Choc, just to let you know, after you beat the final special stage, there's a Final Final special stage that only unlocks after you get every purple coin, wonder seed, and flag pole top.

Mario Wonder is such a treat. The last time Mario had a truly new game was 2017, which is sad since Mario is such a core part of me. But this was worth the wait. If this is the standard for Mario games now, the next couple of years are going to be great :)
I loved mario wonder too, but for me 2d mario games are hard to compare since the movement in smo was just something else. Not that I dislike the 2d games but wonder is my second best mario game
I just realised my comment is the definition of tl;dr XD
I feel like because they hyped up the huge wonder the whole game, that boss should have happened then at the end bowser steals all the royal seeds and turns into THE WHOLE MAP. Then you have to do a like 15-20 minute section where it uses all the badges or it’s just some huge journey through world-themed sections to bowser’s very core where you can finally take the cork or button holding the royal seeds captive off and it destroys bowser and makes the normal ending.
Fun fact: There's special dialogue not only if you face Bowser as Peach, but also if you face Bowser with a certain expert badge
I like how when bowser gets big and a little goopy Bowser Jr begs Mario for help yet when he does drugs and turns himself into a castle it’s cool as hell and he fully supports it
Congrats on the completion! This game is fun! Nintendo finally got out of their comfort zone and delivered a more experimental and wild Mario adventure that felt like a throwback to the 8 and 16 bit days!
Though, I know Nintendo is trying to cater to all skill levels, I just wish the base game had a bit more challenge. I liked that some of the Special World levels actually required a bit more effort to complete. I would definitely be down for Nintendo to release additional DLC for new levels, badges and maybe some new non-Bowser Jr bosses!

Also this game was so much fun I couldn't stop smiling; the future of 2D Mario games is looking WONDERFUL

Honestly, the final boss fight was fun and awesome. It was really awesome and really great. It definitely was one of the best boss fights ever and I did it first try.

If by final stage you mean the secret final level, it is a nightmare. I wasted like 60 lives on it, still haven’t finished it, and with every failed attempt I have resist the urge to throw my controller to the floor.
I feel you. I wasted about almost 30 lives completing it. The part I struggled on was the final part with the invisibility badge.

I normally don’t care much for 2D Marios, but I do love this game and am working on 100%-ing it (I just completed the Wonder Seed quest). I appreciate Choc and his playthroughs with his charming commentary!
I must say though, does anyone else find it unnerving that the Flower Kingdom with its existential flowers is ruled by a caterpillar? Feels a bit dark for Mario… lol

Main reason: it's a game made for children
It's fitting that Choc would be drawn to Red Deck Wins in Magic. He's a Sonic fan and Red also tends to be fast, kinda jank and rarely living up to its potential.
I like Bowser jr. and the Koopalings I wish we got more of them together like in the Bowser's Inside Story remake

I like this game because it never felt repetitive. With other mario games you get bored because it’s just the same. But in wonder each and every stage was different through its use of wonder effects, enemies, and stage variety

I only just thought of this, but Super Mario Wonder feels like the Disney rendition of a Mario game. From the aesthetics to the tonal portion of dialogue. Even the song stages reinforce the theme of movie musicals.
Make sure you get the top of the flagpole when you do the last level. I missed it and I'm suffering

I heavily disagree. This game DEFINITELY feels incomplete with it's lack of varying bosses. Not only do we get very few battles because of the developers being too INCONSIDERATE to have worlds 3 and 5 end with a boss, but also because it's mostly just Bowser Jr over and over again! We could've had a race against Master Poplin inside a trap-filled dojo for the 3rd Royal Seed where he displays his skills as a so-called "master", but we don't. Kamek could've had an actual role in this game by enhancing his magic with Wonder Power to enlarge and transform common enemies into some cool-looking bosses, but we get none of that either! I'm not asking for very challenging battles, but having a varied roster of boss characters in a game and being consistent enough to end every world with a boss fight is common courtesy that many of us expected from the dev team. For them to totally neglect that area of the game is a very jarring disappointment. This game NEEDS DLC to fix this!

I 100% completed it in 4 days.
But that's just how I play new games. Not rushing at all, but playing like 4-5 hours per day until I finish it.
I actually like it when people take their time to complete games and not skip through the dialogue.
Learning how to play spelunky amd suffering is one of the most fun apsects of it. Once youve done that, the next best thing is watching a friend suffer while learning how to play

I know they say the flower coins give them energy, but its always funny seeing a poplin at an impass and expecting a "Oh No, there's something in the way of our path, and uou can't put a stop to the *_Actual National Crisis._* If only I had *_50 Dollars Cash_* to help me do my job.

This game didn't do enough different for me to like it.
What I mean is, you still have themed worlds with a bunch of levels.
Each with a few collectables, and off course new power-ups.
None of the unique power-ups return, again. (Catbell, Penguin suit, Squirrel suit or Propeller hat to name a few)
You still have one-and-done level gimmicks, which proves once again the quantity over quality philosophy.
Despite the fresh new look it's still the same game, with the same problems.
I see right through the charade that is "Wonder", and see no joy at it's core.
Many people seem to enjoy the game (more power to you), however.. I suspect it'll quickly fade into obscurity.
Mostly due to the "rose-tinted glasses" people see this game through, it's new and looks different.
But it's just a coat of paint.
Maybe I've just been mario'd out, and ended up with unrealistic standards.
This is just not the game for me.

I've beaten most of the game as Peach. There are some levels I did as Daisy, just to give her a chance in the spotlight, and then there's that one break time level in World 6 where the Elephant Fruit is the only "power-up" I have to use, so I used Toad in it. That was the only time I used Toad!😂

Spelunky is a really fun game to play with friends. So you should play it on sidequest.
Upon watching this video I realize that it is the talking flowers’ right to wonder what stuff tastes like, they don’t look like they can move of their own volition and they probably don’t have tastebuds anyway. So I feel like that curiosity is completely okay.
I would love the spelunky its a bit hard to really Discover what to do but its great

W1: break the blocks on the 4 star level with the elephant
W2 & W6: just play through the levels
W3: enter to the royal seed again
W4:
W5: enter the mines to save the popplins again
Btw the final level is not shown to you unless you have all the seeds, big flower coins and top of the flag poles

Playing Mario Wonder didn't change my mind about Tears of the Kingdom essentially being a lock to win game of the year, but the game did feel like it could've been a solid Nintendo contender any other year.

I love that Bowser has the power of Dad rock. While I understand people upset at the nomination for goty I feel like this game was more thought out and well put together than most of the nominees like say TOTK that also came from Nintendo. It’s simple sure, but it’s obviously well made with lasting power which I’m not sure will be said about others.

What was with those places in the lava area where you were just given a seed with no challenge? The observatories or something. Did they have those in the other areas? Seems kind of lazy. Did they not have enough time to make levels for those seeds? And those last stages in a few areas that didn't give you a boss fight?

Spelunky 2 is one of my favorite games of all time, while spelunky HD and classic are still always enjoyable to play the controls just don’t run as smooth. It might be good content to try once!!
