I'm still trying to get trade worthy stuff to trade for ingredients or items I need. I don't want to end up trading massive time sinks of items for duped gear that can disappear. I'll probably just solo myself to the gear eventually.
When the game first came out, and the servers were extremely unstable a friend and I "Duped" a wormskull. Not intentionally mind you, I found it, it had life leach on it and he was playing a melee character so I gave it to him. He got kicked from the servers, I stayed in the same game and played for a few hours not wanting to try to leave and risk not being able to create another game. I finally got kicked out of the game and had the infamous "character already in a game error" for several hours, when I logged back on we both had the same wormskull. One of which eventually poofed after making a new game.
@@TheAoalec14 They dont poof items based on stats, they poof due to havingg the same hidden item ID number in any particular game session. When multiple of the same item ID leave a game, only one of the item is allowed to remain in existance. This means the people that are having items poof are leaving a game that someone else is in with the same duped item. Thats how it worked in the past anyways and I assume its the same way today from what im seeing.
I thought about that lol, like what happens if someone makes a legit item with the same exact stats as a popular duped item, then they try to sell it and nobody believes that it is legit. That would suck, guess you just gotta use it yourself at that point
@@finalcam1740 it does work the same now. This is why runes were the optimal dupe back in the day, because when you make a runeword it creates a new item id. This is interesting, because he states that runes cannot be duped with the method being used now. It has already been going around peoples runes "poofed". Whether they're lying or not it has created a trading embargo with runes...
@@finalcam1740 exept the fact that only magic+ items are given said Item ID. Neither bases, nor runewords, nor runes. Those items poofing is a result of a manual poof outside of warden activity. They dont need that Item ID, they can just go with mass item creations and deletes being filtered. Obvoously they could do this as an automatic routine. But they know that some dupes in the economy are needed for accessability. Throwing a banwave in every now and then is less work and even generates money by forcing people to get new licenses.
I was hosting runs in nightmare and I did this because a majority of the time the people in the group would be good at doing aoe but would take a bit on single target so just found it more smooth to skip baal.
When I level my own chars and I tele nm baal, I skip baal because everyone else tries to get the drops when I'm doing 90% of the work. I don't even know if it's effecient to skip actual baal, but I'm not here to help you gear up.
That makes sense. DDOS attack? Why not add dupes to the mix. Overloading the server registry was how they did it back in the day too. Drop as much stuff as possible on the ground, get tons of summons, big spells like Blizzard, and bone wall/prison. Once laggy, drop your items, get booted and log on again to have both copies
Guys!, if you whant rune words, make them yourself, buy the base and the runes and make it. This way it can’t disappear cause each created item get a new Id
You dupe Jah Ith in a base , so you have a base already socketed with jah ith then you dupe that base but after you finish the duped base with a ber its a completely new id item and it doesnt dissapear
I today got offered unid griffons for jah each! the dude seemed to sell ANY quantity.. now, couple hours later, they are GONE! Its not my style to lose two griffons, so they mightve been duped..... be careful guys, dont buy cheap unid griffs...

I thought its based on dc walk, but seeing those screenshots full of unid small charms they might as well be targeted too. However will they change their id when identified or will they also poof... Pretty sure the item ID is generated when the game decides what item drops - identifying it doesn't change the item ID. Furthermore, simply socketing an item into something changes neither the item ID of the gem/rune/jewel(s) inserted nor the ID of the item you put it in. This means if you were to socket duped Ber rune(s) in a legit Crown of Ages, the socketed runes could poof if a duplicate ID is detected, leaving the Crown empty as though you'd never put the duped runes in. However, when you either complete a runeword or combine runes in the cube to make a higher rune, this creates a new unique ID for the resulting item. That's why they call it perm'ing - you used potentially duped items as quickly as possible to eliminate the possibility of them ever disappearing, hence making them "permanent".
Enigma ruined D2 originally for me. Personally, not a fan of 'everyone's a mage'. Offsetting the cost extremely higher and making charges lower with some drawback was always needed...✌️
ive had items disappear and dupe other items on singlle player a few times now. i kind of understand how its done but cant do it purposely. and pisses me off when it does it accidentally cause the 1st time it happened i lost my only shako and skullders and also the BK ring i just found less than 24 hours before then. ended up with a copy of my upped magi and a crafted ring. so i caught on to kind of how its doing it. i just cant do it on purpose
@@jamesquiggins it keeps the most recent one. That's why you should engage in a trade window because this temporarily copies your whole character + inventory and thus makes your stuff appear as the most recent one.
Jo here my case HC player barb i traded happy a 4sock sacred armor 15ed(for a gul) and a Lo( for a ohm sry and a gul) 3days ago i was happy that was really cheap trades but i thought self this trades was odd. i insant tried it out and went to tower farm for keys skipped nothing just testing new gear got random DC was wondering and feeld safe hell i have 16k armor enemy chance to hit me is basicly 15%/have over 3klife full res and my merc would kill everything. Well end of story i did not came in the game for over 1min short was in lobby could not create a new game alt f4 tried even to join with other char my char was still alive until after 2min then he was naked(short basivly hc death) and my char is dead literally 100% not possible i was like WTF i was like HOW? my merc should be able to kill everything i had grief forty and my offhand was A Lawbringer why i mention this cause i explain my enemy types now. I went in vs Fallen and Ghosts in yes This mean my CHAR died vs the easiest mobs in the game no champs no elite no ARCHERS near only this 2 types mob count would say 6-8fallen and 4ghosts. Why i mention this i had a lawbringer lvl 18 aura so i got so this aura will always kick the ghost away my merc would always switch to a fallen near my position i simulate tested it on a offline char and the result was always the same my lawbirnger would always kick the ghosts and my merc would kill the fallen and then move as blocker vs ghost. Most of the test i had always over 2k life one test was 1.6k life after 2 min. I am really angry that i may have lost my HC char because of this fucking dupes because it looks like my armor got removed this is the worst hc death in my life and i am normally a player that accept hc deaths jump example into Nihlathak and dc and i accept my DEATH with a smile on this kind of DCs. But this death makes just no sense my friend was suprise too and said lol with so much def and 3k life this char should have never died this looks really odd. One more to add solo (no 8 players) hell tower run this is ridicilous i would accept it if there was archers but there was 100% none.

I don’t think so, you realize the guy have 109k forum golds, it’s a lot of real life money and if someone can prove he sell items he dupe, d2jsp will delete him. And it’s easy to know, if a lot poeple report him for that you know he doing it, but if it happen to only 1 person, you know the guy said the truth. I don’t say the guy did not dupes items but
To earn money / runes. A lot of people buy runes and bases to make a gamble. E.g. HOTO is pretty cheap to make, but a @40 is a lot more than just the runes.
Damn season 2 d2r had a lot of good things going for it. I love the idea of terror zones and like the sunder charms but these bugs ruined it. I feel unsafe for trading for anything now lol

I was wondering why there was a whole room full of people doing baal runs but always left after all the minions died, and never killed baal.
Most runs skip Baal for more efficient xp

I swear a lvl 93 buddy died in Hc act 5 and logged console and he didn’t die at all after he relogged.

Just play solo it disappears when you join a game with another duped piece in the game.
That's not how it works. The system periodically scans ALL unique item IDS and deletes the most recent one.

Chinese item sales websites are a much larger threat to the game economy than jsp.
