So this is a diver, she FLANK, Hit a lot damage in the backline and run like hell. The enemy team cant kill her demon in good speed, you can come from nowhere, JUMP combo, 1 portal AOE sword, 1 portal leaving the chaos and demon and use left click in any situation, as start combo or End enemy.
I have 30+ hours on Magik, and I find I'm always playing Magik differently depending on the other team and how my team is playing. I think Magik is one of toughest hero's to play because you can't just play her the same way every game. Sometimes you psuedo tank, sometimes you flank, sometimes you just aggro dive, sometimes you have to play super slow and stick with your healers. She feels like the most "Flow" depending "assassin" hero, I feel like with Black Panther and Spidey you play the same way everytime basically but not Magik.
5:11 "They can never be played to their full potential" while me, an invisible woman main, blows the entire enemy team off the map while my dps and tank spam "I need healing!" ping. Idiots think I play Sue to heal people.
You could argue Squirrel Girl is more of a sniper, Namor is midrange, Thor, Cap, Starlord and Moonknight are flankers, and Storm as a support. Still a great video.
To me, Penny, Namor and Loki are true Strategists, becouse, YOU CAN REALY sniper hard with namor, but you need keep safe or use your turrets with wisdom. Penny, she have stun, she control and hold the line, and you can use her spider mines like a Motar, and know where you put the spidernest are the key roll to win even in conquest maps. Loki, if you are a attacker - Use, Inv Run to objective in Shin Shybuya, Kylintar or Wakanda, put 2 clones, show up and see the magic bar rise up when the teams clash in the wrong position, You can kill the healer or sniper if you are in better position shottin with 3 lokis.
Storm does support, but her buffs dramatically increased her dps potential, to the point where she's a serious threat. A lot of people don't know that her primary fire pierces enemies (which was a thing pre buff), so around chokes and main pathways she can be a menace hitting anyone within line of sight all at once just lining them up, but the pierce of course doesn't go through barriers. The best way to play her is stick to the ground 90% of the time, as otherwise you can't reliably hit multiple enemies at once. By only hitting one enemy at a time, you're missing out on 2 to 3 times the damage on average that you could be doing. You pelt people with her primary, and your secondary is hitscan that deals around 100 damage (and probably a bit more, at least with damage boost enabled) and can easily finish non-vanguard characters, so it's an execution move essentially that's super reliable... as it's hitscan with a large hitbox. Thor pairing gives her a zap ability that bounces between enemies, further boosting her multi-target, multi-damage potential. She offers support with movement you can use to help your team escape ults and such (or shuttling yourself and teammate from spawn), but damage boost should be on 90% of the time otherwise, and her buffs + knowing how to play her properly really distance her from being support. She's a mid range damage dealer that can deal damage against multiple enemies at once, secure kills with her secondary, and her damage boost should borderline be perpetually on. She offers almost entirely passive support, and it's the least of your priorities as you're right next to your team at all times playing her since she has zero movement ability, and she has to obviously be next to her team to buff them. Recommend rebinding her "descend" to shift, and I think her "ascend" is already bound to space, which enables you to rise and drop without taking your fingers of your movement. Recommend that for Ironman as well. If you're on console, rebind those to bumpers, as you should minimize to the extreme how often you take your fingers off the analog sticks. A huge advantage with mouse and keyboard is the fact you literally never take your hand off your mouse during gameplay.
This is a pretty common trope in these sort of games. It’s the mind set you should adopt if you want to fully understand each character’s full potential as well as how to compose a team composition without relying on just the synergies.(should especially consider that since the synergies will change over time.) But it is neat. I’m just old. 😂
Tbh, i would probably switch Loki and Adam Warlock on that list, adam warlock have a cooldown-based heal but it heals a ton, and his shift heals overtime, + the ult revives. He doenst have that much utility besides his shots being good against flying characters or wanda ult, and his own capability to revive after his die can provide a good sustain healing for the team. Loki tho, yeah he can heal and even tank some of the ults with his domain, but man, turning invisible, teleporting, shooting the same guy with three different bodies and copying ults sounds a lot more like utility to me
Warlock's utility is his shift which bonds allies so you can't get 1 shot, it is not used for healing. Also his ult is very good utility as it revives ppl like rocket does.
Great video and breakdown. I would adjust Thor to a weird hybrid of Frontline and Diver. Because yes, he can dive, but he also can’t really get away fast like the other Divers. I’ve seen more success when Thor is actually played more like Wolverine with a mix of Strange frontline. His bonus health from his abilities when in cod ant helps sustain him in frontline fights on top of the healing, and he can semi-kidnap or stunlock people with his charge. But his kidnap technically acts as a reverse flank, where you can easily isolate someone (like Wolverine does) and bully them with a chain of melee attacks. So pop in the front, stunlock a guy if you can, and constantly swing and play around corners.
Dives don’t necessarily count as “Assassin”. Some characters dive and just cause chaos like Captain America, but he has terrible attack power so he is mostly just surviving and breaking their positioning. Whereas Psylocke is a literal assassin that is supposed to only single target. Most characters also tend to be a hybrid in Rivals. So it’s useful to know these terms but it’s also important to remember that they don’t always play exactly the same way. Also 3 support is the meta for a reason guy. Personally I like 2 vanguards, 1 duelist. The sustain is too good to pass on and strategists have enough burst damage that you really don’t need more than a single duelist at any given time. Example: V: Thor and Cap S: Loki, Luna, Mantis(or C&D) D: Hela Boom. Now you have two unstoppable killing machines in the front who basically can’t die, and a back line that is self sustain, and dishing out enough DPS to make them question their decisions in life.
I agree wholeheartedly with what youve said here, Ive noticed that most people call each character less and less by their actual role and moreso by what they do in higher elo (Diamond 1-Grandmaster+) Though I do still have a major problem with there being no characters that are objectively Anti-Dive, I think there should be considering theres like 9 Characters that are designed for diving, there should be some form of counterplay that doesnt require you having perfect aim while theyre dashing across your screen, especially when your team doesnt rotate for you in the backline.
There are characters that are anti dive, eg. Peni with her mines and Mister fantastic with his punches, grabs and shields. There is also Namor who has aimbot turrets if you can't aim.
@@wellkekso6471 except when they jump slightly too high then the mines go off and do no damage same with the dashing they trigger them but do no damage oh and a good black panther will literally take like 0 damage from the nest as his dashes are slightly off the ground and are too fast for the spider mines to do much but yeh you do get the occasional ko
I like to see Wanda as an anti flanker/diver who can protect your supports from characters like iron fist and venom so she's really flexible and mr.fantastic to me feels more like an off tank/mid range, it's really hard to play him as a your only tank so paring him up with another tank and playing around them using distended grip to pull enemy vanguards and duelist into a bad position to kill them off, at least that's how I like to play him
To me Reed its a NICE DIVER, becouse 2 strechs in your team you give shield, you use Susan Shield and DIVE in the enemy line, Lika a TNT BALLOM! Use the FANTASTIC ult, to release chaos or stomp the enemy team if they are in low roof sector.
I would say this is great, with the only exception being your explanation for what flankers are. Flankers are a bit more complicated than just “attack the enemy frontline”.
I feel like its important to understand that most characters have to roles instead of one like magik isnt just a diver she is also a frontliner and strange isnt just a frontliner hes a diver aswell
YES, I've been thinking this forever. I'm not particularly great at heroes like Strange or Magneto - Vanguards with proper shields - because the low mobility and careful planning doesn't mesh well with my way of thinking. Cap & Hulk are a lot easier for me & Cap is the better of the two if we're looking for shields, but he's still ultimately a diver when used to his full potential. On the other hand, Mr. Fantastic & Invisible Woman may not be *Vanguards* , but they have quick enough cool down for shields & some great space controlling skills, so I may opt for them if we have only 1 diver Vanguard and/or 1-3 Strategists (3 Strategists meaning I'd definitely go for Reed since the extra DPS is likely more useful & I'm probably going to be able to care for those supports a lot better with the E latch-on-quickly-to-shield-you skill) This is coming from a Cloak & Dagger main though, lol, my favorite roles will *always* be the ones that allow for adaptability, zone control, self sustain options, & specifically enabling/disabling skills like high healing output or Cloak's terror cape skill - which is soooooo satisfying in team fights. Doesn't have to be exactly that kind of skill, but buff/debuff utility is always super nice
Jeff hits hard enough and is so slippery (pun intended) and hard to kill, unless there's a melee hero, Iron Man, or Moon Knight hard targeting you, that I sometimes joke that i'm an extra Vanguard and dive-duelist as well as a healer when I play with peeps.
Adam warlock shud be a separate category, he has hitscan(left click) and burst projectile (right click). He can have damage taken stat high (shift) and heals (E) but his gameplay is mostly focussed on dealing damage while healing alliez when they are dowm than 60%. He has everything a character has. Perfectly tailored hero. Just likw the lore.
1:51 No bro, well at least not for venom, he is easy asf. I can make a pro guide for him in just 4 steps Step 1. Swing to the enemy backline and f up the supports (aim for the head) Step 2. Once you are 50 hp shield yourself and swing back to your teams backline to get healed Step 4. Repeat Its easy see (Btw amazing video mr president, new sub)
I don't agree with the placement of Peni. She's more of a mid-field character that can be offensive and defensive. Since she's capable of self-sustain, Peni can take the role of a flanker and place herself in off-angles that require the attention of at least 2 characters in the opposite team - basically a vanguard 😂
hey bro, is it possible to get like a full look at the different role list? you kinda show it at 0:47 but it's a little cut off was there a website you used to make it or something?
True, there are a lot of different clasifications for characters. I just mentioned a few that I thought where most important. What heroes do you think are counter-dive/flank?
Cap is an annoying diver. I dont agree with call Magic or Hulk divers. Hulk in particular should definitely dive someone out of position but hes not gonna survive 3v1. I prefer calling him a roaming point-tank, make space, output damage, absorb damage but stay where your healers can see you
@@mythraze I mean, there are characters that are really good at clearing (or avoiding) paths to the objectives, while there are others that can defend a post almost alone, and some that can snatch a taken target better than the rest. Does a team really need 5 DPS's? Not many healers can focus on 5 characters at once who also try to dive, disperse or outright be taken out. Remember, this is not COD it's a TEAM Shooter. The 5 of you will have to deal with 2 tanks and 2 healers and their duelists are free to swoop in and take out your backline. Many DPS players forget they have to protect their healer 🤷♂️
