He's mentioned older obscure wrestlers in other interviews, he's definitely a fan or was a fan who knows alot about pro wrestling. He's the epitome of a wrestling heel as well. A lot of these modern fighters clearly take inspiration from pro wrestling, Covington is one, he's another one who's just a straight pro wrestling heel and he came out to Kurt angles theme knowing full well the crowd was gonna chant you suck because most UFC fans probably know more about pro wrestling than they care to admit.

Actually, the 80s, 90s, I say from 2000 up to 2007 was the best. The 1980s for me was PG which is true. Even the early 90s. But when I started watching wrestling again in 98, it was totally reeking of awesomeness back then. Even the seven years of the 2000's. From 2000 to 2007 was cool. 2008 all the way to today pretty much sucks.

I don't get why MMA fans think it's so fun to bash pro wrestling. They aren't in the same category, one is entertainment and the other is an actual competition. I for one really enjoy both the WWE and UFC, love Conor too I think he blends entertainment with MMA better than anyone ever has, but he does act a lot like Flair used to. I don't see a problem with it tho because it's got him to where he is
