As a rising senior, I loved the conciseness of the advice and especially the values system to make essays easier. You've gotta make vlogs and short-form snippets of Penn this fall bro good luck with your classes.
Thank you so much Dylan. Your my inspiration and I'm applying ED to Upenn too! Your videos inspire me so much and I really hope one day I might be able to be as cool as you. Your such an incredible person and my role model, Im making my own videos now and working hard because you inspired me so much
Hey man! Right now I'm in my sophomore year and I think you should make separate videos for different classes like junior, sophomore etc. (and especially students with limited resources and opportunities)
Hey Dylan, This is Raman. I want to thank god that I came across your channel. You are my dream mentor, the one I always thought that I should have. Now I have a path to go to Upenn's M&T program. Thank you and god that I clicked on your video. CAN I MAIL YOU SOME FOR MY QUERIES ?
Im an international student and my whole profile is mix of business and engineering just like yours. Does a profile like that only makes sense in programs like M&T? Would it create a disadvantage if i apply to a just engineering program in a school?
Hey I was wondering about your startups nivaro and kolly and how you edited the ai just for the parameters of your website. Im interested in ai aswell and want to make a website idea using chatgpt as well 😃
I believe you're fine. Your GPA is almost perfect. Even so, from what I've learned from other yt channels, the Ivy League does not solely focus on grades but also on extracurriculars and/or course rigor (I've seen people who got a 3.7 GPA and still got into an Ivy). Many colleges are test-optional, so, whether you want to submit your SAT scores or not, they will consider other factors in your application. Make sure you read the requirements before applying to the colleges you want. Good luck!
Really enjoyed the video Dylan, just subscribed for more high quality videos like these. I also have a question that I want the brutal truth to. So I'm a rising sophmore with not so great grades but good course rigor and I opted to take a version of pre-calc, and as a result I will be taking AP Calc Ab instead of Bc junior year and I am worried how these two factors will affect my chances at schools like Penn for biology. Thanks Dylan!
I would say that you should be fine, especially since you aren't going into a super math heavy major. But, try to get an A on AB and then take BC your senior year to try and make up.
Hey there, I am currently doing medicine in Bangladesh. I am in my 2nd year. Never wanted to be a doctor. Just doing it due to parental pressure. I really want to pursue law eventually. Is there any way I can do law in any of the ivy leagues? Disclaimer: Medicine is an undergraduate degree in South Asia called MBBS and you can do post grad afterwards to specialize in any specific area. And if your answer is yes, what are the extracurriculars I will be needing to do? Just a brief idea would suffice. Sorry for such an elaborate question!
I'm pretty sure for law your undergrad doesn't matter, you just need to have done an undergrad. extracurriculars that would be good are likely debating / public speaking, looking for internships at law offices/firms, doing mock trials or MUN, having a sport to play and just some sort of leadership role
It depends - if your schools offers it then yes but if it doesn’t then no. Remember, it’s all about the context of your school and how you perform with regards to it
@@dylan_ott So basically if your school offers it and you don't take it even if you do REALLY well at school your still not gonna get into ivy leagues?
I mean there isn’t any like cutoff or anything that’s gonna get you instantly rejected - but colleges like to see you take the hardest classes available to you
@@dylan_ott Can you give me some advice on what to do? I am going into 9th grade and I want to get into an ivy league. I am taking one honors class, but I feel I will do well in it and will join many extracurricular and obtain leadership roles.
@@iikittyplayz841if your school offers ap classes and you don’t take them, from what i've heard, your odds will be close to zero. I’m also still in high school and i'm not an expert but i saw this and wanted to share what i've heard if it helps at all
Hey ,… Would self-studying for AP Calculus BC have a negative or a positive impact on my college application???(i got a 5 on ap calc ab so probably gonna get a 4 or 5 in this one too)

I have a 1580 sat but only a 3.9 gpa. Does the same logic apply for gpa where it just needs to be high enough? Or does my gpa cook me?
No bro u good 😂

Did you have any national/international awards. Follow up: do you think that is needed when you have really strong ecs?
Hey how did u make ur websites? did u code them or did u use like a 3rd party app
Hey, I'm just curious, but what grade did you start your startups and how long have you been working on them?
What was the ai that rates college essay that you created Dylan?

I'm double majoring in both CS and Econ through the M&T program
Would you say an UW gpa of between 3.9 and 4.0 would meet the benchmark?
Yeah definitely
