Cybertruck has the potential to be superhuman in auto park since it could theoretically steer the rear wheels independently from the front. Hopefully Tesla continues to improve it, but I don’t think it’s the top priority right now.
I still think they should bring crab walk to the Cybertruck specifically for parallel parking. The Mercedes S Class autopark uses the rear wheels to glide diagonally into a parallel spot and even assist with exiting the spot by automatically gliding diagonally out (which I think is important because you can curb your rear wheels by parking too close to the curb since theyll swing towards it)
I'd vote against having the wheel stationary when making any maneuvers: sounds like a parlor trick but a bad idea. I think as a driver you need that visual cue and if you need to take over quickly, it's good to have the steering wheel where it belongs (based on which way the wheels are turned).
He kills me with how nervous he gets with these videos. Bro.... You're one of the top Tesla dudes. We need this video and data! Screw what the onlookers think!
The occupancy network is so smooth now. Not only the frame rate compared to my 2020 Model 3, but also the lines and cars are much more fixed position and not sliding around when you pass them.
If you are doing other things when the Tesla is auto-parking then you are no longer driving and being alert. You still have full responsibility, so if I use it I need to check my surroundings and ensure the car parks safely.
I think the wheel should still move even though it is steer by wire. The reason is if you need to interveen then you can grab the wheel and pick up. What do you do if ur wheels are turned all the way and the wheel is straight? How do u interveen?
Smart use of inserting your sponsor message in the middle of your actual demo. That’s something I would normally have ffwded through. You got me to listen to one, well done. Other you tubers that I watch have not succeeded in that.
I always debate whether I want to do that or not because I don't blame you for skipping sponsor spots I usually do the same thing. But I figure if it's entertaining or valuable to watch then it's no big deal. It's also a great service that I think is valuable
"turning off the wheel" is a really bad idea if you need to take over from autopilot/park the orientation of the steering wheel won't match the orientation of the tires.
I really like my Volvo where i decide when to open or close just by a short kick with my foot. Works REALLY good, and as said, on both ways, and i can stand there how long i want without it opening if i do not want it to open.
Same here. Tesla may need to have a toggle button next to start requesting “Forward Park” and include this in voice control. Same with current other models. When I shop a forward park is optimal to load items into the back of the car. I presume Tesla thinks forward is easy enough to DIY. Till you se some people even fail in that task.
I wonder when we will get this and the FSD? I read tomorrow for FSD? Seems like this update may be tomorrow unless they are rolling both FSD and self parking together?
Here's something that popped into my head for other Models... If AutoPark always backs in and ASS backs up to ensure forward clearance... Does this mean we will never or rarely be able to use AutoPark and then Summon if it's a dead end parking spot? If the vehicle can't back up, I assume it won't allow summon. On that note, will Banish finally primarily use head in parking? (To ensure ASS ability?) Just some things I've been pondering. Thoughts?
I still contend your CyberTruck will have FSD before my 2021 Model Y will have FSD 12.5. Especially since I don’t do u-tube videos and live in rural area that the map data is horrible and this on routes I typically make at least once a week where the car continues to drive Recklessly into rural business district traveling at 55+ MPH and totally ignores the posted 30 MPH sign till the third sign. Maybe I should start a channel showing all the dangerous activities of Tesla FSD.
Suggestion for a video: Updated automatic braking test with a vision car driving in reverse. Will it alert and stop or hit an object / stunt baby? Inquiring minds want to know!
If you use an iPhone as a key and an Android as a key, but the car update is dependent on the iPhone app version, does your Android app still work properly?
I get the embarrassment for smart summon, or even the really funky FAD stuff, but auto parallel park, the cars better than 50% of humans at that, no reason to be embarrassed.
Just To Get Off Subject. Question Has Your Rear Motors Stop Working As Of Yet. Many Other Folks That Have The Cybertruck Are Reporting Issue With Thier Rear Motors.
Frunk has to stay open for safety. When you leave vehicle and a kid climbs into frunk holding onto the edge it presents an issue. Tesla would need to have the front cameras monitoring for human or animal presence.
Precision could be better but the cybertruck is inherently difficult/impossible to park. USA parking spots are on average wider, many 2.745meter or 9 feet but I see you have some that are only 2.5meters as well like Europe and that has to be tight for a cyby. Of course that could be part of the decision making, go around on its own looking for suitable spots. Or better yet, knowing. And sure crabbing might be cool for parallel parking
Tesla should have said right out the gate that cyber truck wasn’t going to be launching with autopilot because there wouldn’t be enough training data available. More trucks need to make it out any have human miles logged before there is fsd.
This doesn't make sense though. If you already have the data required for FSD on a model 3 for example, you only need to recalibrate for the different car size, camera angles, etc. That's extremely basic stuff/programming.
@@BrandonMeyer1641 You dont understand me, but maybe that's my fault. The cybertruck needs no data collection from users. It's just a different size car/truck. So FSD only needs to "understand" the new parameters as truck size and perhaps camera angles. This is just hardcoding. If this isn't required for FSD because angles dont matter and size of the car is irrelevant (perhaps it just only makes use of sensors to determine its distance from objects) then FSD should just work as well as on other models straight away. It makes absolutely no sense whatsoever that tons of people should need to drive around with the cybertruck for endless miles again to collect data. Then this process needs to be repeated for every new model. Again, makes no sense.
Because pulling into a spot is infinitely harder than backing into a spot, if you want to have a super precise parking. And pulling out is way better being able to see vs backing out. When backing in you can take control, when pulling out you can be more aware :)
