This video is still helping in Dec. 2024. We were given a like new LG gas stove. We hooked it up to propane and knew immediatly something was not right. Looked under the bottom drawer and found a little bag that had the conversion kit. Your video helped the wife and I get the conversion installed in about an hour. The stove top and oven are perfect now. Thank you.
Great video - I was able to follow this to convert my own range when Home Depot refused to do the conversion. One hint - a standard socket is so deep that when you try to replace the burner orifices, they sink into the socket and will not engage the threads. I took the first orifice I removed and reversed it into the socket all the way - then the replacement will only go in far enough to keep the threads out far enough to engage the burner socket. When done, you can remove that old orifice and save it with the others in case you need to convert back to NG at a later date.
I have a similar model LG but it's a dual burner (I think they call it that) where the top is gas and the oven is electric. But the stove top is identical to mine. I was about to call a gas guy to do the conversion to LP, but after watching your video I did it myself. I really appreciate the simple and to-the-point explanation with no UUUUHHMMs, AAAAHHHHHs and too much introduction. Just get to it and hands-on.... DONE! Thank you for your video!!!
I've had my double oven LG stove setup so wrong since it was installed:( No one was available to fix, this is since 2017, it never occurred to me to try look it up on you tube:) which I'm very greatful I'll save this video and will try myself since husband turns the other way every time I ask him to fix it...I can't use my ovens, the ignition doesn't work etc. Paid to much money for this stove and no one has fix it up for me, so I'll show them! lol:) Thank you sir, for this so helpful video and the best I've seen.
Just now getting my appliances. These series of videos were very useful. Thanks so much for showing all the details. I'm going to have two 40 gallon/pound tanks, so I can handle them myself.

Dude, thank you for your video. The wife and I recently bought a new LG stove/oven from Best Buy and the conversion directions were lacking. Your video saved my ass. Thanks again, you freakin rock!
Excellent video! Your narration and videographer illustrate the process in concise but complete detail. I would be dropping the brass orifice out of the socket on removal and replacement.
@@RobertsonsBellyAcres Rusty, i take your name from the comment below. I am currently installing the same model range you did there so this video helped out extensively in my case. However the reason im in this, is due that i couldn't find a gas leak on my previous stove of the same model. There is spark, there is propane, and all of the sudden it stopped turning on, noteven with the help of a lighter. A tech came by and sid it was the gas header by the knobs that has a leak, so i went in there by the headerto snoop the leak out, but couldn't find it. Do you have any advice? I guess i want to repair it and make use of it elsewhere.
Had no idea how to do this... thank you for showing us how to do it. Have a wonderful day and will be looking forward to your next video on setting up the stove for propane 👍😁
He may catch my point below when the Range is actually fired up, but if you have got yours this far please read my comment. Fairly good video, but as with most, one very important detail was missed. The minimum flame for the burners was missed. When the burner is turned to low, it will actually only go to medium as it is still set for Natural gas. To finish the job, at each burner, turn it to low, then pull each burner knob off the shaft. There is a very small screw inside the shaft, slowly turn it in till a small minimum flame is reached, the flame is still consistent all the way around. To check it, turn the flame to high, quickly turn it to low and the flame will quickly drop in size but not go out. If it does then increase the minimum flame size slightly. Do the rest of the burners and you will have a full range of flame size, instead of just high to medium. If the stove is near open windows or excessive draft from a range hood, the minimum flame may also need to be increased slightly. If your range has a dual burner, the second screw will be near the first. Read the instruction book in this instance. Enjoy the nice small simmer setting when done.
Thank you! This was not mentioned in the manual. I will definitely have to do this! Thank you for watching and for letting us in on the details of how to finish the adjustment! Thank you for watching! -Rusty
@@tbill8067 typically on Propane you open the air shutter all the way open. If the base of the flame starts to lift away from the burner you can slowly close the air shutter till the flame sits at the burner, at that point the flame should still be blue with maybe a slight yellow tip at the end, it is a balance to minimize the yellow tip and keep the flame from lifting. If you can’t balance it and you have the adjustable orifice instead of the fixed orifice you may not have screwed it down all the way, but do not over tighten it, you should be able to feel where it bottoms out, better to open it up a quarter to half turn and then tighten it back down till you feel it get snug. That way you can also see the effect on the flame at the same time.
Great video. I was having an issue with my LG dual fuel stove high btu burner in a new construction home. The builders plumber switched out the orifices; however, didn't install the choke tube. I found it in the bag of parts and put it in, now it's perfect! Thank you, sir!

@@RobertsonsBellyAcres Seriously cannot thank you again for this video, Sourced the Correct Nozzel's from Sears Direct flipped the cap on the regulator and were cooking again ! Great video and very helpful. A couple of caveats… the burner coils are VERY DEKICATE. When I went to screw the burner back into place after replacing the orifice, I accidentally pushed against the coil (it’s like a porous pumice stone) and it broke. The drilled hole from the factory were slightly off so I hade to put the screw in at an angle and pushed where I shouldn’t have pushed. Now waiting for part:( I couldn’t find a magnetized socket head so kept a flexible magnet tool handy and lifted the orifices out of the small whole. No big deal but glad I had it.
It really is an easy job but if you don't know you need to switch it can be costly! Rachel does do a great job with that camera! Thanks for watching! -Rusty
A note when converting the oven and broiler when the burner tubes are out of the way. make a point not to touch the hot surface ignitor element with your fingers or hands. The oils off of your hands, or any oils for that matter, will reduce the life of the ignitor.
Thank you so much! Rusty’s DIYs and Step By Steps do very well! Just have to remember to slow down and record them because it’s like you said, we take it for granted that if we know, everyone knows.

Helo , congratulaciones you video is really good, please help me, my ranger is 2023 LG , and the rear 2 burnes ,the flam is tu big I can’t regulater, thanks
Thanks for the video. How do you hook a 5lb propane tank to the oven.......is there a special line with fittings for a propane tank on one end and the correct thread for the stove on the other?
Thank you for this video! It was very helpful as I just got the LG instaview oven and had to convert to propane. The instructions (for me) weren’t that great as far as the oven goes.... they say to adjust the shutter (for the broiler) but I’m really confused because it looks open (to me) the opening is facing the front of the stove. Is that right? Thank you again for the awesome tutorial. God bless!
Converting to LP typically requires a shutter adjustment, and is called for in the instructions for my new LG stove, which I will receive in a few days. In theory, the shutter adjustment is made to get the flame where there are short, yellow tips on the flame (NOT long smokey ones!). Based on the top burner construction, there are no shutters to adjust - the "choke" serves the same purpose on the big power burner. That leaves the oven burners, which, if they have shutters, may need adjustment. When I install my unit, I will try to report back. BTW, with the exception of the shutter question, you have made a first class video! Your skill - especially your soft touch on the wrenches - knowledge and safe practices makes this a winner.
Thank you for your comments! In the instructions of this particular model it did not mention the need for shutter adjustment in the oven. Good luck with your new appliance! Thank you for watching!
Unfortunately I do not have the parts list. The parts I used came with the stove. You might check the back of your stove. It might be attached to the gas regulator. Good luck! Thank you for watching!
Sorry for the slow response but I would pull one of the orifices that is in the stove and see if they are lettered as well. If so match them up and replace. If not I would try to match them up best you can by eye…. Thank you for watching!
what about the shutter adjustments and if you have a pair of calipers could you measure the I.D. of a couple of the orifices? so we can compare the lp to the nat gas hole size so we can tell if our oven has the lp installed already or if the natural gas orifices are installed. i bought my lg lssg3017st used and its not working right. the ovens center bake burner and also the broiler seem to have a real low gas flame. i can see it trickle and almost go out. i bought a pressure regulator and even the safety valve it attaches too (which did nothing as stove operates the same before i changed those items) i dont get any error codes and the top part of the stove appears to be working. does something adjust how much gas comes into the oven burner of is it just like an open and close thing? i mean why is my oven working but it dont seem to be getting enough gas. ill share a video i made with the covers off the main bake burner ruclips.net/video/G8CltYX8U6c/видео.html to me it looks like the oven is having a hard time staying lit almost like there isnt enough pressure but i just changed the pressure regulator. do you think my homes natural gas has the correct pressure? im confused and any help you might be able to add would be great! thanks and great video. would be nice to see you adjust shutters in another video maybe...
Unfortunately I am out of state right now. The only thing I can think of is pull the orifice out of the oven and see if it has a letter or number stamped on it. I'd it does compare that to the video. Does your regulator have the choke tube in the inlet side? If you are wanting natural gas then the choke should be removed. When removing the orifice from the oven be careful not to touch the ignitor with your bare hands as the natural oils on your skin can cause premature failure. Hope this helps! Good luck!
Does the gas stove have a long enough electric cord in back to reach the outlet on your wall?Or do I need a extension cord?Thinking of buying this model .Thank you for your time.
How did you get the orifices for the top burners out/in without dropping them? I feel like I'm going to drop them down into no man's land when I do this.
I was fortunate that I had the right size socket and they fit snug in it. Otherwise you may need to see if you can get a magnetic socket to hold them in place. I understand nthe fear! Lol Good luck!
I dont understand seems like they gave us orifices for all four top burners, but you only changed LF ? Also on the oven orifice change, maybe put cardboard or a rag over that hole so you don't lose it!
@@RobertsonsBellyAcres , thank you are answer at my? I did it by myself and first time...just women+instructions=many ? So, I installed hose from grill with regulator, but not been shure...

Does anyone have this model range that they converted to LP and have the NG orifices' they took off? I'll buy them from you!!!!

SOS - HELP, I have a new Samsung gas range and none of the burners go to simmer - even though the instructions point out the back two burners are simmer. Yes, I converted from Natural to lp, changed the orifaces and all seems well. EXCEPT even after I remove the burner knob and turn the screw all the way to the left, there is little to no change in the size of the flame. Any ideas? Thank you
Unfortunately I do not have an answer for this problem. Our stove does not have the screws to adjust the flame. Sorry we can't help. Good luck and when you find the answer please share the knowledge with us! Have a blessed day!
Be careful handling that igniter. I noticed your thumb was touching the broil igniter. The oils from your fingers will cause it to go out or break. It’s very brittle

Sorry for the slow response but I would pull one of the orifices that is in the stove and see if they are lettered as well. If so match them up and replace. If not I would try to match them up best you can by eye…. Thank you for watching!
what about the shutter adjustments and if you have a pair of calipers could you measure the I.D. of a couple of the orifices? so we can compare the lp to the nat gas hole size so we can tell if our oven has the lp installed already or if the natural gas orifices are installed. i bought my lg lssg3017st used and its not working right. the ovens center bake burner and also the broiler seem to have a real low gas flame. i can see it trickle and almost go out. i bought a pressure regulator and even the safety valve it attaches too (which did nothing as stove operates the same before i changed those items)
i dont get any error codes and the top part of the stove appears to be working.
does something adjust how much gas comes into the oven burner of is it just like an open and close thing? i mean why is my oven working but it dont seem to be getting enough gas.
ill share a video i made with the covers off the main bake burner
ruclips.net/video/G8CltYX8U6c/видео.html
to me it looks like the oven is having a hard time staying lit almost like there isnt enough pressure but i just changed the pressure regulator.
do you think my homes natural gas has the correct pressure?
im confused and any help you might be able to add would be great!
thanks and great video. would be nice to see you adjust shutters in another video maybe...
Good luck!
Thanks RBA!! Just followed your lead on our new 5823D and she's burning like a champ. Ultraheat burner does away with the choke tube... Awesome!
Hope this was helpful! Thank you for watching!
Does the gas stove have a long enough electric cord in back to reach the outlet on your wall?Or do I need a extension cord?Thinking of buying this model .Thank you for your time.
The cord will reach if the outlet is right behind the stove. It reaches the floor fine too. Thanks so much for watching!!
Can anybody tell me where to find this kit? I think I've found the burners but no luck on the oven parts
I hope you were able to find the parts! Maybe Amazon?
I have a question what happens if the ring you put on the front right burner isnt tight enough
After this converted does the LP tank still need a regulator or can i just connect a straight hose to the range without regulator ?
You will definitely still need a regulator on the tank. If you bypass this it could blow out the regulator on the stove.
@@RobertsonsBellyAcres Thank you much 4 replied.will do.
@@RobertsonsBellyAcres , thank you are answer at my?
I did it by myself and first time...just women+instructions=many ?
So, I installed hose from grill with regulator, but not been shure...
Hey all! Great video. I have a LG LSSG3016ST range that is setup for LP and I need to convert it back to NG. LG does not have a kit for this and I need to source the parts separately. Does anyone have this model range that they converted to LP and have the NG orifices' they took off? I'll buy them from you!!!!
Good luck and thank you for watching!
How do you adjust the Minimum Flame Setting on the range burners?
That is something that I cannot tell you. Mine was pre adjusted with no adjuster screws visible. Sorry I can't give you better advice! Have a blessed day!
What do I do of i have dropped the piece down the hole in back :(
Look on the floor. That's were mine fell out.
Have a blessed day!
thank my frend save my live 👍
I don't suppose you'd know of a video to switch a model #LRG30355ST?
I'm so sorry but I don't know if one. Good luck! Thank you for watching!
Be careful handling that igniter. I noticed your thumb was touching the broil igniter. The oils from your fingers will cause it to go out or break. It’s very brittle
I noticed that when we edited the video. Yes it is very brittle and I got lucky with that one for sure! Thanks for watching! -Rusty
would you be willing to sell me the natural gas parts? I am thinking of purchasing a lg that was converted to propane and wish to switch it back.
I am sorry but I just cant part with them. Just incase we ever need to switch back to Natural gas. Thank you for watching!
ARE THE ORFICES HIDDEN IN THE UNIT SOMEWHERE
The orifices on our were in a baggie on the back of the stove by the regulator. Hopefully this helps! Good luck and thank you for watching!
