Amazing! I’m such a noob and I managed to fix this on my own. Thanks to your video. It is super helpful. I just saved $100. 🎉
Glad it helped!
Amazing. I had sent my first one back under warranty. When it happened again I was so pleased to find this video. Even though there looked to be nothing wrong, it fixed it. I just used an alcohol cleaner.
Thank you SO MUCH for this!
My thermometer didn't have the same problem yours had; the problem my thermometer had, was that it wouldn't switch on AT ALL!
I thought I might as well give your video a try, before purchasing a new thermometer. I had an idea that the issue was due to a battery leak.
I followed your instructions for opening the case, and what did I see?
Although the 'motherboard?' was entirely clean; there appeared to be leaked battery fluid on the inner battery contacts (the inside of my model, is slightly different from your own, with one flat battery contact, running along the width of the device).
I wiped this down, and reassembled the device; it is now WORKING PERFECTLY .
THANK YOU so much for posting this, you have saved me some money, and prevented a savable device from ending up on the scrap heap!
P.s,
I didn't have the contact cleaning spray, so used a spray for disinfecting electrical items (e.g. clippers, shavers etc, on a sterile device wipe), with a toothpick to assist with lifting dome of the battery fluid debris).
Our Braun Thermoscan had totally stopped working, even when we put new batteries in. Followed Solomon’s 10 minute video, excellent detailed instructions that were easy to follow and wow! Fixed!! Thank you so much! 🤒
I had a different issue in that the thermometer was reading too high but after disassembling I happened to notice what looked like a tiny hair on a square sensor below the ear part, but after removing this it started working correctly again. Thanks for the tips on disassembly - mine is butchered now from the screwdriver but at least it takes the temp! 👍
Thank you very much for the guide. I followed the steps and my Thermoscan is working again. $100 saved!
You're welcome. Share the youtube link with your friends 😊
Watched your video and to my amazement it was exactly the same issue. Alcohol, qtip and a wooded toothpick allows me to use the thermometer again ! Thanks for saving me some money and stopping this device from the dump!
Thank you sooo much... this solution worked perfect for my Braun Thermoscan problem. Your video just saved me $100 😃 and saving the environment from receiving unnecessary electronic waste.
It wasn't working for 1 year, it's working now. Thanks a lot...
You're welcome 😊
My 10 yr old Braun Thermoscan would turn on and off continously. I am happy I found the video before putting it in the garbage. Thank you sir, great video!

Thank you very much! I've seen oxidation on battery contacts before, but never on the circuit board. It never occurred to me to check there. Your video was very helpful. I don't have to waste money on a new thermometer now!
Glad it helped
It worked!! saved my $159 for a new one! Thank you so much for the video! But I coudn't find the LPS Micro-X off the shelf. Instead, i used a 70% alcohol wipe, and cleaned it carefully. Anyways, you've earned a subscriber!👍👍👍👍👍

Totally worked. Saved me from
Having to buy a new thermometer. Thanks!!!
Terrific advice, thank you. Didn't have contact cleaner, so used a Q-Tip on the contacts. Worked perfectly.
My issue was different, temperature was too high all the time, and after a while I got a system error. But even though I couldn't find anything when disassembling, after I reassembled it started working properly again. So thanks for the disassembly instructions. They really helped.
Thanks a lot. Didn’t work the first time. Then out of desperation, opened it again and wiped more thoroughly. And voila it worked like a charm. Thanks again!
Thank you so much, excellent presentation, you saved me buying another thermometer, best wishes

Can I use WD40 for cleaning?
No if it's WD40 lubricant oil. Yes if it's the new WD40 contact cleaner.

Mine is the same model. It shows an alternating oC and oF Set error code that is persistent despite attempts of pressing other buttons. Even after cleaning the internal electrical contacts, the thermometer buttons still do not respond. I guess it is totally spoilt.
Thanks

@2:15 your screw is so much longer than mine, despite of the same model i am holding with me
Hmm.. why is that so? I wonder
The screw is a T6
I can't take out the screw😢
You need a star shaped screwdriver. It's also called a torx screwdriver.
Braun Ear Thermometers are really bad bad bad quality. I've 5 of them. All of them are dead one by one in just a couple of years.
