The applause at the end of "Holy God, We Praise Thy Name," again at the end of the "Salve Regina," and as if the focus was not already enough draining away from our Lord, one of the MCs bursting on stage with live mic to encourage more human praise for the schola. In his book, The Spirit of the Liturgy, Pope Benedict XVI had this to say: “Wherever applause breaks out in the liturgy because of some human achievement, it is a sure sign that the essence of liturgy has totally disappeared and been replaced by a kind of religious entertainment. Such attraction fades quickly - it cannot compete in the market of leisure pursuits, incorporating as it increasingly does various forms of religious titillation." (The Spirit of the Liturgy) Indeed, as one of the hymns sung during the Holy Hour exhorts us, "Let all mortal flesh keep silence and in fear and trembling stand." O Sacrament Most Holy, O Sacrament Divine, all praise and all thanksgiving, be every moment Thine.
We're you there? Maybe. I was. Normally, I would have the same regard to applause, but this was different. My feel on this evening: It was not applause directed at any human accomplishment. It was applause directed towards our Lord and Savior for His awesome generosity and eternal love.
God knows everyone hearts I agree this is an applause to God .. Jesus is a personal God He alone knows us each and every one even our hairs on our heads are known to Him .. I think this outpouring of worship is Mother Angelica dream … and for all of us ! The triumph is coming every knee will bend 🙏

When it comes to sacred music, choirs are best heard and not seen. Those men seemed a bit embarrassed at the MC calling for more applause -- for them. I don't blame them at all. They were placed on a stage under a spotlight where they were seen as much as heard. They seemed to be there to do what the Church intends for worship, not to garner recognition for merely performing well.

The fire of Love for the Lord could be felt throughout the entire Congress. Disunity only harms the body of Christ as was mentioned in several ways during the Congress.
