OOh I'm tempted but its winter....BTW excited to hear you are on the latest podcast of Everyday Style School. I haven't heard it yet but looking forward to listening on my way home.
Very pretty dress-that stripe really makes the flowers pop!! You looked great in it! :+) I love adding power mesh to my slacks and so on, it really helps if your having a "bloated" day!! You have a fabulous day!!
What a gorgeous make! I am so impressed with your knack for pairing fabric and patterns, I'm not so skilled (yet?), so have quite a few misses but it's all a learning process. You look great in that dress!
I would love to know how you prep crinkle rayon! Did you iron it prior to cutting? And did you size up to account for the crinkles? I just bought three different crinkle rayons and have no clue what to do 😫 your dressed up beautiful!
I would definitely not size up. It grows. I used it once and did iron out most of the wrinkles before cutting my regular size. The wrinkles give the fabric a kind of stretchiness esp. after washing. During wear it relexes and becomes looser. Mine has quite a loose weave, so would not use it for tight fitting garments. It is lovely fabric to wear.
I agree with Lily. I ironed it before cutting and most of the crinkle ironed out, but it will pop back after washing. It does relax as you wear it . I treat it just like I would a rayon challis.
Hey Whitney! Can’t remember if I told you I have a name for my channel, it’s Mary form Minneapolis. anyway love this dress on you how adorable! I meant to order the Sybil, summer uniform is a knit skirt. I even wear my skirt to bed at times. Haha I especially want the pencil skirt. Anyway this control top tip, what a life saver, thx so,so much! I was on Surge fabrics yesterday and nearly threw their power mesh in my cart. It’s extra beefy looking and pretty reasonable$. Lucky I didn’t check out yet. The order was too big, tons of past choices $5 a yard. Anyway going back after I order this these two patterns. Im reorganizing my PDFs so I’ll use them more. ie. so many Itch to Stitch unsewn, what tragedy! I’m going to get a little photo printer like a sprocket so I can see what they are. Duh. Still planning to email you re: stage fright as I’ve been purging and getting this sewing room fit for public view. Need a bit of time to decompress after a long stress period. Still looking forward to joining you here some day. I went to pick up a Cabinet to store fabric from offerup and didn’t buy it because I only had so much cash, I left with a sewing machine, ugh. An Elna. It was an estate sale and I couldn’t leave it sitting there all alone, awwww. Haha. I got franklin mint thimble collection with a shelf too, yes! Score! Thanks so much for all of your solid, important advice all the time. You personally have upped my sewing acumen so much Whitney, it’s phenomenal. Take care and enjoy the rest of your summer before your kids go to high school, both at once. Wow.😞🥰👍🌸
Hi Whitney I really like the fabric you used for your Love Notions sundress, where would I find it on Minervas website . Thanks for all your videos I have learnt a lot from them😊 cheers from Marja in New Zealand
@@TomKatStitchery i've got the pattern! and the fabric comes in monday. you have the same chest measurements that i do, so im going to try the same size. i swear figuring out which size to make is always the hardest part!!
Its adorable, looks so good on you ,i just found out they have a shearing foot for my sewing machine i was having trouble figuring out hopefully worls now ❤love your skirt
The Sybil pattern comes with a piece for that control top (and instructions for how to install it!). It’s pretty great for keeping knit bottoms from clinging!
The dress is so pretty! I think I will be investing in that pattern. I had to laugh when you spoke about your husband taking a photo with the back of your bra showing. It is amazing how they just keep going on without noticing those things. I have injured my knee, so I can't get to the laundry area downstairs. He is now doing the laundry and that's a big mistake!! LOL....I asked him to please hang up my tops and of course, they all went into the dryer! My favorite linen shirt also ended up in the dryer and I am so hoping it still fits. It's a good thing that I think he is very good looking with a great smile, LOL! If you hadn't pointed it out, I would not have noticed the bra showing at all. So that is a saving grace for you. I think you did do a top that you needed a racerback bra and I am wondering where you found one for a full bust? I have looked, but can't find one as I have that problem with straps showing on the tops where the armhole curves in on the back . Thanks so much for this video...It is pretty and you look great in it!
You aren’t kidding about those husbands! Luckily mine is also very good looking with dreamy eyes 😉. As far as racerback bras, I bought these clips off of Amazon that hold your straps together in the back creating a racer back from a regular bra. They’re great!
Hilarious about your watch talking!!! LOL. Great video....thanks for the lessons.
😂 I think my reaction scared a few people!
@@TomKatStitchery I totally got scared by your reaction and jumped too! lol!
I "jumped" when your phone started to talk too ... LOL!!!
I did too! Lol
🤣 I think when I bend my wrist it sometimes hit the button and it will do that. It scares me every time!
That Tempo looked great on you.
Thank you so much!

This will be a good one for when warmer weather rolls around!
Love this little dress!!!
Thank you!
Thankyou for showing the skirt inner panel. That was very helpful!
Oh good! I’m sorry I forgot to do that in the first video!
Ooh this dress would be gorgeous in a stripe like your top!
It would!
What a gorgeous fabric!! The dress is super cute, I can see it both dressed up or casual for basically any occasion
Me too!
I've been hoping for a dress pattern like this! I really really struggle with buttons, so this pattern is perfect! Your make is beautiful!
Oh good! It’s a great pattern!
Gorgeous dress. Love the fabric

It is definitely a learning process!
Love this and downloaded. Thanks Whitney. Your version is absolutely beautiful and suits you to a tea. BTW I say shearing too :-)
😂 oh good! I’m glad I’m not alone on that!
Cute dress, Whitney! Love that fabric :) Thanks for this video, and have a great day!

I’ve been looking for that exact pattern! Yes!
Oh good!
Love this new pattern! Your fabric choice is just stunning ❤️

Definitely email me! The stage fright is a real thing, but not nearly as scary once you get a video or two under your belt.
this is beautiful-love the fabric.I need to get that pattern!

Isn’t it beautiful? I have a link for the fabric in the description box of the video. It comes in a few different colored backgrounds as well!
thank you mam🌼
My pleasure!
I love that dress! Birthday money to the rescue! Also, I’ve noticed that the Joann’s power net is not very... sucky in. It’s way to stretchy.
That’s interesting. I’ve never used the power mesh from JoAnns, but I do love the stuff from Fabric Fairy!

Ooh! That’s great! I’d love to know how that works!
Fabulous
Thank you so much!
You look so cute!
Thanks!
That’s adorable on you! Could one wear a thin T-shirt underneath it? Or would it not look right.
It would give it a very 90’s feel but with the shirring I’ll bet you could.
You could totally wear it over a t-shirt!
How do you measure for a shape wear panel? Never used the stuff.
Yes! I want to know, also!
