would love to see that Gordon sharpened and actually tested imo.
Coming soon, crazy busy with work this week so itll be sometime this weekend or early next week. Stay tuned...
If you like something and need something buy it don't matter what the price is and what anyone thinks
Couldn't agree more, I was surprised to find that these knives actually perform somewhat well considering how cheap they are! I try to provide information to people buying knives of all prices and make sure they're able to see what they're getting for what they're paying. Thanks for the comment!
Just asked about a BM axis lock that may have some spring assist also. What you said about not caring for spring assist when closing…reminded me about that with the leeks & chives (ken onion/kershaws I used to use some)manuals are simpler. & tip up..that is about all I see when looking for a higher value budget knife. That’s just the way the budget blades work?whats better to you about tip down. + im leaning towards removing the clip and just putting it in my pocket with next knife. Feel like I was burned by some super flimsy clips on 4 civivis in a row recently. Terrible!& even good clips seem to eventually get snagged & lost. I am not a collector and don’t buy a bunch of knives. All the old traditional smaller knives that ride in the pocket are the ones that I still have almost every one I ever had still. Like your videos a lot. You are going to blow up eventually. Feel like it will happen sooner than later and quickly. Keep it up.
The used market is definitely the way to go. You can get some really nice knives for super cheap. Last week I purchased a 1986 Case hawkbill knife, that is easily worth $80+, for $15. And today I got a CRKT Pazoda, which is $35, for $10. Online auctions and antique stores are a great place to start.
Definitely a great point, there are lots of ways to save on knives! Thanks for watching!
A lot of people take the "cheap knives are trash" mindset as a coping mechanism. It's easier to keep buying half kilobuck knives when you think they're capable of something a cheap knife isn't.
I think buying that $10 OT knife when you already have a sAfEqEeN™ Bugout with $150 of aftermarket crap tacked on is stupid, but theres too many hills to die on there.
The majority of people who buy expensive knives don't actually need indestructible high performance knives but it's fun to shop around, collect, resell, and talk about them. I think the noticeable difference in quality of product stops around the $100 mark, there really is no reason to spend more than that on a knife if the sole reason you're getting it is to use it every single day for whatever that might be. I think there's a sweet spot of like $30-$70 where you can get a really high quality product that's American made and will last you a long time and you wouldn't need to ever get another knife unless again you're beating it up every day.
Like you said there really is no legitimate justification for spending $180 on 2 pieces of plastic screwed together with steel in between other than it's fun to collect and have, maybe using it a little bit along the way.
I appreciate the comments, hope you enjoy the video later if you watch!
Why the gloves? No finger prints?
Ha, got in the habit of it in early videos and I feel like I have to continue it to keep the videos looking the same
Thanks for watching!
6:55 looks like a clip point.
You're probably right, I didn't think it was because it's more flat on that "clipped" point vs curved which I normally associate with a clip point. Thanks for watching!
7:18 "this thing feels really sturdy with lots of blade play" ummm lol
The knife itself is build well with full liners and it initially feels like it's well made but the blade does wiggle quite a bit
Is this the 9 dollars ozark genre trying to find the next superstar budget knife? Nice job😂
Ha, they were sold out of the super hyped up one so I figured I would include a different ozark trail one and see if it was a decent knife. Thanks for watching
@@DXSharpening They just restocked yesterday, I bought 2 of them.
@@DDnight546 good to know, might have to grab 1 or 2 and check it out. Thanks for the heads up!
