most of my local coffee shops sell weed AND allow customers to smoke it! No thanks.. I've got enough to deal with trying to relax with a coffee... tobacco smokers and traffic noise are enough to make me move.. The pot smokers have simply stopped me going to those coffee shops. It's outta control.
As a weed smoker that would even piss me off. Smoking inside the coffe shops regular ones etc is just invasive. Go on the street in the corner in your home.
What this is about is getting people to buy it up now while you still can. Everything we have now we’ll still have this time next year. If you want to know who you should really be asking let me know.
Firstly, I don't smoke weed. It doesn't agree with me. But I'm fully behind moves to make it legal. Despite it having some negative effects on some people. Thailand was globally celebrated for its moves to legalise weed, looked upon as a progressive/forward thinking nation. I can't help but feel that this is a mistake. It would've been better to restrict its use to certain areas/zones (such as tourist areas), as has been done elsewhere previously (Amsterdam for example). The government say it wont affect tourism, but it will. Such a shame this is going to change. And you do have to feel for all the farmers and people who work in the business. If they impose severe restrictions, it will just go back to being underground again, the government will lose tax revenue, people will lose their jobs and income and the same cycle of failure to police selling, production and use will be the inevitable result. But those who fail to learn from history and all that....
Agree. I was in Thailand for the first time for a few years (I live in Vietnam) and couldn't believe all the weeds stores in Chiang mai. I'm not sure that having them everywhere with no zoning really benefits the community and tourism on the whole.
In what alternative universe was an OBVIOUS short term political horse trade that's equally predictably being rolled back a signal that Thailand is "forward thinking progressive"? Do you know anything about Thailand? They have regular coups in which the elected government gets turfed out. They have insanely draconian les majeste laws that just this month have seen a man given 50 years in prison for a Facebook post deemed to be critical of the monarchy. You could have got 5-10 years just for clicking the like button on that post by the way. You clearly have no real interest in Thai politics or the people you just want to get high and are upset that"s getting taken away.
speaking as a californian, the californian model is really broken. the fees and permits and beauracracy mean only the biggest players can afford to be a part of the system, and the smaller growers have a tough time even breaking even, most don't even try to participate in the legal market. anyone who isn't a part of the legal market is still treated like a criminal. dispensary weed is usually low quality because of the scale it is grown on without any of the care and love and with very high prices. many california growers have left for other states (and probably places like thailand) because it is hard to make a living here in the legal market. it's disappointing that things are changing in thailand in this way, the current openness should be a model for everyone else to follow. the plant should be free
Ok, but I have worked with people who smoked weed just once and developed schizophrenia as a result. So, while I agree with you, weed isn't great for some people and it is a bit like Russian Roulette as to who will develop severe, untreatable mental illness from using it. Just once.
@@matthewbaker6177 Wow, just like a coworker of mine who's brother is a doctor who said he's seen people in the hospital with a weed psychosis episode. HE hasn't seen it, his brother has. Word of mouth without any facts. Here's a comparison for you. So this person smoked weed ONCE, and became impaired for life afterwards you say? While millions of others smoke it with absolutely no issues? There was this thing that happened about 3 years ago, where millions of people got sick. For 99 percent of us , myself included, it's was no big deal. But for 1 percent of us died, or were hospitalized, some for a very long time. 3 coworkers of mine were hospitalized for 3 months, one for 6. One fella was off work for over a year, and is still physically impaired. So, if COVID was no big deal, or a hoax as some people say, I guess the people you spoke of are no big deal either. Or your story is pure BS.
Having been in Bangkok from December 3rd till January 2nd and trying many different strains of hybrid/sativa/indica etc at the extortionate prices they're charging, I have come to the conclusion that it's all an absolute scam, not many trichomes to be seen, had a tickle at first but quickly it all became a bit buzzless, I can grow far stronger with fluorescent tube lamps in any UK loft, the cheap street weed in Vietnam is 100 times stronger, as I've just reconfirmed, I won't be wasting my hard earned on it in Thailand again, unless I can find a proper Thai stick purveyor, I knew one on Samui and also one in Ao Nang, proper old skool no BS high as a kite stuff.
Finally able to quit after 40 years of daily use and a mild stroke. Have to say my creativity level has gone down but my productivity and overall health have gone up. To each their own.

I'm 72 & have been smoking weed since I was 18. How it has changed through the year!!. The stuff we smoked when I was young wouldn't get a fly high now. I don't smoke as much as I used to but, still enjoy it.
Feel sorry for all the investors, thai people who are going to be effected by it😢... It will just drive up a black market again. Sounds like a move of thai traditional medicin, how about a medical doctor in thailand? Can he/she give a prescription? We have to remember that words, idea looks different in thailand !😅
Most likely nothing will change on the back end. If you live or have lived in Thailand you will know they like to make a big deal about changing laws but nothing is ever enforced. Take a stroll down Sukhumvit in BKK.
Seeing the comments there, I'll be the ugly duckling! There ought to be some kind of regulation. The last two years the arrival of hundreds of stores selling weed was a bit like an invasion of locusts, way too many shops in certain streets in Bangkok, Phuket or Koh Samui, and with this sweetish smell floating in the air that I personally find quite unpleasant.
I am from the Netherlands, but I don't smoke weed. I hate the smell tbh. Is weed smoked a lot on the streets at this moment? Or only in homes (which is fine by me). Wouldn't want to be confronted by the smell of weed everywhere I go in Thailand...
Walking the area around Nana Plaza there is often the smell of weed. Similar to Amsterdam. Including this Wonderland store, there's many stores between Nana Plaza and Nana BTS.
i Thailand you can't smoke in public, so either people smoke in businesses that allow it or they smoking it at home or in a private setting. personally i would move to Thailand tomorrow if the streets started smelling like weed, but dont worry the only strong smells you get are of thai street food vendors

Very good story and inspiring bro!
Happy for you getting to live a good life.

Weed should be legal globally. I’m from Canada and I can’t imagine a world where it’s illegal again.
Someone should propose liquor prohibition. See how the beer and liquor companies like it.
its the alcohol companies who lobby to ban things like weed etc. alcohol does more damage than anything else.

Also seems great for Thailand's farmers and the economy in general- there's much more money to be made from growing weed plants than from sugar cane, for instance.

I smoke but I'm so sick of this miracle cure attitude. If you seriously have chronic back issues, cannabis isn't doing shit to help it. Especially not to the point you're able to walk all over Bangkok.
I agree, I've never once had weed help with pain, not once. And I've tried. And we're talking pain that wasn't even that bad. lol
Alcohol, MDMA and shrooms on the other hand, you won't have pain. But alcohol is a big problem, not good for anything other than extreme circumstances. The other two, well, it depends, as long as you're not going to be driving or anything, no problem.
Or you could exercise regularly rather than think like an American and ask what pill can I take so I can sit on my fat arse and eat burgers.
The miracle cure attitude is in response to the reefer madness attitude.

People were having way too much fun ! That can't happen because misery loves company !
They are probably trying to get rid of the trashy weed scene. Good.

I’m in this exact situation! Booked to go middle of Nov for 3 weeks. I was really excited to be visiting such a beautiful and spiritual country and REALLY being able connecting to it all.
@@laughingoutloud8612 sorry to hear that, at least I made no solid plans yet (my trip last year was pretty much on a whim lol a perk of living in South Asia) but if there is some super stringent reversal of the current status quo then my next trip will definitely need a lot more convincing. That being said, I definitely agree with the video that whatever happens, the cat's already out of the bag, the train's left the station, and the genie can't be just put back into the bottle.
Chris, thanks for the very timely video. A question that I would really like to hear the answer to, if you know or if you hear a good explanation of, is, what happened politically or otherwise behind the scenes to cause this turnaround or discussion of turnaround in the marijuana situation? I mean, it's a hell of a turnaound to go from handing out a million plants to then make it illegal to grow those plants! gggg

Thank you Chris for this great interview. We are heading to Thailand in February and we would like to know if the law has changed already? Or can we still enjoy some weed in Thailand? Many thanks!
Pretty sure it's still the same for now you can buy it anywhere. Even if it wasn't sold in normal shops, you can still go to certain sois and find it I'm sure, just like you can find illegal edibles everywhere

Times change. Always.
Amazing

I live in canada we're allowed to grow four plants a year.. No need to go to any legal stores
👍
Yup, right on!
Agree. I was in Thailand for the first time for a few years (I live in Vietnam) and couldn't believe all the weeds stores in Chiang mai. I'm not sure that having them everywhere with no zoning really benefits the community and tourism on the whole.
Right - how many Thais and people have invested a lot into their shops and farms, and now at risk of just losing all that? What a tease

Great interview my dear friend ❤
speaking as a californian, the californian model is really broken. the fees and permits and beauracracy mean only the biggest players can afford to be a part of the system, and the smaller growers have a tough time even breaking even, most don't even try to participate in the legal market. anyone who isn't a part of the legal market is still treated like a criminal. dispensary weed is usually low quality because of the scale it is grown on without any of the care and love and with very high prices. many california growers have left for other states (and probably places like thailand) because it is hard to make a living here in the legal market. it's disappointing that things are changing in thailand in this way, the current openness should be a model for everyone else to follow. the plant should be free
True
Never seen a weed smoker go into a fit of rage, alcohol use? Absolutely yes.
I don't understand your comment. Are you saying you've seen a weed smoker go into a raging fit?
There ought to be some kind of regulation.
