The department store I work for got 2 in somehow and put them out with the other Timex Boutique models a few weeks back. I snagged one immediately. Oddly enough the other is still there waiting to be discovered. I almost wanted to put out a silly Easter egg hunt for someone to find it. It’s just normal retail price as it’s an authorized dealer. If anyone is looking, it’s Hudson’s Bay Mayfair mall Victoria BC. The website shows it out of stock, but if you call them and ask for the jewelry department I know it’s there as of today. They will ship anywhere so don’t hesitate to call. It will surely go fast once a fellow watch enthusiast sees this post lol
Funny you mention that. I know of 2 people here in the Toronto area that have found them recently at the Bay too. I'll pin this to the top of the comments and hopefully someone will see it. Thanks and enjoy yours :)
TimeToGo Travel And Timepieces Thanks for pinning this. People shouldn’t have to over pay for these. Gotta look out for our fellow enthusiasts! Great channel, keep it up!
Lol at paying above market for a timex. Just wait. Eventually they'll be in stock everywhere. Exact same thing happened with the Marlin when it came out. This is Timex, not Patek. They will be happy to make as many as they can sell. They're only out of stock because they underestimated demand.
I love my Q Timex watches. I bought the Pepsi Peanuts edition which has Snoopy right at the number 6 and I bought the Coke. Out of my collection of 30 watches they are my new favorites and wear them the most. Just love the vintage look which brings me back and just love the look of the watch in general. I'm a Timex Fanatic and they are putting out some amazing watches. I also own 4 Marlin Automatics which are also amazing!
It was the same story with Marlin auto, after I bought mine, it went sold out and there were ebay sellers asking 400$ for it. Now it is readily available at its original price :)
I put this watch in the category of “swatch”. looks like a nice homage, but the closer you get to the watch, the less enthousiastic I get. Especially the clasp gives me this 1$-chinese-digital-watch-feeling. Note: I like acrylic because it allows the watchmaker to create these nice high “crystals”
Good video, thanks. Timex just got these back in stock so I ordered one today. I’ve been wanting one for a while but wasn’t going to pay totally crazy money for it.
It has. Seiko movement from Japan. It is not a limited edition so it's likely they will be available again from Timex late Summer. Hoping so. Love it!👍
I was lucky enough to get one off the Todd Snyder website this weekend for a very good price and I gotta say I love it and the QC on the one I order was Exactly what you would expect for a new watch . Overall I've been a big fan of what Timex has been doing over the last year and I really can't wait to see what else they decide to bring back in the future.
Nice. Didn't know they were available through the Todd Snyder site. I think the QC isn't so common. Happens with any brand. Love the watch overall and I agree, Timex has been doing some great stuff lately. Thanks and enjoy the watch :)
Timex, please release another edition of this but with a leather strap! You have a definite winner. Ignore the trolls and vindictive snobs. Charge whatever you want, I'll buy it. Just make it available in the UK if possible. You're doing really well, keep it up!
I just got one on June 15, 2019 at a store called "The Bay" in Canada. MSRP of $229.00 Canadian. I looked at two new ones and both had scuff marks on the St.St. body at 9 o'clock area. And I too re-polished the case here. Also, the second hand does not always line up with the markings. It looks like hit and miss so QC issues for sure but I was expecting this from Timex. Overall, this is a fine fun watch for those who miss the 1970's era. I think I will put it away in a time capsule and see what happens in 30 years. For sale in 2049, is a vintage NOS, NIB Timex Q from 2019.
Let's see, in 1979 I was wearing a Texas Instruments 101 LED watch, which I thought was unbelievably cool if a little impractical. Timex at that time was considered just as it is today, a budget brand. I can't remember seeing the original Q watch or knew anyone who owned one back then. For me it does nothing in regards to style, but I do really iike the fact that people are excited about a Timex again. Who would have thought that, forty years later?
Just looking at images of that watch now. Pretty neat one. Seems like the LED watches might make a bit of a comeback. Bulova just put out a pretty funky reissue of one recently. As for Timex I think it's a great idea to revisit their catalog of watches. I'm sure there's alot of gems out there with the amount of watches they've produced. Thanks Lee:)
@42treg lookup Zodiac Sea Dragon and maybe you'll understand, a 70's watch that looks like it's from the 70's but is made using TODAY'S standards, which have gone quite far compared to those of watches made in the 70's
It's a timex with an 8 dollar quartz movement and a 2 dollar bracelet. It should really cost about 40 bucks. You can get a casio duro (way better watch, ISO certified and much better build quality) for $45. It's cool looking but there's no way I'd pay nearly $200 for it.
No issues although I did end up selling it recently. I have the Falcon Eye reissue and the Todd Snyder x Q collaboration still. Nothing wrong with it but towards the end it wasn't getting worn as much.
My god these are selling at almost 3 times the RRP on ebay, I'm patient so I'll wait and hopefully they'll be back in stock soon and I can then say I have a timex in my collection
Get why it's popular an like it alot myself an will eventually get one but not at what people are asking now I'll wait till the reissue it again an they are so everybody just be patient. 😁
you just bought a shitty fashion watch due to the huge hype around this trash for that price. 10$ cheap quartz movement, 10$ cheap bracelet and you wonder why it's misaligned? even the seconds hand is misaligned in ever review i saw.
The good thing for me which has come from this release is the design made me want a pepsi bezel watch so I purchased a nice Seiko PADI Mini Turtle with the pepsi bezel for less than the inflated ebay prices of the Timex
Yes it's a little up there in price for sure. First time with QC problems from them but I've seen a couple people having issues with this one online. Thanks.
@@gmshadowtraders Hi Bro! :) you incorrectly assume I am a Swiss fanboy. I am not. I enjoy all watches and all movements to an extent. I have quartz and automatic Chinese, Japanese, American and Swiss watches in my collection and enjoy them all. I have also had several Timex watches before I gave up on the brand due to the QC issues I encountered. The watch is very nice as I previously mentioned. The bracelet is also very nicely styled. The issue with this watch is the price for what is offered. The watch uses a Seiko quartz PC33 movement which you can get on eBay for around $10. Timex is a “more affordable” brand so to speak and the $179 price is unjustifiable for a vintage reissue. It’s even more crazy when you see the reseller prices on eBay! The cost I would say should be more like $80 on the high side. For the cost, look and what is offered, Vostok watches (as an example) offer much more bang for the buck! Thanks for the comment!
$400 on ebay? first i avoid ebay like the plague (experience driven). ebay defenders asserted to me that i was the problem and their "guild" of sellers were constantly being tricked and libeled by the "unprincipaled" buyers. they can pound sand... timex was my first real watch after a mickey mouse and i still have it. there are lots of watches out there, but another timex will not be headed my way...
I love Timex but no of course it's not worth the hype. Imagine being on a wait list for a quartz Timex in 2019 like this is a Rolex or something. The only thing dumber than that is buying a quartz Timex on ebay for 400+ dollars.
Your statement is the very reason why I want one. I just love the idea of sticking two fingers up at the watch snobs. It goes against everything they stand for. You can just feel their loathing for this watch reading the comments on every video. This is why this Timex Q is so hot now, to me at least. I MUST have it lol.
A great 70s vintage look and feel but not for what they are asking. $400 US is around the $570 Australian dollars. Not worth it, even for a great reproduction. As alway a great review though
It's assembled by Timex, their design, their overall QC direction. Similar to a Seiko watch which I purchased recently, it says on the back "Movement Japan, Cased in China", exactly like this Timex. Seiko and Timex, a match made in heaven :)

Great review. I'm hoping Timex make more of these, I want one for my upcoming 40th birthday.
I see you can sign up on the Timex website and get an email notification when they're back in stock. Hope you track one down :)

Cool! Nice watch but definitely not worth some of the crazy prices out there. Actually working on a video of the new Falcon Eye from Timex tonight.
Great looking watch, love the color scheme, the blue dial and Pepsi bezel work nice together, looks great on wrist, enjoy it Bob!
Really liking the colorway on this one. Pretty cool vintage vibes, especially with the bracelet. Thanks!

Love the vintage style of it. Thanks!
Good fair review! Nice little affordable piece, but in no way worth the crazy prices they're fetching on ebay.
Totally agree but hopefully they get more stock and that settles soon. Cheers!

Thanks alot Jamie! Appreciate it.
Great review of a fun piece, B! Enjoy the Pepsi fun!
Thanks Andrew! Go Raps!!!😁👍
Great review, really love the intro with the pepsi props!
Appreciate that. Cheers!
Thank you for another great review Bob...I would have thought for sure that bracelet was a hair puller :)
Thanks Jeffrey. I've had a few mesh ones that were but no problem at all with this one. Cheers:)
It has a certain vintage charm, that's why it's cool
Totally agree. Thanks.
I like it a lot! Gonna wait till they come in stock again!
I do too. Definitely best to wait for new stock to come in. Thanks Robert!
LOVE the look, would like it more if they made it slightly better to keep up with the times, as this looks like it was also MADE in the 70s 😄
It totally has the feel of a watch from the 70's. Love the look too but maybe a couple of improvements to the build quality wouldn't hurt.
@42treg you didn't get the point, try reading again, slower
@42treg lookup Zodiac Sea Dragon and maybe you'll understand, a 70's watch that looks like it's from the 70's but is made using TODAY'S standards, which have gone quite far compared to those of watches made in the 70's

Tough to argue against the Duro. I've had one and it's an awesome watch for the cost.
Nice review. Interesting to hear your thoughts a year into ownership. Have you had any issues? Does it get much wrist time?
No issues although I did end up selling it recently. I have the Falcon Eye reissue and the Todd Snyder x Q collaboration still. Nothing wrong with it but towards the end it wasn't getting worn as much.

That's definitely the smart move. Cool watch but definitely not worth it at the prices right now. Thanks Mark👍👍
That is a good balanced review..
I wonder how much one of these watches cost in 1979?
Thanks alot. I wonder that now too. If I can dig it up I'll let you know.
Guessing $35
10$, you can google it. they were selling one of those on every corner of the street.

Any issues with the day being misaligned? Mine keeps doing that even when I align it properly but a day later it'll be misaligned again
No problems with mine. I'd maybe reach out to Timex on that issue, first time hearing of that with these.

@@TimeToGoTravelAndTimepieces you're welcome 😊
The lug looks good!
The bezel on mine is extremely loose and moves when i bang the watch around too much. Anyone else experiencing that?

Nice. The PADI is a great watch. Perfect for summer.
Lmao you can hear rick and morty in the backround at 5:00 😂

Okay why the gloves for a Timex...just a bit OVERkill...lol lol
Keeps from getting smudges on the steel and the white contrast against the watch helps with focus on my camera.
Cool piece
Thanks man.
38mm????? I’m buying this!!!!
Yes sir. 38mm and a great watch. Fun summer watch!
They don't ship to Asia!
$300-$400! I guess there is some truth to the saying that an item is worth as much as someone is willing to pay for it.
100% agree. Still a little steep though.
