Ah, now I finally understand Liu's death in MK9. Raiden was trying to give him Captain Marvel powers, but he's MK9 Raiden so he fucked it up. And if we're talking foreshadowing some of MK9's issues, I noticed Lex's ending referring to Quan Chi's "near omnipresence".
Speaking of the lanterns I thought it would be cool if Mk had their equivalent of the lantern corps but called the chakra corps or something . And each different color chakra would represent the chakras of the one being just like how in dc each color represents the universe emotions. And rather than rings it could be bracelets. I think it would be cool if Mk could have south asian(Indian) representation.
My opinion has shifted over time. MK is a universe with heroes, villains, and superpowers, but so is Dungeons and Dragons if you go that broadly. There are matters of tone and storytelling tropes that belong in "capeshit" fiction that don't have a place in a kung fu movie and vice versa.

Modern MK is just ripping off the MCU and all of DC's "Crisis" events constantly though, it's trying way too hard to be "relevant" for "modern audiences" and lost any sense of what the flavor that brought people to it in the first place was.
