Lassen is very underrated for a national park. Was there last month. We need more Randomland visits to national parks. Great video, keep up the good work.
Wonderful seeing you and Ally. Never seen anything like that national park. Amazing sights and seeing the steam coming up and the bubbling gray mud. There’s a lot of beauty and awe inspiring scenery. Thank y’all for sharing this with us. Good to try to keep distracted and not dwell on what was supposed to happen. Feel so bad for y’all about that. Ally deserves to have the wedding that she wants. It’ll be worth the long wait. Love you guys and pray for y’all. God bless you both
California Disney had a mention of Lassen Peak in the Park. Not sure if they still do. The National Park used to have a ski resort in it...it was closed and has been demo in the last few years. At 17:46 that volcano is “Chaos Crags” it partially collapsed and created that debris field about 400 years ago.
Great video and glad you made it out of Bumpass Hell with both legs still intact...unlike stumpy ol bumpy! 😁 Our family went hiking there 3 months ago and it is a spectacular place!
Glad you and Alli were able to get to Lassen Nat'l Park. Was there in June '08. You would be happy to know that we went there after seeing a Huell Howser. It is the least visited nat'l park in CA.
Awesome. Thanks for going. I'm sorry your plans were canceled. Mt. Shasta! Thank you, I haven't seen it in way too long. And, I'm with Ally. I do what I enjoy. I don't have to compete or prove myself. Life (and hikes) are to enjoy. At your own choosing. ❤
The 1st time I went to Lassen I wondered why it's not talked about and visited more. You hear about Yosemite all the time but Lassen is just as beautiful and Majestic.
There is lots to explore in Lassen. You can go spelunking in little caves, and there is also a huge ice cave full of stalactites and stalagmites. Thanks for sharing this awesome video, Justin!
Hope you had a great time at Lassen. If you are still in the Redding area go to the Shasta Caverns ( if they are open ) glad to see you up here, I left LA in 72 never want to go back.
19:36 Wow I've never seen Shasta with so little snow! It's crazy how different it looks from the times I've climbed it in April and May. Nice LOTR joke at the end btw
you have taken us on so many fun and exciting adventures. Teaching us so much along the way. But this vlog was truly incredible as I had no idea that a place like this even existed and I lived in Oakland for years. Even Yellowstone didn't seem this fascinating. Thanks for helping us to forget about the Virus for a little time. P.S. Ally's hair looks fabulous.
Pretty close to where I grew up. A few field trips in school were spent here lol I distinctly remember that sulfur smell. So strong. We even climbed Lassen itself once. So pretty, great way to spend an otherwise sad time. Hope you get to tie the knot next year!
Love Lassen! I was once a skeptic of Yellowstone and the geotheromal focused nature stuff as being kinda a novelty, but Yellowstone is really amazing. It has the geothermal features but so much more. It's really a varied landscape. Great video, I'm sure Bumpass would be proud.
I was in Yellowstone this August so this looks all eerily familiar. Very cool, I hope to get out to see some California Natl parks next year sometime. Great video.
Hey Justin, just came upon your videos/channel last week. They have quickly become some of my favorite videos to watch, which is saying a lot. Keep up the good work. Look forward to your future videos and watching your past videos. And October 2021 will be here before you know it, I know it's a bummer, but hang in there.
I have been to Lassen Park many times. I learned to walk there in the early 60's. I have even climbed to the top of Lassen Peak and signed my name in the book when I was 6 or 7. My favorite park.
Smell the Geology! We went there for a week long class field trip. 4 of us and a teacher went to the top of Broke Off. The rest of the class went to the top of Lassen. We, got a sun tan/sun burn, ...they, got a thunderstorm, and had to flee the summit sopping wet. ( I still have the pictures of the thunderstorm over Mt. Lassen ...from our nice, dry, sunny hike... 😊 (They were angry at us for weeks afterward.) 🤣
Justin, I used to go to Mount Lassen On the way to see my grandmother in Dunsmuir, even hiked up the mountain at one time. I don’t know if you knew it because he didn’t say so in your video, but on your way to Mount Lassen you’re actually inside an old extinct volcano called Mount Tahoma that collapsed within itself ages ago. When that volcano collapsed then Mount Lassen became the new volcano as it was just a vent at the time.
Bumpass really hasn't changed since I was there in the 70s with the exception of the trails. Love the adventure today, thank you. The entire Cascade Range is full of interesting places. Enjoy Mt. Shasta.
First went there in "74... not only visited the site you shared, but also climbed up to the peak. Guess what, smelled like rotten eggs also up there.... over 10000 ft. Mt Lassen is dormant, but obviously active. Thank you for sharing.....
Awesome. I love yellowstone. But yes the hydogen is a bit stinky but you will get used to it. Glacier is also awesome. Drive through at night when the bison greet you in the parking lot.
Memories....took our kids many years ago. It's a nice drive. Did you seen the "watch out for mountain lions" signs along the way up? We had one adult in front and one behind just incase lol. At the top (we climbed up the mountain)there was a stream and flowers it was lovely. Then down to the sulphur pits. Sorry about not having your wedding but it was nice to see you got out and enjoyed being together there x
Cool, I live just down the highway from the park. You really should explore more, there’s a ton of beauty to see in the park, too bad you didn’t have more time. You should come back
Isn’t lsssen just amazing? I love it up there. The geothermal features is incredible. I’ve been there twice. It’s stunningly beautiful and full of crazy volcanic activity. I’m sorry about the cancelled wedding plans but I’m glad you get to experience this place together. M friends spent their honeymoon there. If you love bumpass hell you will adore Yellowstone that everyone should experience at least once in their life. But Lassen is in the north forty of our backyard. The water is milky because of the dissolved minerals in the water. It’s hard to believe all that geothermal activity is right next to the most pristine lakes and waterfalls and rivers and forests are right next to. I’ve never been to it cuz it was closed the last couple times I’ve been there. There was a huge parking lot with a short hike to bumpass hell. Maybe that’s still closed. The hike to kings falls is pretty incredible. It’s a one way loop with a beautiful long stairs back. I live the smell of the sulfur cuz it’s like a wonderful steam facial. 😂
Oh and by the way, I had a massive headache after a recent visit to Salton Buttes Volcano area. Lasted 4 days & almost sent me to the ER pain was so strong!
I went there in September 1990, it was 70 degrees out and there was still snow higher up, we went to the boiling mud pots but it wasn't bubbling like that, I'm wondering if it's heating up down under?
Mt Shasta is a Volcano. Most of the mountains in the NorthWestern US are volcanoes. Lassen, Shasta, Hood, Jefferson, Three sisters, St Helens, Adams, Rainier, and Baker are all volcanoes within the Ring of Fire.
Yes, those boulder strewn around the crater were ejected from the hydrothermal steam explosion that created it. If you were walking around the boardwalk when that crater blew, you probably wouldn't have made it outta there without getting nailed by debris. Hydrothermal steam explosions are rare, but they can happen again at any time in the future, and pose a real risk to life for visitors.
I worked in Yellowstone for three summers and I liked the smell of the steam. I'd walk through the steam and inhale deeply, its good for your lungs :) Or maybe I'm just a crazy guy from Wyoming. Any ways, good video. Some sporting goods stores now sell small bottles of oxygen, you might look into those.
Lassen is very underrated for a national park. Was there last month. We need more Randomland visits to national parks. Great video, keep up the good work.
Yellowstone is a little piece of heaven here on earth . You gotta go at least once in your lifetime.
Very epic video. Awesome landscape and mountains.
Wow what a great video thank you very cool place take care
What a beautiful place. Thanks for sharing!
I love these videos with more Justin, and less scarred.

Fantastic adventure.

thank you Justin and Alley for taking the time to show us this. Most people in the USA will never get to see this, so thanks again.
I went to Lassen Volcanic National Park in February 2020. It was a pretty National Park with snow when I visited.
The outtakes are great. Lol
Thanks for another awesome video!
Thanks for bringing us along for the adventure!
I love that you go to places I never have heard of in California and bring them to my attention so I can go also great job justin
Awesome! Rad! Good times!!!! Reminds me of my 1980"s family trips! I love you All!
Nice video gotta Love nature.
Great video and glad you made it out of Bumpass Hell with both legs still intact...unlike stumpy ol bumpy! 😁 Our family went hiking there 3 months ago and it is a spectacular place!

Good morning Mr. Scarred
Glad you and Alli were able to get to Lassen Nat'l Park. Was there in June '08. You would be happy to know that we went there after seeing a Huell Howser. It is the least visited nat'l park in CA.
These videos = serotonin 😁❤️✌🏽
Great video of a fun adventure!!
Besides Disneyland & DCA, my favorite places are natural spaces for hiking, trail running, and exploring.

Definately go to Yellowstone someday...make sure to give yourself plenty of exploring time too

Such a neat place! You are right those geothermic places stink but are so cool! I have been to one in Iceland.

You've got to visit Yellowstone. It's breathtaking. I visited when there was snow on the ground.
Get your bumpass to Yellowstone! And plan on at least 4-5 days to really enjoy park.
I was there in1973 and it was one of my favorite places. We went to Yellowstone and Yosemite which were very over crowded but Lassen was incredible.
Pretty close to where I grew up. A few field trips in school were spent here lol I distinctly remember that sulfur smell. So strong. We even climbed Lassen itself once. So pretty, great way to spend an otherwise sad time. Hope you get to tie the knot next year!
Super!
Incredible! Ally and Justin, thank you for sharing your travels. 👍🏼🤘🏼😎
I enjoy your travel vids. Very beautiful country we have when we get out of the cities....
Yay!
Awesome you guys are like practically in my backyard I just live a little ways away in Klamath Falls
imagine how awesome this is under moonlight or in the winter.
Hi Justin I’m planning to buy a randomland hat soon and good video 👍
Awesome video, Yellowstone is so crowded. That place looks a lot cooler!!

Wow! I had no idea that this was in California. What a cool looking place.

Sounds like your primed you make a Yellowstone adventure now! But the best stuff is beyond the parking lots ...
Hey Justin! Great video! I loved your “Balance/Finding Balance” reflective speech! 13:44🥰💨 🧖🏼♀️🧖🏻🚶🏻♀️🚶🏻
Look at the SHIZE of that steam!
I am guessing you're on your way to Lava Beds National Monument. I volunteered for years there. Really miss the place!
We live in Redding about 40 min from Lassen. Great Park. Also has lakes n waterfalls.
That was amazing, it was the most beautiful thing a I’ve ever seen in my life! Wow....
We didn’t know this existed. Thanks
I've been to Yellowstone and it was incredible! Hopefully once it's safe to travel you can visit Yellowstone National Park!

so awesome!! i like this!!
Yellowstone is like nature's Disneyland - we saw elk - moose - bear - mammoth springs - geysers - mud pots - unforgettable stuff.
Awesome. I love yellowstone. But yes the hydogen is a bit stinky but you will get used to it. Glacier is also awesome. Drive through at night when the bison greet you in the parking lot.
I misunderstood. I thought this was yellowstone. Just as impressive. Thank you for sharing.

Sorry you guys had to reschedule your happy time, but glad you were able to make the best of things, despite the Aroma!
Cool stream
Cool, I live just down the highway from the park. You really should explore more, there’s a ton of beauty to see in the park, too bad you didn’t have more time. You should come back
to bad you didn't make it to Burney Falls, the water fall is the one they used in the movie Willow...

Great video!!
I love how Justin kept farting and blamed the mountains ha ha.. 😳🤣🤣🤣 Thats why Ally kept her distance🤣🤣🤣
Lassen county my home, Welcome!!
I Was there about a month ago! Did you guys get to go to the subway cave?
the more hiking related videos the better
I’ve lived in California my whole life and never knew this was here. Definitely going to be taking the family there!
Mt Shasta is a Volcano. Most of the mountains in the NorthWestern US are volcanoes. Lassen, Shasta, Hood, Jefferson, Three sisters, St Helens, Adams, Rainier, and Baker are all volcanoes within the Ring of Fire.
Nice!
and here I thought Bumpass's Hell was when His dogs ate the Christmas Turkey.
Looks a lot like Yellowstone!
Yellowstone Cubs on Disney+ 👍👍
Ally looks right at home in the elven forest
Is that the same Bumpass with the all the hound dogs from Christmas Story?
