Hey, little tip for the 3rd topic: If you want to one trick a character, there’s no better guaranteed losing main than the AMAZING spider man. Trust me, it works every single time! Also, do not ever forget that the more duelists the better. Playing dps is like a mom’s heart: there’s always room to another one!
In the spirit of actually trying to avoid being the person in this video, I did some self reflection. To be honest? Yeah, I COULD have done better. I swapped to a character the Moon Knight yelled at me for picking less, even though there was less than a minute before the match ended and I could have no impact. Instead I should have picked them sooner. I picked that character because playing my role as a dive tank was unfeasible due to their vanguard being anti-dive. However, our team definitely needed to be more aggressive and push. This couldn't happen with them taking constant damage just from being in the area. Had I picked the character he hated so much, I might have been able to counteract the enemy and won the match for us. Much like I did the previous round where I bullied the enemy team back-line so hard that they couldn't hold the objective for any longer than a minute at a time. Truly, it's a shame that the moon knight hadn't yelled at me for staying as captain America before we lost instead. I might have been able to change sooner and kill people actually preventing us from winning instead of just dying trying to make an opening for my team by harassing the enemy strategists and both vanguards.

"Its right there in the center of the A hole" this is absolute cinema. What a beautifully written guide, i'll carry this with me fondly on my descent back down to bronze 3 😂❤
It's crazy how many pros in this game always default to #1, literally every time they die they cant just move on and instead it's always "omg, I died because my team is bad, it's always my teams fault".
Idk if you can send links in Marvel Rivals but I can imagine the: "Hey, you're really good at what you do. This video will help you improve on that!" *Link to this video*
This reminds me of a CGP Grey (I think) video called "7 Ways to Maximize Misery." I'm not sure if this type of ironic style better conveys the message, but it seems effective.
Tonight I had a dagger in Plat I heal only 1k hp for two rounds and only got 10 kills. They were DPSing with Cloak the whole match while I solo healed as rocket but we still lost.
I went 27-4, 14k damage with iver 50k damage blocked with Captain America one day; team won yet still had two team members tell me how bad I am. I've learned the only guarantee with multi-player games, is that it doesn't matter how good or bad you do, there will always be angry buttheads that will bad mouth you. Seems to just be the normal now...
Here are some more tips I learned from experience and would like to share, to make it more complete: 1. You can always rely on Quick Play to confirm how good you actually are in this game. There are totally no bot matches that lose on purpose to keep you engaged and addicted to the game 2. Play Spider Man in ranked and NEVER switch no matter what. It is their fault you have 2/19 not your lack of skills or understanding when to use the hero 3. Win or lose , never forget to remind the rest of the team to stay bronze or silver because that is the level they UNLIKE YOU deserve to be in 4. If you lose 3 times in a row do not stop until you get a victory. After all those other 7 loses were totally their fault and that one victory where you got 3/13/2 and everyone else around 24/7/1 for dps and 10/7/30 support ... yeah you totally carried the game 5. If someone else wants to play Spider Man ignore him/her. He is only for you. However if someone else takes Spidey and locked him at character select. Do not leave the spawn point 6. If you want to try something else play Jeff and remember when ulting go over the map with the enemy as we as your teammates 7. Always ignore objectives and aim for more kills. Killing is all that matters. Getting that MVP as Spider Man is all that matters. If the support gets the MVP because had less kills but also less deaths and a number of assists the vent it in the next game 8. When you and your team get stomped so hard you cannot leave the spawning room just ignore everyone and everything... and keep doing what you do. At the end of the match just remember to report all for throwing the game and enemies for using aimbot cheats
@@Shrooms-gud4ya You can’t be taking both sides of the issue on EOMM. Either quick match is fine because the matchmaking algorithm isn’t designed to make you less accountable for the result of games, OR it’s perfectly fine to blame teammates for losses in ranked because the majority of your games are determined by the quality of teammates you’re given by the EOMM algorithm.
This is a great guide, I agree with everything except for the positioning part, it's usually very situational. Positioning is map, character, and comp dependant. For example, sometimes going on a quick off angle on mantis to sleep and 2 tap a support can win fights. Sometimes playing Frontline with your tank with a character like magik can help your tanks win space with pressure, etc. For lower ranks though those are very good guidelines, but don't be afraid to try different things as long as your team is on the same page, and you learn from them if things go wrong.
Love this video! I wasn't sure how I could lose more matches, but this guide has made it so easy! I knew I shouldn't be trying to have fun while playing a video game, and my team always loses because of everyone and everyone except myself!!🤣🤣🤣
I love this game and last season I had a great time climbing it without any issue either since I have alot of experience in the genre, this season now that all the ranks got mashed together gold feels very in trapping and majority of my high level friends have been having the same issues, so at this point we've all kinda fallen into this mind set. This video has actually been quite helpful and ill likely stop losing games once I stop doing (some) of these things
Yeah, it can be frustrating. I almost got to Diamond last season but now I am stuck in Gold. After practicing and getting better I do think I will be able to get to Platinum tomorrow, but that took a very long time
The irony is that #8 still seems like a contradiction to me whenever I used to talk to friends. I would celebrate small victories, but not try to boast, and yet I’d be called arrogant (yet I had a friend who’d go nuts and try to show me up [openly]). I’d try to practice and improve, and then get told I’m too competitive. I feel like it’s just a different mindset that some people happen to have. It’s almost cult-like thought sometimes.
@ Ffffffffffffunny… in all seriousness though, we’re talking about me getting an MVP with like 1 or 2 kills over the second best, and him claiming to carry the whole team multiple times (with MVP). I mean, this happened in another game, but I wanted to make it hypothetical with this one.
@ Just disregard them, you know you did good and that's what counts. If they offered actually helpful criticism without trying to know you down, that'd be a whole other thing, and although you did good, that doesn't mean that there is no space to improve still. Also, stats are good and all, but they are not what wins the game. Teamplay is probably the most important one. I've lost many games where we had more kills, and did more damage then the enemy, and also won games with pathetic stats, not chasing kills, not overextending, just doing my job.
unironically, i’ve engrained the self hatred section and i’m on my collegiate team and i’ve hit high masters for a while in OW, and GM in MR, but it’s really hard to break the habit. thank you for being the push to help fix my mental 🙏

2:36 i remember a venom who was 3-8 or something and i told him "dude switch" And he said "I only tank" Then i told him "then switch to a tank you actually know how to play" He never switched and we lose :3
Was this video inspired by the CPG Grey essay on how to be miserable? It feels like the same vibes. If it is, then that is a great example of creativity using a template! Also good taste!
Kinda called out for the one trick thing. Started this weekend and went through bronze to plat playing just Winter Soldier. I played Starlord and Hella a decent amount in qp but was never as successful as with Bucky so I'm not confident I'd keep my rank playing anyone else.
I would recommend being at least competent for one character in each role. Even better is if you can be good at multiple characters with different play styles in that role. For example, I am a Lord Peni but am learning Strange so I can play a shield tank
Update. Still playing Bucky in diamond. Seem to have equalised around the boundary between diamond 1 and 2. Keep ranking up and down. Starlord has clicked though I think. Was forced to play him because of another Bucky main and I won that game with MVP. Been using him to warm up in qp. Might be ready to use him as a normal pick

@ I actually just had a match like that. Our stats were decent, but the other team pushed past over time.
THANK YOU SO MUCH. been looking for a guide like this for a while
Absolute peam, already losing even more, didn't think it was possible, thank you 😭
Sticking to one character is good. Especially compared to the alternative, which is to flip flop 20 characters every game
My teammates when it is my rank-up game:
Thank you, I will get to work on this as soon as possible
2:13 already do this IRL
well this is video was based on a video in the description that talks about how you can be miserable in 7 steps so you're already on the pathway
1:30 "The A-hole" im done😭
Been looking for this all my life, thank you!
I just love that you're playing punisher nearly the whole time😂
Unironically great advice I can incorporate into deranking my smurf, thank you
unironically, i’ve engrained the self hatred section and i’m on my collegiate team and i’ve hit high masters for a while in OW, and GM in MR, but it’s really hard to break the habit. thank you for being the push to help fix my mental 🙏
You gotta go Spider-man or Black Widow for the throw pick. You might mess up and actually carry as Psylocke
You mean pick Jeff and never heal, just farm for those ults
I... Might need to change my mental haha, this video is such a reality check X).
I was struggling to get to diamond, and the part of "compare yourself to better players, and start to self doubt but only after the cycle of aelf hatred starts" hits hard LOL
Thank you for this video, it has proven very helpful in my reverse climbing journey
Thanks for this guide. Im so tired of winning and having fun. Maybe I’ll start playing as Spiderman and yelling at my healers.
2:36 i remember a venom who was 3-8 or something and i told him "dude switch"
And he said "I only tank"
Then i told him "then switch to a tank you actually know how to play"
He never switched and we lose :3
Thought Tony Statovci and RDC were doing a collab video for a sec there
"The i in 'team' is in the center of the a-hole" is crazy genious
Thanks for the guide. I can now be the Amazing Spider-mid 110% more efficiently
Thanks, with this guide I've finally been able to reach Tin 3. Going for the elusive Copper 3 next
Why do I feel like a large portion of players seem to follow this Guide very closely.
@@joltik2 Practicing #1 already, good start
You coming for me with the last 2 😂😂
Goal #9… send this video to my teammates any time we lose
Immaculate guide right here. Pure, quality content.
I'm pretty sure watching this video is a prerequisite for being on my team
Was this video inspired by the CPG Grey essay on how to be miserable? It feels like the same vibes. If it is, then that is a great example of creativity using a template! Also good taste!
Kinda called out for the one trick thing. Started this weekend and went through bronze to plat playing just Winter Soldier. I played Starlord and Hella a decent amount in qp but was never as successful as with Bucky so I'm not confident I'd keep my rank playing anyone else.
@saaaaaaaaalt838 it'll only be a problem once you reach diamond had to bump up my hero pool after being a loki onetrick for so long
I would recommend being at least competent for one character in each role.
The tactical throw guide is specifically diabolical 😂
this guide screams "i want to teach people to break out of these vicious pitfalls that everyone experiences on their way to true video game literacy BUT i also hate some of these snot nosed brats who are so firmly cemented in some of these pitfalls that i cant bring myself to just straight up make the video in an educational format but it still needs to be said and who knows maybe itll help some of these basement dwellers"
honestly. i feel you. i feel seen.
thank you
Thank god ice been looking for this guide for so long
there’s a spiderman main out there upset he didn’t make this video first
thanks i can only manage a 30% winrate in bronze iii on marvel rivals! dont forget to plug in the controller slow walk and play strategist flank invisible loki or spiderman and if you go negative say spiderman doesnt kill
Now THIS is the premium content that I come to RUclips for!
Thx to this guide I went from bronze 3 to cardboard 5 I highly recommend you share this with your friends and family
at least one of my teammates seem to have studied this video by heart, they mastered the blaming point as they are able to blame everyone just as match is starting, I'm astonished by their level of mastery
I have one more tip.
Always focus Tanks. Especially when their healers are right behind them, healing the tank you are focusing.
