I am sure I will watch it again whenever I need inspiration. Many thanks.
Definitely do it gradually and avoid injury. I'm glad the older, wiser you has found that running is a good thing! I ran my first ultra at age 42, and I hope I'm still banging around these long distances in ten years.
@@wplate Thank you Wes. I will certainly take it steady and build slowly. Injury avoidance will be a priority. I have watched a few of your videos now and really enjoy them ( I might give the loading of cows a miss as I am a Vegan ) You have inspired me to to enter my first race which is an off-road half marathon in January. Many thanks, Rob
@@wplate Hi Wes, Greetings from England. I was inspired to take up running at the age of 56 after watching a few running videos including your own. At the weekend I ran my first trail race ( 14km through the New Forest ) and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I will continue to watch your videos for inspiration as I start to plan my graduation to the half marathon distance and beyond. Many thanks, Rob

I’m just about to do my first ‘ultra’ (Ambleside 60km, Northwest England)
it’s only 37.5 miles but it’ll be the longest distance I’ve attempted, and this film gives me such fantastic inspiration to go on to bigger distances
Hope to do Moab one day, all the best pal 👍

All I can say is thank you for all the recording and documenting your experience for so many of us who will enter this crucible of liberation in your wake. Godspeed brother.

I've been running for 22+ years with trail ultras for only the last 7 years or so. Still working my way up to my first 100-mile. But as you know it is a long slow journey to get there. Maybe some day! 50-mile is definitely on the list for this summer.
Cheers, keep up the lovely videos and most of all have fun out there!
Thank you, I'm so happy you enjoyed this video. I hope you get to 100 miles or whatever distance you have in mind. Thanks for checking out the channel.

I hiked 19 miles/5,500 ft of elevation gain in a day once and thought I was a savage, haha! Great job man, I can’t believe anyone is physically capable of doing that race. You’re a legend.
It takes work, but it certainly is possible. In 2019 86 finished the Moab 240 and 22 did not. Thank you for watching!
