    EXCELLENT addition to presenting a pattern. Visual hands on demo of fabric comparison to types of jargon labeled fabrics. THANK YOU. So very helpful!!!! Keep doing this and curious why it didn't get it out on the same day (Friday A.M.) not the day after.

    This was very helpful Whitney. I was concerned about the dolman sleeve because I really like either a 3/4 or full length sleeve. I am one of those people who is always always cold. Thanks for your suggestions.

    How do we tell when the high bust measurement is used and not the standard full bust?

    • @LoveNotions
      @LoveNotions  8 месяцев назад

      Great question! Each pattern will have a recommendation for how to choose sized based on measurements. Most (if not all) tops and jackets recommend starting with high bust for size and grading accordingly. If your full bust is more than 4" difference with high bust, we generally recommend using the full bust bodice (vs standard.) But again, all of those fitting recommendations are included in each pattern on the size chart page. ☺️ ~J

    Whitney, can I ask you a question? I am making this top for my sister, using the full bust version as she is quite big in the bust area. However, she is only 4'11". I read that I should be taking off approximately 1/2 inch for every inch she is shorter than the standard 5'5" frame, and best to take it out of two different areas. Would you draft it off of the bottom, and then somewhere below the armscye? I want to get this right for her as it is for her birthday and she is going through a bit of a hard time right now.

      Hi Paula. 1/2inch per inch is indeed the general suggestion but to be honest, our bodies are all so different and we carry our length differently. We can be the same height but I have a long torso and short legs while you have the opposite. It would be extremely helpful if you can use her body measurements instead but if not, you can follow the 1/2" general rule. Depending on the pattern, it can be easier to remove length in different places to avoid major distortion. For a straighter or boxier pattern, you can take the length out from one area and be just fine. Don't remove the length from the hem. Follow the length adjustment guide on Page 6 of the Vivace pattern instead. Hope that helps. ~K

    I've got lots of crepe that I love, but it's sheer.. What can I line it with that's not too hot or thick please ?

    • @LoveNotions
      @LoveNotions  Год назад +1

      I would recommend either self lining, or lining with a rayon or voile. ~K
