These are the most important steps when starting out drawing the head. I consider these the "gesture" to a head drawing.

Watching this made my jaw drop. Thank you so much for helping out other artists !
Glad you enjoyed it!
I started to gasp as I continued the video and all the years of not understanding perspectives of head I finally do thank you so much ❤️❤️❤️ I was sleepy while watching this but woke up when things clicked together
Thank you so much. Your figure drawing book has been a life saver for me amidst the ocean of "master anatomy in 7 minute" videos on youtube. Taking the time to make these videos to supplement the learning is awesome. Am grateful.
Glad it helped!
Someone on 4Chan recommended to watch your videos for art and they were absolutely right, you helped me understand why my anatomy drawings are stiff 🙏🏾🙏🏾❤️❤️
Dad bought your book for me when I was thirteen, and I wasn’t smart enough to figure how to use it… until now. Your knowledge and writing is superb and I have loved using your book. Bless you!
I’m so happy I found your channel, the way you explain and simplify things down understandable to me and it clicks very well 😊
It was only after I started drawing figures that I realized the genius of this week 1 head simplification. It communicates all the necessary information, takes VERY few strokes to get down, and is easy to rotate with a little perspective knowledge. Thanks for this!
Whats week 1?
this is easier than the Loomis method, i don't know why the hell people always use the loomis
It's kinda like why people study Michaelangelo, sure, contemporary methods are objectively better, but it had to come from somewhere and to know how it got there helps us understand better.
Isn't this just simplified loomis method
I know this is a rhetorical question, but I think Loomis is just an older, more established method. I honestly found out about Michael from other drawing RUclipsrs. I’m sure in a few years the Hampton method will be more commonly mentioned with Loomis et al.
😊
“my poorly drawn skulls are here…” 😳 Uh yeah, don’t look at my skull drawings. 😂 in all seriousness, this is super helpful! I will pick up the book as I have heard great things.
Thank you Michael for what you do
My pleasure :)
You are a great teacher and these lessons help me a lot :) I'm building a portfolio for college admission and I'm so glad that I can learn from your videos, and get better at drawing :)
So great to hear! Good luck to you
hi michael, thank you so much. I have your book and I'm learning more along with your videos. thank you so much
Still have a long way to go but thanks to you it’s clearer. Thanks,
Best explanation I’ve ever seen. Thanks a lot!
I have been searching something like this, you are a master drawing, keep doing well
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed
Omg how did I just find out about your channel!?!
"Like the exorcist" has me dead
You're incredible
Thank you 🙏

Thanks from France and take care !
So glad you're finding it useful!!!
I’m taking this “don’t learn to draw with anime” shit serious…
Poorly drawn skulls? Sheesh this is gorgeous to me lol
Hi Michael, I couldn't find in your book, would you please share your photoshop brush settings?
I use the photoshop stock round and soft brush. I turn on "transfer" and "shape dynamics." That's it!
21:58 i tried to copy example, when i start construct head with complete circle or elipse, result were different, depend what i start with it
Keep at it! It takes some time to get the hang of it
