Hey everyone, I'm the guy that just road Woodzmans new 300L. I have to say it is better in some places. It does have more power across the band. You wouldn't think 40 or so cc's could feel faster, it does. Sitting on it, it seems like it is a larger bike, may just be me. Having both side by side there are a lot of differences. The seat, frame, plastic, dash ECT. Saying how much I liked the new 300L, I will be keeping my 2020 250L. I have bought skid plate, rear rack, handguards, and seat concepts seat. None of these will fit 300L. Well the handguards will. If I had an older 250L might think of upgrading, because it is an improvement. I'll just have to always try to keep up with the new 300's now. They are both great fun, keep the rubber side down.
I can't wait to get mine. Local Honda shop has an the ABS model on the way for me. Paper work is done just waiting game now, Hopefully I'll have it this coming week
When I wrote about my thoughts on the difference inbetween the crf250l and the same bike once I swapped the cbr300 engine into it back in 2017 people would continually express disbelief that a 36cc increase could produce the results I found. Roll on the throttle on the 250 and it would make more noise but not much else. Roll on the 300 and it was giddy up! Going up hills would knock it back to 4th and even 3rd gear that the 300 could handle in 6th with stock gearing. All the Honda staff from mechanics to salesmen who rode my 300 came back with huge grins and said that this is how the bike should come from the factory and they finally made it happen. Glad your enjoying your new ride. I first came across your channel when searching for a way to quieten my obnoxiously loud FMF Q4 down on my 250l and you had the solution with the quiet insert.
turns out my dealer sold the 300L to someone 2 days before me and didn't update it in the system. Got my money down on one coming in July 29th . Good things come to those that wait I guess!!
I would’ve bought a 300L but settled for a 2015 250L. I wanted to save a few bucks. I’m very happy with my purchase but I wish it had a tiny bit more acceleration. I’m considering a sprocket change, other than that, She is a great pig.
Rolling on down the road.... Nice!! I don't think he wants to give the 300 back Frank. lol It was 93 where I live in Iowa today, great bike weather! :)
Hey Woodzman! Huge fan on the real. Your videos have helped me in so many ways upgrading my crf250l. I thank you my brother and am grateful for your channel. I have a question about the 250l you rode. Was the 250l you were on have any power upgrades such as fmf mega bomb header, fmf q4 exhaust, opened up air box, and 13 tooth front sprocket? I ask because I have all of those upgrades and it really gave my bike a ton more go and have been wanting to see how the 300l compares to that to see if it is worth an upgrade. I know that you have experimented with most of those if not all of those upgrades. I also have a 3 gal tank, wind screen and front and rear race tech suspension upgrades. Plus more lol. I truly love my bike and enjoyed getting her to this level but am wondering if I should do it all again on a 300l. Would love to hear your response on these questions. Me and my pops would be stokked to hear your take on it. Thanks in advance my brother, RIDE ON!
Awesome, thanks and I’m glad to hear that you enjoy my video. The 2020 CRF250L that we was comparing is completely stock. What I was wanting to do is to compare the 250L and 300L stock for stock. That is really the best way to see the differences in the two bikes. I also still have my stock 250L. I don’t have any plans of engine or exhaust mods one them at all.
@@WOODZMAN thanks for the reply! I totally get it, makes sense. It’s good to see Honda keep pushing their game and innovating. I know you had the FMF set up befor and I agree with how loud and annoying it is. The power gains make it worth it for me but it would be nice to have that 300l and keep it quiet. Keep it up with the quality content my brother, cheers and ride on!
Put cbr250r ecu in your 250l and then youll be stoked! 4-5hp starting at bottom! Or get a performance 550 ecu... Same for 300l to bring it up to cbr300r specs with 4 more hp...
Hello good sir, have you tried to adjust the rear suspension preload? They say that thats it's too soft. BTW, I also own a crf300l, and Im thinking of adjusting it. Hope you can make a video of it. I'll be spectating.😁 More power to your channel good sir.
Thanks for your reviews. I was wondering if you noticed any excessive heat coming from the right radiator. I have read quite a few comments that the new 300 tends to flow hot air coming from the right side. Did you notice this yet. Or compared to the 250 ? Thank you.
Thanks for watchin, yes it does have some heat coming from the right side, it’s the air flowing through the radiator and I notice it more then I do on the 250L but to me it’s not a problem
Hi, because you have the 250l and the 300l, can you please measure the side stand? I will install supermoto wheels and a rear lowering link, so I wonder if the side stand on the 250l is shorter. Thanks and have a wonderful day 🛵
All really depends, if it’s in nice shape 2017 and up will go for $4500 - $4900. Less than $4500 is a good deal if it’s in nice shape and low miles. But also consider a 300L is like 1K more
@@kurthedgecock6313 Yeah man, power and more torque but more important is they changed the torque curve, so the bike feels more useable across the rev range.

I agree, they are both great bikes so really no reason to spend the money to upgrade
Great video comparison. Funnily enough, the day you posted that was the day I received my 300L. My 1st bike ever
Sweet, you should be getting use to it by now
I really think Honda listens to what there customers say and they really hit it out the park on a price friendly bike with good power.
I agree
Only bad again suspension
Suspension is fine for me, but I don’t jump anymore. But for trails it’s perfectly fine
My dad and I did the exact same thing, I definitely love my 300l a lot more but they are both great bikes!
I totally agree
Great review, really enjoyed it! You and your buddy chatting away on your mics..your camera gives off such a real life view. 👍
Thanks Peter and thanks for watchin

Thanks for watchin, I am impressed with the 300L I think it’s a nice upgrade from the 250L for sure
I did cbr300r crank, flywheel n ecu swap on my 17 crf250l and added DCR cams...it romps!
Harry is gonna be getting a 300l lol
Lol he likes it
The 300 is awesome 👍
Going down on the front sprocket on the 250 is a must. Completely opened mine up.
Better to go up on the rear sprocket to 42 to prevent the chain eating into the guides up front.

Try a 42 on the rear
Why not an EJK, DNA Air Filter and a decent exhaust system

Yea he wanted to just keep it lol, it was beautiful here today, about 80

27hp v 24.5hp .A decent exhaust and air filter would probably yield the same results on the 250. But no replaceplant for displacement

You guys need to ride make a trip to florida and make a video
That would be a good one

Just checked, they are both the same, 13.25”
Tanks, I really appreciate it, will try to find a different solution. Have a wonderful day weekend, God bless you and your family
Gent's, you need to get into the higher RPM's to make these go properly
Man, a lot depends on the weight of the rider, are both of you guys about the same weight !
No, I'm a bit lighter than woodzman.
Next you get the CRF 450 RL ..
Still not the ideal midsize for me..
350 to 400cc is what I like most
Think TT 350 and XR 400
Nah I really am not interested in the 450RL. I think the 300L is the perfect bike for me
Crf300L big bore 355 is the ticket.
Thinking about getting my 1st dual sport, so what is a fair price for a 250L since there should be quite a few trade ins?

How's the headlight at night? Is it good or nah? Hope you make a review about that.
About the Thailand LED light or the stock ?
@@WOODZMAN the thailand LED, sir.
The headlight it bright, a lot brighter than the stock halogen that the U.S CRF300L comes with.

Sena’s, I have the Sena 10C Evo witch is also recording the video and Harry has the 10C Pro with a camera also
Don’t forget your dog .. he went for you and left as if saying « okay he talks to his bike now.. »

Does the 300L have more power across the rpm range.or just up top?
It has more power everywhere
Good thinking about it for a second bike.

what are the front and rear sprockets on both bikes??

14/40 both stock
Soooooo all pro for the 300 except for the nicer mods on the 250
Yea mainly he has a good seat, I hope to get one as soon as they become available
He mentioned that the 250 feels smaller. That could be a good thing if you ride in a heavily wooded areas.
What kind of seat does he have?
The CRF300L is stock, the 250L is Seat Concepts
Top speed of 300l sir??
75-80 same say 85
Harry's probably going to realize you're a bad influence on him lol.
Haha true
You got that right.
Lol
Find a CB500X to switch with.
Not really something I am interested in
Why would anyone want that bike if they ate looking for dual sport style? That's more so a bike for a 16 year old to kill himself on.
