I was just in Texas two weeks ago, I visited Waco, Dallas, Fort Worth, and the old stockyards, and of course Billy Bob’s the largest honky-tonk bar ever LOL.
You were in my backyard, San Antonio. Welcome to Texas and I'm sorry I missed you. You are very correct about the controversy of the restoration of the Alamo grounds. I'm sure compromises will be made.
You can touch the Stonehenge stones at the solstice & equinox... free access to the stones 4 times a year... I've been... hilarious fella... you cheer my all...
It's Oscar! Glad you met up! Thanks Justin! If you come back to San Antonio, I hope you visit the River Walk. Hopefully with Ally! So romantic! Ok blessings and stay safe!!!
Justin! if you're still here. you hould visit San Jose. it's HUGE! and still looks like a fort. and has a water mill in the back. .. Sidenote... San Juan, Jose, Espada, and Concepcion are still functioning parishes/churches. The interiors are run by the Diocese of San Antonio BUT the exteriors are run by the National park Service. ...also the Alamo is considered a national shrine and has an officer posted 24/7. ... i really do hope you're still here. i think you'll have fun at San Jose.
Thanks for taking us through the area. We stumbled onto Stonehenge 2 over the summer and filmed a short episode there. It is a pretty unique site. If ever in that area again, go to Bandera and check out their dinosaur park. It is small, but pretty cool. Thanks for your videos and putting a smile on our faces :) Safe travels home.
Wow, I'm super early for once. I just finished watching the other video, and then this one popped up in my notifications! It's showing that I'm the 2nd "like" on the video 😁 Anyways, thank you for this video in advanced because I know it's gonna be educational. I really want to visit the Alamo eventually. Also you're probably gonna pass through NM next, I live in Albuquerque! I've missed you every time you've driven through, and this time it wouldn't be safe to meet you anyways. Oh well, maybe next time! Drive safe Justin!! 💗
Theres a fiberglass Stonehenge in south Alabama that's an exact sized replica of the current Stonehenge dubbed "Bamahenge." It even lines up with the sunrise of the Summer Solstice. I took a look at it in 2019 and its definitely worth a stop if your in the area. The guy had Mark Cline built it, as well as dinosaurs in the woods and a 50ft Lady in the Lake also on his massive property and marina.
Other sidenote!! the ashes/remains are moved to San Fernando Cathedral. It's some blocks down Commerce Street. if you re heading to the red Torchie thing, turn right as if you're heading to El Mercado. You'll eventually see a red courthouse. the Cathedral is in that particular plaza.
ANOTHER thing! (8'D .. the RiverWalk goes UP and DOWN from Downtown. If you head south, you can hit the Mission Trail. If you head north, that's the Museum trail. sooooo... hopefully you can come back and visit all the mission while travelling down river .. you can also ride bikes down the trial too. ;'D
Wow Justin, Wish I knew you were coming down this way. I am a fan of yours and I could maybe have met up with you. My wife and I live about 30 min. north of San Antonio. I lived in southern California (Pomona, Anaheim and Tustin) but have found my way to Texas via Virginia then Pennsylvania. Hope you have a great trip.
I'd love to see them build a Bulldog cafe like in The Rocketeer, which the pig kinda looks like lol! :) I had Here I Go Again On My Own when you left Oscar. ;)
Very cool seeing the Alamo. Fun fact: thru doing a dna genealogy test in 2016 I learned I’m related to Davey Crockett. It’s all making sense why I love the outdoors now.
The "soldiers" visiting the Alamo while you were there may have been Air Force Airmen that are playing "tourist," they get a day off to go into town and explore at the end of basic training (and must be in uniform). Air Force basic training is all done in San Antonio at Lackland AFB. There are a lot of military stationed in San Antonio, at the various bases, but most likely wouldn't be at the Alamo in uniform.
IIRC, you can get closer to the stones at the Avebury henge, which, like stonehenge, is also in Wiltshire. Also, I freaking love that they have Fess Parker's gun over by Rep. Crockett's stuff. Have they exhibited PeeWee's bike at the Alamo yet?
Hey 👋 Justin! I’ve Been to the Alamo. They yelled at me too when my phone ☎️ rang & I answered it. You Can Learn about something interesting on the St Mary’s University channel. “The Sad Saga of Santa Anna’s Wooden Leg. Thnx! CJ
You should had done an episode on Buc-cee's....truly a " look at the size of that thing!!!" and sparkling clean too.... And I believe the Buc-ee's near Sealy, Texas off the 10, has the biggest car wash in the world...cuz Everything is Bigger in Texas Y'all
They are probably Airforce. They more than likely just graduated boot camp. My son graduated boot camp there and they give them tickets to see the Alamo and discount tickets to SeaWorld.
Did you ask why they had so many soldiers there? Celebration? Practice or security? Something we aren't privy to? ODD 🤨 Things are getting stranger in the US. Oh, now Stoned Hinge 2 and some stoned heads 😄 sounds like D.C. today. Especially like the ending, music, Great vid 👍
“Sunrise at The Alamo”
A sweet name for a album
Hard to believe such a tiny building has such a big history. Thank you for showing us how to appreciate the past.
I was just in Texas two weeks ago, I visited Waco, Dallas, Fort Worth, and the old stockyards, and of course Billy Bob’s the largest honky-tonk bar ever LOL.
I live in Texas, but I've never been to the Alamo, but it will be fun to go some day.
You came at a good time. The summers in San Antonio can be brutal with humidity/heat. Hopefully ya'll did some walking down the river walk.
You were in my backyard, San Antonio. Welcome to Texas and I'm sorry I missed you. You are very correct about the controversy of the restoration of the Alamo grounds. I'm sure compromises will be made.
Glad to see you mde it to Texas undiscovered and left in a flash.
Was in San Antonio in June of 2020, the Alamo was closed, they had cement blocks all around the area, so sad, really wanted to see it.
Welcome to Texas, Justin!! 👏😀👏
Never been to Texas so thanks for the awesome tour!!!😊
Been watching your channel for a few years. I never thought you’d ever come to my city. That’s awesome!

San Antonio Love ❤️! Thank you for coming to our small city and showing it some real love. Thank you 🙏
"You can chop onions as well as men!" Best line in the video Justin. Legit lol'd
Don’t feel bad. I once overheard a tourist at EPCOT ask “When do they turn on the flamingos?”

Ohhhh!!! Your in San Antonio!!! Nice bro!!!! I love here!!!! Nice that you came to visit!!!!
Seeing the Alamo and being actually in the Alamo thankfully are different things. I hope to be there someday.
As a San Antonio native who couldn't go home for the holidays this year, thank you for this!

A rainy day in Alamo town. Very interesting and sad. I hope you took a nap at least and didn't just drive 21 hours.
Very nice Alamo tour - nuff said
I wish I would have known you were going to my home town!! I so would have met you and given you a full tour! ❤️

Ok, what is the name of that awesome track played at the end? I love it! Is it perhaps one of yours, Sir Justin?
Keep up the good work.

Oscar! We've missed you!
Pretty cool knowing you were here in my city! I wonder if you'll be stopping in my hometown of El Paso
Justin, You're in my hometown. Welcome!
They used to have Davy Crocket’s vest in the gift shop behind glass.
Texas. Alamo. Is so awesome
I'd love to see them build a Bulldog cafe like in The Rocketeer, which the pig kinda looks like lol! :) I had Here I Go Again On My Own when you left Oscar. ;)

The Pig was original to the Pigstand, a local favorite. I have the t-shirt that was sold to raise money to restore the pig.
The Alamo is on my bucket list.
Glad to see you're in Texas, dude! The Alamo isn't so shut off looking usually.

There is a Stonehenge in Maryhill, Washington in the Columbia River Gorge you should check out.
You should check out the old mineral well site sometime in San Antonio. Weird part of Hollywood history in south Texas.
Good stuff! Love the music!
(#80) Oh Justin Scarred you are a witty man!!!

In 3rd grade my brother did a presentation on Davey Crockett and his teacher didn’t even think he was a real person or congressman.
Heyy its Oscar boy!! Good to see him!! Great vlog
“Oscar, Oscar. Do you want some of my hair?” Hahahahahaha!!!!
He's still the king of the wild frontier
How very fascinating
If you are going to be in west Texas go through fort Stockton and see the roadrunner
Nice to see Oscar! 😊 Good to visit and be silly with friends. Another great vlog, Justin. 👍 (although the armadillos - yeah, disgusting)
Lol if you love the pig Justin you’d love Lucy the Elephant 🤣

Justin, you should have asked someone where the basement is at The Alamo.
There's a cool airplane museum in Tucson AZ
The song at the end is awesome. What is the name of that genre of music. I'm to young to know😣
