Personally, I felt Mani sir is more comfortable in this interview comparing it to Baddie's one (of course not everything can be directly compared and also we wont know what happens off camera). But still Sudhir has done so well in this. Sudhir this a feather on your cap! Keep going. Vaazhthukkal.

The one thing I couldn’t digest was Adithya Karikalan (who was a little more than 19 in the book) to be Vikram. Thank you for bringing that point up- the only interviewer who did it 👏🏼👏🏼 Also, speaking of contemporarising mythology- Kaatru veliyidai’s heroine’s brother talks to her about Karthi and she starts to love him from then on just like Manimegalai’s character falls in love with Vandhiyathevan.

Glad to see Maniratnam speaking in Tamil. Struggles somewhat because he thinks in English, but then good enough. And I am glad he gives total credit to Kalki. Hope he gives proper respect to Kalki in the movie’s credits.
Kalki is mentioned everywhere from posters to trailers. So he will credited in the film in main credits. Don't worry . He is Maniratnam . He will give proper credit to writers.

5:47, brilliant questions, its laughable when aditya kariklan is in his early 20s in kalki's novel, whereas vikram is 57 years old. similarly karthi and jayaram ravi are in their 40s. but arulmohi and vandhidevan are in their 20s in the novel.
