He broke his own arm by turning away from his arm. For beginners it's crucial to always look at your hand. This prevents you from getting in that akward position where your upper arm snaps in half so easily.
In general yes... Ive always found that description to be a bit lacking though as you can totally be in the wrong position while still LOOKING at your hand (like, over your shoulder yaknow).
Is the viking one of my favourite wsm, you best believe it, he is the throne taker. He made it so cool in the 80's as a small kid I thought I was watching something close to as cool as my grandad and grandmother in church in st Mary's. Are these men gods, I capes, what a beast, kaz is my favourite, big z is the near complete boss, eddy and shaw are great, but remember the old guys, our war horse Terry hollands deserves a damn good shout. When he became the over 40's champ I was so happy for him, when I was younger I used to love seeing Terry's interviews and knowing a polish monster was in his wake. Crazy 5 time champ. Been to poland, loved it.
who the hell decided this event? It is so risky and so stupid to put big strong guys with no experience in armwrestling against each other in a competition
Organizers definitely were thinking arm wrestling is just standing straight up at the table and whoever has the most brute strength side pressure wins the match.
What an astoundingly stupid event to put into a strongman competition 🙄😅 I guess they hadn't yet seen the hundreds of RUclips videos of drunk people snapping their arms arm wrestling back then 😅
@@frv6610 RUclips was launched in February 2005, "Me at the zoo" was published in April the same year. This competition took place in 1995, so ten years before RUclips.
You could tell he was genuinely sorry for hurting Nathan. Solid dude.
He didnt hurt Nathan, Nathan hurt himself because he didnt know how to armwrestle in a safe way.
He didn't hurt Nathan. Nathan hurt himself
Everything before 2009 was wild. That’s why classic strongman is so fun to watch.
todays strongman is like powerlifting with no rules. powerlifting + :D
@@lordmegatron6145 todays strongman is just a circus. all crap.
@@julianlaustsen1991 yeah Sir..
Magnus was my idol when groning up.. Still is, amazing Athlete and human
"I probably broken his arm"
That snap though
I like how Magnus celebrates hahaha.

Nathan is a dead ringer for Ivan Drago (Dolph Lundgren) from the Rocky series.
He was sweets in heartbreak ridge
this one never gets old

Oh no no
I remember this incident live: wathced all the "Strongest Man" in those days...
Best moment ever in Sweden history..
02:20 "he won't win this easy" He didn't win at all. Instead, he destroyed! What an unfortunate moment!
That's a wonderful moment
Why the hell would this event be in Worlds Strongest man?
Best event they ever had
Because organizers had no idea what armwrestling really is, and thought "oh its a cool thing to see who is stronger!"
Jones should of slipped out. Dude was trying a press against a top roll and had no idea he was doing. Power vs Technique and we all saw what happened.
The real question is why isn’t it! Strongman is about being a well rounded strong man.
@@Strider86 yeah..

That hurts
Swedish power💛💙💛💙
Nathan is pretty tough though, Magnus used all he got and did it in 10 seconds. That's 10 very long seconds
VIKING POWER BOY
Swedish farmer!!!!!! NUFF SAID.

MAGNUS is the VIKING!!!

Torfi olafsson my favorite😀😀😀😀🌈🌈🌈🌈
imagine this from Phil Martins point of view. Nathan completely smoked him. Then magnus defeats Nathan and then breaks his arm.
Nathan probably should have won that year maybe
Yeah, he probably could've won a few. He had the potential but probably made a lot more money in wrestling and acting.
Wasn't good enough
Imagine being unable to continue competition because of an arm wrestling accident.
why would that be hard to imagine? Arm wrestling causes tons of injuries
Then there’s me, the ultimate beast who would wreck all of them
It's arm wrestling not eating
Horrible technique
