Thanks for this! The arcade treasure videos are my absolute favorite. Was having a rough day but when I saw this had dropped, I took a breather to soak in the pixellated goodness and it really helped my mood. I really appreciate what you do, man, keep it up!
Oh man, I would have loved Double Axel back in the day if I had ever found one of the machines. I loved the original Monster Truck Madness games on PC.
Kuri Kinton was awesome! I loved the power-up where if you held the punch button down, you could shoot an energy ball. Helped out right before a big fight. I never understood why that game didn't get more love. Another underrated one you don't hear much about was Blood Warriors. It had some memorable characters and you always got a fatality.
Sega Lord X 13:11 this game was available for the home market in Japan on the Wii shop under the Virtual Arcade section. For those who have a modded Wii, you can find the wad for this game pretty easily.
Back in the day my arcade had a Zombie Raid machine and I loved it. The light guns were shotguns that you had to pump to reload. I swear that cabinet contributed to my carpal tunnel issues but it was worth it, I would love to track down a machine to put in my collection.
This was SICK. I consider myself a hardcore arcade gamer, with it still being my favourite genre 40 years later. I did arcades heavily from around age 12 through 25, and I don't know ANY of these games except for Joe & Mac/Hero Tomna. What a surprise!
Love coming back to this series to get inspiration for what Arcade game to try out on Fightcade or Mame when I can. Hope to see more of this in the future. :) Always love the arcade content.
@SegaLordX great picks! I am putting a Pi 4 Mame Arcade cabinet together this weekend a lot of these are already on my list but I will look for the others.
Double Axle used to be in the lineup at one my local retro arcades. In fact, I spent some good time learning the game and that helped me win said arcade's racing game tournament back in 2017. Though my prowess in OutRun also helped seal my victory.
Love this series. There were more than a few of these games that I was not aware of. Thanks for bringing them into the attention of video games fans. Keep doing a job this good, it is really important for the preservation of the hobby.
I remember playing double axle, didn't know the name but I just had in my head, this was a great fun game, thanks for the new episode!👍😃 Thanks Sega Lord X for another great adventure
Double Axle... Never encountered that one in the arcade back in the day! Gonna check that out. Have to slightly disagree when you said there should have been a Sega CD port. The Saturn would have been able to reproduce that perfectly. I am currently playing the Japanese import of Power Drift on Saturn which is very similar in graphics and game play and it is virtually arcade perfect! Luv the Saturn. 😁 Another fun vid!! Thanks 👍🎮
So many memories with ALIENS, Cadillacs and Dinosaurs, The Combatribes, Wild West C.O.W.-Boys of Moo Mesa, The Punisher, and Robocop. Also the G.I. Joe game that was similar to Space Harrier & Steel Gunner :) As well as Bucky O'Hare, Captain America & the Avengers, and Spider-Man the Video Game with Black Cat & Namor (Sub-Mariner) as playable characters.
Love your arcade treasures videos! And you're right, emulation is the way to go to play these rarities! I have to go back and watch your past videos so I remember what to try out and play.
I see you mentioned battle bakraid, one of my favorite shooters i play on mame. I love anything that raizing made, armed police batrider is my personal fav. They also had a penchant for making incredible music for their shooters, nobody does it better than raizing. with the exception of technosoft of course, hyper duel being a damn good example
I don't know if you've ever played it, but I recommend you (and everyone reading this) try out the Asterix arcade game by Konami. I really think it's among the best beat 'em ups of the era. Knowing the property adds to it, but it's not at all mandatory.
every time i come back to this great channel i´m surprised it´s not at least a million subs yet. it´s criminally underrated. you covered a lot of sega thoroughly already but have you thought about doing short documentarys on sega, games, personel, decion makers, development processes of games etc? i know it´s a lot of work and maybe not your personal interest but you´re a good writer and presenter and i would really like to see that.
hey segalord! as always another great video :) i don’t know if you take video suggestions but do you know if it’s in the cards for a video on the cancelled castlevania dreamcast game to be made? thank you for all the fantastic content! have a good one
The effort you put in to knowing the actual games along with the history must take a huge effort even if you knew the games back then. Your work of art- 'Arcade Spotlight - Daytona USA' video was superb amongst others. I think a collaboration on a SEGA project/review with Digital Foundry is a must for ALL Sega/Retro fans- Gameplay And Performance Shown....

I didn't know the "Joe & Mac" Games were on the switch? Thank you. I would love To see a new video compiling all the great arcade games that are now available on the switch. I would much appreciate it!🙏 Incidentally, it would be cool If you could do a retrospective on the software developers "Warp"? Thank you!👍✌
Dude so glad you brought this back. Really. Im not knocking all the other sega stuff I've grown to love more and more thanks to you, from Master system throughout Saturn and dreamcast... however, please take us to arcade treasures # 505... seriously.
My heart skipped a beat when I saw you posted another one of these. These are amazing!! Because I (and apparently so many other people) value your opinion, how about an episode on gaming moments? As in your favorite gaming moments from your history of gaming. A couple of mine (for example)... the snowy hill run from level 2 of Strider...or the first time playing the water level in Donkey Kong Country
Great video. Have to check out some of these arcade games. Fire Barrel was one I saw recently that looks great. I didnt know about Horror Story on PC Engine so will check that out too. I played through the arcade version a while ago. Finest Hour looks interesting. Played through Target Earth a while ago. Great game. Still want to work on the second one for Saturn soon.
Oh man, what another good video Mel. That Monster Truck game looks to be the shit right there. Lots of games that I've never ever heard of here, so I'm glad they're brought to light. Can't wait for another Arcade Treasures video man. Keep up the good work!
Great video, loving the content. One game I was kind of surprised not to see on this list was another Title by Irem called Atomic Robo Kid, side-scrolling shooter with upgrades where the main character is a flying tin can of a robot with an elephant snout. Visuals and sounds are good, on par with other games of this type of the Era and definitely worth a look. I don't believe it ever saw a home release so you'd have to play it through mame, but if you liked what you played here, you might like Atomic Robo Kid
Awesome job as always Sega Lord X...was curious what MAME set are you using? You seem to find something new and exciting for me to look for every time I tune into this sometimes the WHOLE list lol keep up the great work.

If you like Battle Bakraid you'll definitely want to check out Armed Police Batrider (my favorite shmup of all time) if you haven't already. I got here in Brazil the psone port of angel eyes,And i love this game and how use the 3D model and 2D together. The history was in japanes but i finish the game with many characters open the evil form of Hayka.

I don't know if you've played Go! Go! Mile Smile but it's a fun hidden gen where it's a part Pac-Man and part Snake. The object is to clear all the gems in the level but what makes it unique IMHO is the boss fights which are really fun to play.

I blew my way through so many quarters playing the shooter "Heavy Unit" by Taito back in the late 80s. Such a great game!
Back in the day my arcade had a Zombie Raid machine and I loved it. The light guns were shotguns that you had to pump to reload. I swear that cabinet contributed to my carpal tunnel issues but it was worth it, I would love to track down a machine to put in my collection.
They were awesome cabinets to be sure. Unfortunately they tended to be broken a lot, too.
This is crazy! I just watched Volume 4 again at 3am today and here’s volume 5!!! AWESOME!!!
Haha. That's some pretty good timing.

I was always a Nintendo guy when it came down to it, but I've been enjoying seeing things from "the other side" of the Nintendo vs Sega era.
