*Sow a thought, and you reap an act;* *Sow an act, and you reap a habit;* *Sow a habit, and you reap a character;* *Sow a character, and you reap a destiny*
It's good advice to put in the effort, but some companies try to maintain information assymetry and even try to pass laws that prevent negative information from getting out. And of course who do you trust? Companies are free to put out positive stories about themselves under the guise of the free press. It's incredibly difficult to find trustworthy sources of information.
In my opinion, this is one of the most valuable, and valued sources of interpersonal, as well as professional sources of information available to the layman in existence on 'the web'.
I believe to be for the laymen as well, but definitely can be overwhelming at first, would be Farnam Street Blog. That is hands down the best resource I’ve come across. It’s complete enough to give you a vast mental latticework to help guide you make the best decisions you possibly can in life. Lots of material from Warren Buffett, but even more from his longtime friend and business partner, Charlie Munger.
What is interesting is how much people avoid putting in the effort to make good decisions. As tired as we all are of politics, one cannot avoid the conclusion that voters don't always put the effort in to make good decisions at the ballot box. So Ackoff's discovery has implications for all aspects of our lives. Despite access to information being virtually free, modern life conspires against devoting time and effort to increasing our circle of competence in any area. People don't choose to see themselves as being limited in anyway to make decisions, but sadly, the consequences tell a different story. Why? On the one hand, trust in expertise has fallen because there are no neutral sources. We are bombarded with news reports, press releases, and reports that are following their own agenda. Who can we trust? All the sources of information seem to be either compromised because of their funding, or their affiliation, so what is the ordinary person to do? Fear (or emotion) can then tend to trump facts. Indeed "shooting the messenger" can often be the consequence even when the message is objectively true but emotion holds sway in the audience. Like all constructive and positive messages this video is sowing its seed - some will fall on fertile ground. Some will fall on barren ground, and others be eaten by the birds. I hope there is an abundance of fertile minds willing to make the effort to make better decisions, because we will all benefit from that.
👍🏼Agreed. Trust only in the Holy Bible and teachings of the spiritually-mature God's servants. Ponder on those words to make better decisions in your life.
for the most part wouldn't reading about types of turtles in a paper book that cant change be a more stable of a information source? you don't need to know what camera if you know the picture is a fake.
Buffet is old school. The information is dated in this video. With quantum computers and advanced AI systems you wouldn't need to probe or research it. The AI would do it for you. Ask it "what are the best current companies to invest in?" If the AI tech is good it'll search profit and company treads and project possible futures off it. Without you

Whatever decisions you decide to make, go in it head on. If you fail, then you learn, if you succeed, that it's all upside.
Aye, and learning to "fail successfully" is, in my opinion, the most unstudied and misunderstood learning devices in existence! 😎
Writing down decisions and writing ✍️ the pros and cons is what helped me make important decisions in my life 🔥
A good desicion now can make a giant change in the future! If you're reading this you made a good desicion 💪
This channel is really underappreciated!
Being exposed to different perspectives can help you make better decisions

*To make better choices, think before you act! Most bad choices that we do are done on impulse! :)*
*All that you are seeking is also seeking you. ÷*
This will help me make the better decision in life. I will apply this as much as I can. Thank you for this video, AoI

''Concision in style, precision in thought, decision in life
.''
Amazing. It's all pretty simple stuff everyone knows, but it helps having it clearly spelt out with no fat.
Thanks. As Dave Trott says, "Simple is Smart. Complicated is Stupid."

Lol. AI isn't there yet. You can ask, but the answer may not be accurate.
"know what you know""know what you don't know"
This is the major issue of today in my opinion.
