Thanks mate, this method worked perfectly for me. Engine sounds smooth as.
Obrigado abraços do Brasil, ninguém por. Aqui teve essa boa vontade de ensinar esse passo a passo.
Thank you. Best video. .
not all heros wear capes! legend
Well done!!
At the end where your painted line lines up with the two dots above, why is there a factory dot on the gear that’s two teeth away from your painted line? And is that where it should have been set from factory? Thanks
@YD25 what's the answer to this question please
These engines are stupidly easy to time and I'd have thought you time by the dots as well.
@@paulsimpson2232 It's not lined up properly...Have to keep rotating until it does..then there are 2 gears on the back of the balance shaft with the sump off that have timing marks that should also line up if done correctly...This video is incorrect
have a think about what hes doing... you can do it like this...or pull the balance shaft assembly off...with the engine out to line the balance shaft gear mark to the balance shaft idler dots.@@mompatimase167
Sooooo what is the deal with the dot 'supposed' to be between the 2 dots on the crank cog? I have had to cajole one back to time before without removing the sump - its tricky but not impossible.
Is this the 2012 Nissan Navara D40 St-X Spanish built?.
thanks ..very helpfull
Do you have to rotate the small gear to a certain point before you mark the first tooth or it doesn't matter as long as it matches the factory mark on the gear?
Doesn't matter
Great video, what is the purpose of the scissor gear?
It puts tension on the gears to stop gear roll over noise
@@yd2532 Thanks!
Helo. Could you please share where I can get the special pin used to lock the gear
We make them. You can use an Allen key instead.
Ok.
Thank you for your repply. The engine is still in the vehicle. With allen key its difficult to get it correct with the balance gear. If you can share dimensions of the pin please. Or if I can buy one from you. I am in East africa, Tanzania
@@ngasilingowe8375 freight would be too expensive from Australia. Send me an email and I’ll get a measurement when I’m in the office.
Hi There,
Potentially dumb question but why is it 10 teeth?
Just a trick Dad worked out been doing this way for years. To retime it Nissans way they make you drop the sump so it's a big job
Do you have a video on balance shaft delete at all please
Just got to blank the oil feed in the block with a screw then you can remove it
@@yd2532 OK thabks
