what other band could create a song that has a whistle, a samba rhythm, a xylophone and a backwards guitar effect with a half time shuffle feel and make perfect sense, great choice!

Bonzo played the Purdie Shuffle, named for Bernard Pretty Purdie, a New Orleans drumming legend who perfected the backbeat technique heard on this record. The Old Absinthe House Bar in New Orleans is depicted on the album cover, where Jimmy Page would occasionally jam with Mason Ruffner when he was in town.
This album came out as I started 8th grade in August '79. As we started 9th grade the anticipation was growing for the eventual Led Zeppelin tour. Then Bonham died. And all our Zeppelin concert dreams were extinguished.
Exact story here. My brothers band manager had an in for tickets and then the news. Skipped school, smoked weed and listened to them all day with 2 friends.
🥺 I remember thinking I'll never see them again at "my local venue" (MSG) but decades later I still loved seeing 🥰 Robert Plant & The Honeydrippers! Even saw them do Letterman & SNL shows. 🙄 Ok, it was the soundchecks but still got tickets to shows at The Beacon, Roseland & 🤔 I think they played The Apollo Theater in Harlem. 😁🐰
I was in the same grade when we were waiting for their album and many of us were buying tickets for Buffalo since they for some reason would not play in Toronto.
I remember hearing the words "This is a song off our upcoming Album" alot at shows from bands but 😞 we were all devastated when 🥁 Bonzo passed.... 🙏🏿 RIP
yeah a great ol song from them. there was a buzz in the air at time of these recordings with World Cup Soccer .I think it was Brazil or somebody (sorry don't watch soccer) .and they were influenced with it .Bonham lays such a SMOOTH shuffle beat here.xoxo
