Squiffer is my favourite weapon to watch in comp because of the way top players jump around all over the place with it. I kinda suck with it but I want to learn the weapon just because of how cool it is imo.

Yeah no that would be a nerf. jumping during a charge after or just before the first full charge ring slows down the charge and gives you more options for how you want to spread explosive arrows on the battlefield. This is necessary for stringers to have all their unique shot placement options
It was treated fairly well in 1, with great/decent kits, became a mid mpu weapon in 2 (kits didn’t help), and became shit in 3 (no mpu and distance nerf from 1 to 2 kills it. plus the kits are so mid)

Been playing squiff a lot recently, and it is so much fun. Crab cancelling while falling is soooo satisfying and I pray the fresh squiffer has zip and a good sub. It also made me realize charge didn’t mean sniper when I got out ranged by a slosher.
As a dapple Duallies main, a miss the torpedo splashdown kit because it let me be aggressive, but now? Reef slider is meh, but at least I got my torpedo
I'm going to play ranked today and I'm almost sure it's going to be full of squifers. Everytime Chara uploads about a specific weapon my lobbies are suddenly flooded with said weapon

I also main squiffer and I think using auto bomb was really good in splatoon 2 and on top of that I think zip would combo really well with the no air delay charge

I loved playing the squiffer in splatoon 2, but it got hard to use as you did explain. There are just so many specials that are hard to avoid with the placement of squiffer. I hope it gets more attention in this game, not by the devs, but by other people.

Hi it's me the mythical splat1 squiffer main. What's interesting is that looking over the original trailers and footage for splatoon 1 it seems squiffer was the very first charger ever concieved appearing way before even beta realistic-looking charger and served as a testbed for the class with TONS of kit pieces. It was seen with burst, disruptor, wall, and even inkstrike. I'm still not crazy about zip squiffer but with inkjet being not trash now either of the fresh squiffers will be great now and other changes have made both new squiffer kits(with hammer replacing baller) much more promising if we get them in the future. I honestly cant take it for granted that there is no way to reference a past kit in a bad way for my favorite weapon.
I am extremely happy with this video, the only thing i want from squiffer now is a slight range increase, bcs it feels like it was lacking now bcs of no mpu, and a kit with zip, but honistly i can think of many great special squiffer can get, krakon royal, zip caster, ink jet, trizooka, its had many good special that worked for it well, and for its subs, an auto bomb, and suction is always nice for it too
It's kinda funny how coincidence this is on my side. I was playing around with Squiffer because of its midair charge and seeing this makes me want to be an aggressive sniper. I was playing Z+F Charger a lot, so I got aiming down to use the weapon properly.
I love those short clips of gameplay without the UI or the inkling viewed from various points of view you wouldn't usually be able to set up in the game, because someone must have modified the game in order to create those clips, and they did it all just so they could get footage for a discussion video. That's what I call dedication.
the best way to play squiffer is to utilize the charge hold and no charge penalty midair . aka constantly jump whenever you charge during a fight lmao i main squiffer but ive been playing mostly wiper recently (and before that dynamo + explo -- aka just my mains other than squiffer) but this video made me wanna play it again lol squiffer my beloved

I think wave breaker could be a great special for the weapon. Jumping or squid rolling is a predictable motion that I think squiffer players can easily take advantage of. As for the sub, torp could combo off of the waves well if the player on defense doesn't want to or can't jump, as well as just being a better point sensor to locate targets. Thoughts?
this entire video reminded me of my squiffer days in splat 2 and that made me want to pick it back up… squiffer my beloved you need another kit point sensor is so boring despite it being useful
