I still have two Cabrinha Nitro kites (2004) with original control bars in perfect conditions. Good to relaunch and fly!
First kite was a 2001 ARX 15.5m (bought second hand in 2003). Thanks man... really took me back to line tangles, butt drags and tea bags:-)
Honestly... The fact that this thing still flies and doesn't fall apart is impressive. The lifetime of a new kite is way worse... Total ripoff, that a 1300 euro kite lasts only a few years.
Snake-skin system😂 This is comedy Gold!
I still have my Naish Aero2 from 2002 in great shape. That bar looks the same as mine but looks to have been modified. Mine has 2 loops. One fixed like a windsurfers and one “depower” chicken loop. That explains why it was called “chicken loop”. You had one fixed regular loop and one for chickens that took power out of it. Of course the was no significant de power by pushing the bar out. Maybe 20% depower at the most. The wrist safety line was supposed to attach 25’ far up the line. That way when you released the bar it would let the kite flag. In reality where the safety line attached it would slide down under pressure rendering the system inoperative. That led to many times where the kite would just drag you across the bay, nothing you could do short of releasing kite at your wristband and kissing your $1800 kite goodbye. Many people almost drowned because of this. My brother said it tried to kill him as he got tea bagged 20’ high halfway across the bay, before completely releasing the kite. 😂
I bring the kite out occasionally for people to try but with a modern bar. Few are able to water relaunch it 😂.
Hi Daversj, thanks for the anecdote. Hard work, good times! The almost wrong stories are the most legend ones. \"/
Naish ARX 11,5 2001, my first tubekite after learning kitesurfing with the "legendary Flexifoil Blade kitesurf setup" you should try that one ... 😂
It makes me wonder if I should take the ARX out for a ride any time soon...
K48 RIP Chris Calthrop
My first kite- Naish ARX 11,5m, about 2001 :)
Thanks so much for comparisons like that and also I love cheerfulness in all what you doing! 🤙
Love your videos guys. You should try the 2001 kite with a modern bar. To compare kite to kite instead of era to era. You should also try it with more wind. I think that would be a much closer situation. With the old bar the comparison is ridiculous. There's no comparison. Great video, like all your content. Keep it up.
Thanks for the Feedback. Work in progress \"/
There is no difference between a modern bar and an old bar. It's the exact same. Adding deposed lenght would not make the kite deposed more
Jip, still have a 12 ARX and 8 Aero, both still flying well, but valves have come loose, so they need a little TLC
Not true at all that these kites had "no" depower. The new 4 line kites like the Naish ARX (I had an AR5 & a couple of Wipika Airblasts) had a ton of depower ... compared to the 2 line kites the proceeded them! I still remember the first time I tried an Airblast - it was a game-changer because of the ability to reduce the power in the kite by sheeting out.
you are right, I flew recently a 2 lines Wipika Classic 8,5...
I have that exact same kite....a 14 meter.
I fly it like a "kiddies toy kite" strapped to anchor of sorts....a tree, a car, boulder......that sort of thing.
In the right conditions I'm sure mine would make a fine paraglider for 5 people.
My bar looks the same as yours, but has taken a lot more sun....the kite itself is a bit stained in places, but no snake skin shedding happening. 3 of the valves have come off the vinil bladder after the glue gave up and retired.
I just scared myself with it today.....1st time in 3 years...it was much fun, but now it can sleep again for some years.
Hahaha, i looked at the surroundings and was... WAIT.. thats one of my local spots.
If i'm not mistaken that bar had a seperate donkeystick which was attached on your harnas. I used to have one maybe still have it on my old harness.
19years of kite designing makes the sport Way To accessible for everyone!
I have the same kite it's a real classic of Naish Legacy. in perfect condition. I hardly use it as im In Western Australia and most of the times the wind is blowing 25 knots. served me well. I believe old kites quality wise are better than new ones.
Really big upgrate! Nice work from Naish
I'm missing the little blue hand-pump that was delivered with this kite... so it seemed like you had been practising all night...
Entertaining as always! Thanks guys!
I'm wondering what shoulder brace you are using? I have shoulder instability and am concerned about kiteboarding because i'm scared i can have a dislocation in the ocean...is it working for you?
Can you guys do review for north rhino 2006 . That will be fun kite
WHAT A VIDEO😝😝🤣🤣😜😜 I was laughing so much😂😂😂 it reminded me about my Wipika kite from 2008... wtf🙈🙈🙈 You two are the best👍👍👍👍

Great review...I have RRD Type six 15m2 from similar age...never menage to use it...just did some "stunts" with it...great to see how it looks/act in air...it looks deflated a bit?

KiteFinder.com Sounds great! Thanks
KiteFinder.com We’re longing waiting for it hehe!
Its aaaa so they aaaa did aaa with aaaa this is good because aaaaa in 2020 the struts are aaaa ........ so hard to follow..
Geweldig. Gelukkig ben ik begonnen met de 'super' Naish X2. Niet te relaunchen dat ding en butt slam rem techniek. Mijn 18m (setje 10-14-18m) had een windbereik van 4 knopen :-)
Butt Slamm! Ouderwets remmen :)
I just bought a North Toro2, this was my first kite.
Always good that old kite feeling :)
Franz is a with a Z not S...
Kite Inside Laurent Ness Thanks
Is there a way to extend the depower line on the 2001 naish bar?
Is blaauwe stad een mooi spot ??
met Z en ZO wel
For sale my Wipika 5.0 and Naish 9M Ar5 fly well extra crispy ;) Naish 100CM bar not included
Still miss the Sigma shapes
Are you sure about that :)
@@Kitefinder Ja joh!
Would you recommend a Boxer kite (2019 model) for a new twin tip kiter? Thanks
Hi Dave search and choose 2 kites you like. Than try before buy
Vintage kite gentleman! 🎩 Lol
The 2000-01 Naismith bar had a plastic depower strap buckle that would sometimes break, causing the kite to go to extreme maximum power... what a horrible and dangerous design. Almost killed me more than one.....
Ja moooi! Volgende video kiteloops aan de ARX?
We hebben nog wel een 2 line Wipika Classic voor je :)
@@Kitefinder dat moeten we dan maar eens uitproberen 😉
Can you do a TT splitboard review when Shinn and Flysurfer release their new boards to compare with Nobile and kitelement. Please. It would be “kiplekker”
TTsplitboard. with all respect. Are people use spilt boards?
KiteFinder.com on the basis, Nobile, Shinn, Flysurfer and Kitelement make them so it’s a yes. To what degree, you decide. It’s a suggestion for a future video. 😘😍🙏👍
@@normsbigwindow9379 That for sure, thanks for the suggestion. Always good to have an new insights
Hi there, why are you always test kite gear in a low end or moderate range wind, if it was 10 m/s I'm absolutely sure you wouldn't make any jokes about airX and would be shocked with this C monster the video would be filled with action screams etc. And in the aftermath with a glass of beer you would be choked with saliva telling your friends how ferocious this kite was! 😉
That's for sure! This kite is a pulling monster. Zipping beer from a straw :)
where is this spot?
Blue City :) Netherlands! Check the link below the clip
My first kite was a 2003 RRD 16m. That thing almost pulled me off the beach and onto the highway my very first time out. No depower, no safety is right. lol
What spot is this?
Blauwestad,I will add the the spot to the video
Nice video! Old kite are still "the better kites for learning" 😂
Not really. Just joking!
jullie zijn te gek!! :D
looks like 1-2 knots of wind...
Bar is van 2002/3!

Video gemaakt voor een hart onder de riem voor onze zuiderburen.
Maybe put it side by side with a Torch, a likewise C kite instead of a Delta. :)
