Faouzia is one of my favorite singers. I love Faouzia's dark voice and her belting gives me chill. Tears of Gold is a very entertaining song that keeps the listener interested. You can find most of her songs in different versions on her channel, but I prefer the stripped versions. Faouzi is not only multilingual (English, Arabic and French) but also a multi-instrumentalist. She plays the piano, guitar, violin, djembe and other percussion instruments. She gave a short live online concert "Live In Concert from the Burton Cummings Theatre" that is also on her channel. The last song of this concert after the credits is "Elon" which is one of my favorites. Also "You don't even know me (stripped)", "Bad Dreams (stripped)" and "Für Elise" (based on Beethoven's composition) are awesome.
Thanks Michael! Nancy and I both fell in love with her voice- she's amazing! Thanks for the other recommendations, too. I definitely need more Faouzia!
Loved your very heartfelt review and it's great you also focus on the lyrics!! Discovered your channel for the first time via this review of Faouzia and look forward to seeing you review more of her songs!! Trust me, she will keep surprising you in every reaction 😀 Maybe try Fur Elise (Live) or Desert Rose from the Singer Competition. Thanks and all the best!!
This is the first (or second) song i heard from Faouzia few months ago and i was sold. She has so much variety in her singing and gorgeous interesting voice with huge range. Her arabic trills and scales makes her vocals so interesting. And she is so good in live performances. And all that in that age! Only 24 years old today. I'm more rock oriented (prog), as my own songs (few found here in my sites) reveals, but when you hear such an extraordinary talent, it doesn't matter what genre or music style it represents. And the best thing for me, as a musician and composer myself, is that she is a wonderful song writer. Her original songs are all so good. It is interesting to see what will happen in the future. She totally deserves all that praise. 😎TTKing
Thank you so much, my friend! Being that you are an artist (and a prog musician!) I think I ought to check out your stuff as well! I just subbed to your channel- can't wait!
@@BemusingBill Well...that's a little hobby of mine. After 25 years break of any instrument playing, started making music again...but thanks. And thanks for Faouzia reaction!
Beauty ,brains and talent. Those are three truths we know as Faouzia ! . This young lady speaks three languages, plays three instruments and has just completed her university degree in engineering at university. This young lady has it all. She is the supreme songwriter. Absolutely has written hundreds of songs and also a tremendous tremendous singer. Her Arabic roots giver such a unique sound you will hear in all of her songs and gives her that wonderful tonalityand she's able to sing through all her registers. Her transitions from highs to low are absolutely amazing, the vocal control and breath control that she exhibits are out of this world. This young lady sadly but true is hardly known in Canada, but recently has become a superstar in China last year in many of the competitions and concerts she did for the whole year of 2024. She's become an overnight sensation there and is a superstar and hopefully this will transition her back to North America audiences where they will understand what great talent this young lady possesses. I want to thank you for starting your journey with Faith zia This song "Tears of Gold" is an original and it's amazing how she can do strip down versions of songs. Just her and a piano and she can belt out with the best of them. Keep posting my friend. They're so much more for you to see in this journey ! Sending you much thanks and love from Canada. 👍🇨🇦❤️
Thank you so much for the info on this amazing talent! I've read a lot of comments saying she has a degree in engineering which made me wonder what kind of engineering? I read that it's computer engineering! Smart and super talented! AND beautiful to boot!!! That's a triple threat! Sending love from your southern neighbor down here in NY 🤘❤️🤘
I am so glad that Michael has introduced you to Faouzia. She has been on my "Bill and Nancy have to hear this singer" list for a couple of months. But 1. metal music and 2. male singers have kept bumping her down. Great that you have finally had a chance to hear her.
Oh I love that you’re breaking down the lyrics as well.. her vocal talent is unquestionable, but many people don’t give enough credit to her lyricism. She does these themes a lot in her songs, you should definitely check out “Fur Elise” (live performance in her channel) and “Elon” (at the end of a live concert also in her channel)
Oh yes. Original Faouzia fans loved her songwriting abilities first. I don’t think the people who got to know her on “the singer” understand how much of an AmazingWriter she is. Not yet.
Welcome to the wonderful and magnificent world of Faouzia! Her catalog is amazing and she's only getting better! This is a great place to start, her signature song, and the stripped version, there is a produced mv for it, but I really prefer the stripped version best. She's done a lot in the last 4 to 5 years, gone to university, put out a few eps won a few awards, been nominated for a Juno, and recently she's been in China and participated in 2 singing competitions, one as a contestant for established singers - Singer 2024 and the other for the upcoming singers as a benchmark to work towards every week - The Next Singer 2024. She has had some wonderful collaborations with different artists already, including Kelly Clarkson, John Legend and David Guetta. Enjoy the journey down the rabbit hole, it is a great and wonderous ride! It doesn't matter where you go next, she is amazing and will always amaze you!
She's legit one of the best vocalists of this generation, it's insane how good she is. Some fun facts about Faouzia: -She has never taken vocal lessons, but plays instruments (piano, violin, guitar...) -She is Moroccan-Canadian born in Casablanca, Morocco (lives in Canada now) and likes to use stylistic choices used in that area (the fast vibrato of Faouzia is part of her Moroccan heritage) -She writes her own songs -She is fluent in 3 languages (English, Arabic and French) Some recommendations for future reactions: 1- Fur Elise Live Performance ( its her original song) 2- You don't even know me (stripped) (original song) 3- Desert Rose Live from The Singer 2024 (Sting cover) 4- RIP, Love Live from The Signer 2024 (original song) 5- Bad dreams (original song)

Faouzia is THE best vocalist of her generation (she’s 24). Her talent is beyond. She is not vocally trained but has learned to play piano and violin from a young age. I would recommend her Fur Elise live studio performance next. It’s amazing!
In this song, she’s like an emotional ATM, and someone keeps making withdrawals until she’s empty. She loves writing sad and dramatic songs. A lot of toxicity in her lyrics. You’ll ask “Who hurt this girl?” I really like how you interpret the lyrics. Subbed. If you remember Sting’s “Desert Rose” from 1999 with Cheb Mami, I suggest you listen to Faouzia’s performance from this summer’s Singer2024. You will likely have to blur to video. The song is older than she is, but she always includes it in her concerts. She grew up speaking Arabic, French and English.
She is also an engineer, I believe. 💛 Shes talked about it in interviews, how her song-writing is heavily influenced by her background in engineering. Also, she is using a common vocal and singing technique that is often found in classical Indian music called Melismatic. It's where certain sounds and notes are sung over other sounds and notes at the same time. (I'm not an expert though so I probably butchered that definition a bit.) If you type in Melismatic and Classical Indian Music, and compare and contrast with Faouzia's singing and you can see how she uses singing method. As for songs of hers that I personally love, "Mountain" (weirdly I prefer the OMV over the stripped version, the piano was too loud and overpowered her voice a bit) was my first ever Faouzia song. Her lyrics and voice were so inspiring and there's such emotional strength that she just pours into it and also into you. And her song "You Don't Even Know Me" is also a great song I love. One of my hearts desires is to see her perform with Anoushka Shankar who is an amazing Sitar player. 💛💛💛 Nuu it wont save the rest of what i said... Lyrically speaking... I'll leave that in Discord. :P
Thank you so much for the info, my dear friend! I've never heard of that technique before but now I understand it better. I can see why you are a fan of hers- now I can say the same! Found out she's an independent artist which is a big plus for me. And a multi-instrumentalist, multi- linguist to boot. Amazing!! Can't wait to check out those recommendations ❤️
