Too bad removing the finger print isn't an option. If the finger print sensor isn't working, it locks you out of the ability to change your finger print.
I have a Samsung galaxy A12 and the fingerprint sensor stopped working and when I go into settings and press "Fingerprints" a thing pops up on the bottom of my screen that says something like "finger print sensor not working, restart your phone if this keeps happening." And I've restated my phone over and over and nothing happens. What is wrong with my phone?????🤷♀️

Well, restarting the phone (LG V30) does work sometimes. But lately not so much. And when it doesn't there is no way of finding the fingerprint setting (as if it's not installed). As for the update don't bother as there isn't one, we all know that Android is rubbish with updates. I haven't had an update since Jan 19... WTF
If you can't open the fingerprint settings because "The sensor isn't working", just reboot to recovery mode and wipe the cache partition, then restart. It should do the trick.

None of that worked so don't know what your talking about. Mine says "Unable to use fingerprint sensor. Contact a customer centre." This just happened last week randomly! Now it's a LG-6 I just use it so I can view my security cameras. I can log in and everything just everything I had with the fingerprint is gone and thank God I wrote down my passwords in note pad and always emailed it to me every 3 months. Also put one in the safe, emailed one to kids and have it in my will. You never know! But I'd sure like to fix this!
