That was an honest review. Appreciate that. An awful lot of hype has been mandatory since 2015 & yes, it did bring much to the midsize, 'Merican built bike market which H-D was sucking at for many lonely years. But, I, too, found neutral too many times. The ride comfort can be adjusted a little, but it requires a spring swap to solve. The brakes are only enough and you best be good about stomping the rear if you need to shorten it up. I think the very stiff frame is AWESOME but to shows any weakness like the front upside down springs bottoming out with some aggressive round town stuff.
I have the 2018 model and it DOES have a tach. It's digital, and you get to it by toggling the display using the switch on the front side of the LH switchgear. I agree that Indian did not pay enough attention to the suspension. My first mod was new shocks - Arlen Ness adjustable. Made a world of difference! Then I replaced the Kenda tires with Pirelli Night Dragons (which Indian uses on the standard Scout, but not the Bobber) for improved handling. I also added the luggage rack so I can carry small to medium loads on the back. Starting in 2019, Indian has offered the "comfort seat" which is a bit wider and with thicker, softer padding. It isn't essential for shorter rides, but if I was thinking about being on the bike for 5-6 hours a day, several days in a row, I would definitely make the change.

@ John Spencer: I don't know about that "Missing a Gear"..... If you look at the gear selector - it goes blank and then goes to second gear and then sixth gear..... Unless he did that on purpose.

Bought one last year love mine, put exhaust on it love it! Does need a seat and shock upgrade which I highly suggest. But I can stand up on it for bumps and I’m shorter than you at 5’6, overall tho liked your review

Easily the best looking of the Indians, one of the few models that densest seem to get painted like a bass boat too. They don't seem to be sized for a rider taller than 5'4 though.

Thanks! I haven't ridden the Triumph yet so can't compare the two. Both look really nice. It may come down to the dealership network around you. Who's closer, who's better etc.

Does any one know the origins of a Bobber is?
Seems the #1 complaint is the stiff ride & suspension, well... that’s what a Bobber is, know this before you shop for a Bobber.

Since you don't know about engine breaking, then you don't know how fast it is.
Polaris got the sound right... not Indian !!
So in other words. Just a show piece. With zero practical value. Motorcycle manufacturers are completely lost in 2020. The ugly exhaust systems. No overdrive transmission on the Triump Rocket, despite 165 ft. lbs of torque and 2500cc. Everyone needs to fired. Period. The 1932 Henderson inline 4, had better features and an overdrive. Who the hell makes a bike with no overdrive in 2020? Motorcycle are used for driving down the highway, the last time I checked. Also V-twin engines are completely useless and obsolete for daily driven motorcycles used in traffic and stop and go traffic. They are inherently much worse than any inline 4. Also the front end headlight assembly on most new motorcycles is so ugly it's not even tolerable. Are there any real motorcycle riders working on the design teams?
