Hello Beth, i'm writting a thesis on the book of proverbs, and sometimes i need to transliterate the hebrew to portuguese, to emphasise the soundplay for example; but i already saw many different example of transliteration, some of them using more complex simbols as ' and an elevated "a" etc, others don't use them as Alter who writtes the word "tahbulot" like this in english, with no complex symbols beyond the letters themselves. Do have any recommendation where i could learn some rules of transliteration? Thank you so much. And thanks for your videos, i've finished all of them today, and will be going back and rewatch them.

There are lots of different transliteration systems, but I can recommend this book: www.google.com.mx/books/edition/A_Biblical_Hebrew_Reference_Grammar/91c4DwAAQBAJ?hl=en&gbpv=1&printsec=frontcover In sections 4.1 and 5.1 of chapter 2 you can find charts for how to transliterate the consonants and vowels, and I believe this system is quite standard in academia. It does require finding a keyboard that will allow you to type those special symbols. Unfortunately, it looks like the very pages you need are not included in this preview, so you may have to find them elsewhere, but I hope that helps!

v'qatal forms are strange to me. I can listen to episode 20 and understand everything cause they are so close to qatal forms. But it's clear from trying to do this quiz that I have not internalized these forms--needed to pause and think after nearly every question.
