  • How do you stop a nervous habit? Nervous habits are very common particularly in people with anxiety disorders but also in the general population. Nervous habits like repetitive blinking, nail biting, skin picking, pulling hair out (trichotillomania), pulling eyebrow hair out, nose picking and pulling strange faces can be annoying or even distressing. In this video I look at what causes nervous habits, what is the difference between a nervous habit and a tic, can hypnosis stop a nervous habit and what is the best treatment for a nervous habit.
