The gorillas were outside all day as it was sunny and a little warmer.
Kintaro was quick to get into his box and play by himself and with his father Momotaro as much as he wanted.

Father MOMOTARO ♂(2000/7/3)
He is hesitant in new situations and is a loner.
His father died before he was born, and he had never spent time with a silverback.
He had already turned into a silverback by the time he was 10 years old.
He is struggling with unfamiliar child-rearing.
MOMOTARO's father is BIJU.
MOMOTARO's mother is MOMOKO
Mother GENKI ♀ (1986/6/24)
She is 14 years older than Momotaro and has a role to support the whole family mentally.
She has had a tumultuous and eventful life.
She has returned to her birthplace, Kyoto City Zoo.
She had never been blessed with a baby but after meeting Momotaro,
she had two sons.
She is a very maternal female gorilla.
GENKI's father is MAKK.
GENKI's mother is HIROMI.
First son GENTARO, male (2011/12/21)
He was separated from his mother Genki soon after he was born.
Genki's milk production was not very good.
He was raised by his keeper for his first10 months.
Because of this, he is very fond of humans.
His face is so expressive, and everyone enjoys watching him.
Second son KINTARO ♂ (2018/12/19)
He is just very strong-willed and independent.
He has big eyes and long eyebrows.
The way he plays a lot with his brother Gentaro makes everyone smile.
We can't wait to see what kind of gorilla he'll become!

I think you're making entirely the wrong assessment of Momo and Kintaro and their playing. Whenever a small gorilla plays with a bigger one it frequently looks like the bigger one is really abusing the other one but there's one way you can tell if the big one is going too far -- when the big guy finally lets the small one up pay attention to what the smaller one does and that should answer the question. If the little guy gets up and runs away then it means that big dude went too far or the little one is scared of him, but when the little guy continually comes back for more it means that the little guy is not afraid. Gorillas play rough sometimes (most of the time) and when it looks like Momo is really sinking his teeth in he's not. You have to realize that Momo is teaching Kintaro how to be an adult silverback and leader of a family troupe. A silverback has to be fearless and willing even to die in order to protect his family. I think both Momo and Gentaro have done a great job teaching Kintaro how to be totally undaunted and willing to take on all threats.
I think Kintro gets scared when he plays with dad, especially when he gets Kintro down and Kintro can’t get up, he looks scared and I think mono has a hard time playing because he gets aggravated, you can tell by the look of his face that he’s getting angry, sometimes wonder if mono would hurt Kintro that’s why gentro is standing in the background waiting to intervene 😢❤
Oh puh-leaze. Momo does play pretty rough. To our eyes it does look like he is being too dominant but if he were overdoing it Kintaro would run away any time that Momo lets him get up. Instead, Kintaro keeps coming back for more. Momo is teaching Kintaro how to be a fearless silverback and leader of a family troupe. The fact that Kintaro has only ever played with bigger gorillas has already made the little guy fearless. With both dad and Gentaro he never runs, but always comes back for more.
Momo doesn’t know how to play he just bites and if you look Kintaro was checking his arm for wounds and Gentaro was about to step in
I get the impression a lot of times that Kintaro is still kind of afraid of Momotaro even when they're playing together. I could be wrong, but I just feel that Kintaro is still sort of afraid of his dad at times.

It's a shame Momotaro plays so rough with Kinny.
Gentaro is Kintaro's bodyguard. He always comes over when Dad is playing rough with Kinny. The “game” then ends immediately.
Yea momo was just never taught or figured out how to just calm down and play he gets nervous easy
