Thank you, seriously, thank you. I am brand new to weaving, having been intimidated for decades (did lots of other stuff, sewing, quilting, crochet) Weaving was something only super talented people did (yeah, yeah, I know, but my dyslexic mind had trouble getting wrapped around it) All I had ever been around were the massive floor looms which seemed to have so many moving parts, feet, hands, a full contact sorta craft. Then, I ran across rigid heddles looms...... A friend loaned me her 12" Ashford and I fell in love. Inkle, I am SO excited to make one and then weave on it, I can't stand myself for the excitement (my Husband's heading to elk camp and the shop is MINE :) ) Straps for days.... I love to crochet purses and bags, I rarely find the strap(s) I have in my head for that item. I have some that I crocheted 4 yrs ago still waiting. So, again, thank you, your explanation of the pattern was spot on for me and I hadn't found that until I found your channel. May God bless and keep you and yours.
Your explanation of warping and working out the double threads has really made sense to me. I have the same book but couldn’t work out the Baltic weaving section at all. Looking forward to viewing your next video on the actual weave. Thank you.
Thank you so much for your very clear instructions. I too had forgotten the detail of warping up the inkle loom! I can now wipe the dust off & get started!
Awesome video! Thank you! I understood a lot of the style watching videos but yours really made it all click. I was able to create my pattern while watching.
LOVE IT! LOVE IT! Thank you for your tutorial on warping the Inkle Loom for Baltic. I belong to a club for Inkle Looming in AZ and the group ( me included) are a bunch of newbies. We finished basic weaving and wanted to learn new patterns. We were not to sure on the warping and you answered all our questions. Again, Thank you.
I was so happy to find your video I have the same book and I tried to warp my loom a year ago and it didn't work out wasn't understanding on threading and following the pattern so this will help me a lot to be able to start using all the patterns that are in the book
Thank you so much. I have been making myself a little mad trying to figure out pick up in general but specifically Baltic Inkle wea it so plain and understandable. Thanks much.
Hello Lisa, What a wonderful presentation on baltic pick up warping. It took me three weeks trying to figure out on how to to baltic pick up warping by watching youtube and how they follow the pattern, ( pick up, dropping threads). I learned how to follow patterns but there was only wrong with my weaving, my warpping was wrong. I finally ( 2 am in the morning thinking) figured it out. Now I just watched you warpping for baltic weaving, I just wished I watched your presenation long long time ago. You are right there was no video or on youtube tutorial on baltic pick up warping any where. Only way to do it was to read warping instructions. Thank you very much for your wonderful presentation.
Thank you for this video im still trying to get to know how to read a pattern. Also im still learning how to do the cards on a inkle loom also im trying to figure out which way the cards go from S threaded to Z threaded. but the pick up looks very easy which ive yet to try and as you said theres not much videos out there for this kind of weaving.
Well you have twisted my arm. I shall try how to hold the camera to do a weaving tutorial. . 😄 is it this Celtic knot pattern which you are interested I ?
@@lisaash3304 me personally, I'm interested in any pattern you have, although its probably best to use this pattern so folks can follow along. :) thank you for this tutorial! Other videos are fine but don't show the whole process or explain it, so this was helpful. I only noticed a mistake and that was the heddle count in the beginning (which was corrected later). All in all, excellent video!
This helps me so much. Thanks for all your time and work. One question, in your warping diagram, the top block that says 6 xs, actually the left column line should move over to include the last double white unshed threads, right?
Hi Maggie if you were referring to the Celtic knot pattern that I warped up in this video when you weave through the first six rows which I marked all the dots on that is the end of the pattern you just start over again on the first row that’s why I didn’t mark any of the dots beyond that point
@@maggiepatterson7949 I believe I snagged this pattern off of Pinterest but the 6 rows is the whole pattern. if you repeat those six rows over and over again you will end up with a beautiful Celtic knot pattern. Just ignore what I drew beyond row 6. Once you have woven to row 6 just start over again on row one again
Could you please tell me what you tie too. I also cut and tie every thread change unless they are the same color. The way you do it would be a great time and thread saver.I was wondering about crossed threads.?
hi thanks for watching. to answer your question I tie the last loose threads two the initial taped down thread that I started with there should be one blue and one background thread and one pattern thread that I taped down initially. Then at the end of warping I tie the remaining pattern and background threads to the initial taped down threads that I started with. I hope that helps
I’ve never made a RUclips video but there are times I’ve searched endlessly trying to find something. I wonder if the titles of RUclips videos make a difference? You have a short title and I don’t see the word Loom in it. How would a newbie know to search for Baltic Pickup? I’ve been watching videos for a couple weeks and this is the first I’ve heard of that. I don’t mean to discredit you in any way or your video which is really good. Do titles make a difference on RUclips like they do on Marketplace when searching an item?
When you get to the heddle part in the long box you are calling it says it's the pedal now does that mean that if you use blue that has to be held you at all all the blue you don't go like that old non-huddle or anything like that
Thank you for explaining how to read a pattern and warp on the threads. It made things very clear. I also like your Inkle loom design.

Lisa, where did you get your inkle loom? I would like to get one like it !!
Sorry it’s one of a kind I made it 🛠️
How is the top of the pattern woven....no dots show? All the empty blocks are down?

Do you have to make new heddles for each project, or is it possible to reuse them? Thank you for your informational video.
You can just reuse your heddles and make new ones as needed. Good luck

You rock!

Sorry I don’t quite understand your question. The automatic subtitles didn’t quite translate properly
I have warped my loom and now I don't know how to weave the pattern. H E L P ! ! ! !
