DUTCH
Who else thinks this narrator is perfect for this video
He changes his accent to suit the video ;)
I do
He is perfect
Me
That’s just Chris putting on a southern accent
Love the animation, and I can only imagine how upset people were when they found out the shop owners got richer than they did.
In the Klondike gold rush of 1898, people spent even more money to reach the place than it produced!
@@Blaqjaqshellaq How about that
The moment you realize that being a merchant in those days is much better than being a gold miner.
It‘s like if one has chewing gum in class and everyone wants one
Anyone remembers the poor fella who was looking for Gold in the River in Red Dead Redemption 2 ?
I shot him and took his gold.
He can’t look for gold... HE GOT LUMBAGO!
The dude on the cover looks like uncle
Who else is doing this for they’re hw?
Nicholas DiVirgilio oh reallllllyyyyy.
me xD
Me bruh
Same here. Don't know why my teacher is telling me to watch this channel. It has some controversial stuff......
Me
What he doesn't tell you is that, after the miners went home, the corporations bought the lands and used heavy duty equipment to uncover the gold that was hidden deep beneath the grounds.
I was sent here by my teacher.
Q u a r e n t i n e
same. i already knew this and entire US history though, we are up to the first battle of bull run now
SAME-
Me neither.
Me too
The guy on lefts face at 29 seconds in lol 🤣🤣🤣🤣
To me i thought it was worth it, because not only did alot of people moved west, but created many towns and cities that we now know today
Yep
Captain23rd Gaming what do you mean by that?!
Well, I don't know about that. Where I grew up (Auburn, California) was named Auburn because of "Au" is the element name for gold and burn is, I guess they would melt it. Cities like Los Angeles have a different history. This gold Rush coincides with northern California cities, such as San Francisco.
Captain23rd Gaming z
True, but not many became rich like how they thought, most of 'em lost all their money
There is a mistake in the vid. In the beginning, you show a boat going through the Panama Canal, but the Panama Canal was not completed until 1914. Construction didn't even start until 1899
Potato Pal you have a very keen eye. But there is an explanation for this. The ships would sail to panama, then the people heading to California would cross panama, then sail from panama's west coast to America.
Potato Pal i didn't even know the Panama canal was near the u.s
and I just made a set of notes
Peanut mc butter pants Do you even know where North America is
V. As stupid as those that call them stupid for not knowing something they do. There's a ton you don't know I'm sure.
He has such a accent that I can smell the west from 1000's of miles away.
Your'e voice ,the music and your'e accent is Just

o wonder the San Francisco 49'rs are named 49'rs cause the gold rush started in 1849
I watched this in the 4th grade, I’m in 9th grade now and I’m learning about not mostly about the gold rush but it’s actually about the Chinese gold miners
Is this why California has Golden State (NBA) and the 49ers (NFL) on their team??
This helped me on my Presentation. Thank you!!
You guys deserve a lot more of everything like subs like etc.
no
Kaydendoezthings oof
+Firetruck man OOOOOF
Gold was discovered way longer Mexicans and natives found it first and kept it a secret for many years until California departed from Mexico and that’s when the word got out
nnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
The guy selling the shovels and panning stuff made 36 million in to weeks.. IN 1849. I wanna be that guy.
Many were never heard of again, as they were murdered by their colleagues, for their gold, some were thrown over board & drowned, it was unsafe, my Granduncle Andrew was one of these unfortunate men,who returned to Ireland many times, had made some money ,then no more letters & no trace found...he was never heard from again & broke his parents & siblings hearts, may he RIP x
@@BadTakesGuy It’s actually possible believe it or not, but he’d have to be very old and his father and grandfather would have needed to have children when they were very old. He likely meant his great great uncle or great great great uncle.
I love this video and interesting and I love simple history!
It’s amazing what one little discovery led to!
Thank you I find this very useful for school
Man these videos are good and the voice actors are awesome too

You can study the gold rush of Brazil!
thanks it really helped me !!!!! :)
mainers would shake the pan and get rid of any dirt to reveal any gold
Fun fact: prospectors popularized denim because of their lightweight and breathability compared to canvas or wool trousers
The great great great Grandfather, of the owner of Home Depot, probably started out selling equipment at the Gold Rush...lol
Love this
James was my great great great grandpa
I would have traveled back in time with a whole bunch of pyrite and sold it
They can figure out if it is real gold...
Godly Gamer yep that's true some people bit it
Godly Gamer oh
I traveled back to 1851 and tried this. It didn't work. In fact, I was chased through Miller's town and almost got shot. Luckily I wasn't too far from the time portal in Idaleto's cave. It wasn't worth the trouble.
They called it "Fool's gold" back then
I’m watching this for school lol
that was a very helpful video
This channel should have about 1M subs
Great vid
ur first
Vielen Dank für dieses Video
One of James Marshall’s houses is in my town. The home was built in 1816, before James had discovered gold.
really cool
Thanks I need this for school (:
Your videos are so coool
"Businesses that serve the miners often get richer than the miners" is a big insult. poor miners

He even stated the gold fever of 1849 in one of his singin'
I saw this on a webinar. :)
Many miners left California for the rush to the gold fields of Ballarat in Victoria, Australia from 1855 onwards.
And Melbournes Population went from 75000 to 300000 in 12 months because of it
Good video
great!
Thank you for doing this video, because John August Sutter is my great great great grandfather and have learned that history for a long time. Sorry I just saw this video lol
What 😱
That oughta suck for the folks who thought they struck it rich only to discover later on that it was pyrite (fool's gold).
im doing my homework
Actually a Native American founded a piece of gold and brought to someone who name i forgot
I've always said, if I had a time machine, this is the time i'd visit first.
yes it very interesting to watch
I like this because it give topics
I recommend HW Brands' book THE AGE OF GOLD: THE CALIFORNIA GOLD RUSH AND THE BIRTH OF MODERN AMERICA.
The quickest way for easterners to reach California was to take a steamship to Panama, cross the isthmus and take a clipper ship north!
I have actually put my hand in the water of the tailrace where that first piece of gold came out. Sutter's Mill is on The American River in the northern california Sierra mountains.
Now a days there arent 49 ers there are fortniters

Why does that old man look so mad hahahah
Doing a video on the history of the Oregon and Mormon trails would be very interesting
The guy on the left side at the end of the video reminded me of Allan Grant from Jurassic park lol XD
Those who came to sell equipment and tools were the rich ones. All they had to do was wait and sell lol.
those two ships travelling to California: the first one must be equipped with wheels since the Panama Canal was open in 1914 - just saying ;D
am i the only one who thought at the end when he said subscribe about carpool karaoke with James Corden and Ariana Grande "subscribe this is the channel" lmao
I want that merch lol
Dude in thumbnail looks like he has a terminal case of lumbago
This made my research paper wayyyy easier to write

That guy in the thumbnail looked like he was 100 years old and i will be 16 in December 23!
do the Australian gold rush next!
If everyone around you is digging for gold. You need to ask yourself "who is going to sell them the shovels"
Nice
I just love his accent
pov: your here for school
Yeah 😂
Who are you, Arthur Morgan? That accent is amazing.
Yea but how is this related to Wix?
Nice watered down version would have been nice to have seen for accuracy purposes how alot of the miners were robbed and killed for there gold. And all of the other dangers they faced .
Do one about Barkerville in British Columbia gold rush
The guy on the thumbnail looked like he was 101 and was born December 1, 1747!
