Some extra tips. While you're out working look for free supplies. It's summer and a lot of people are throwing out old coolers that are perfectly usable. Probably just have a broken handle or wheel, but as long as the inner lining is intact, you have a hot/cold box to keep the food at the ideal temperature. I actually have silicone heating pads in one cooler and ice packs in another. Most customers won't see the steps you're taking for their order, but the ones that do will rate you high and I've got $20+ add on from people who recognized the effort. This is especially so with 'meet at door' orders and large catering orders.
I’ve watched a number of DD videos since becoming a Dasher two weeks ago. This video is the best made, and most well thought out of them all. You do all the right things. You give clear and concise info, structure it in a logical manner, and you don’t ramble. I liked and subscribed immediately. Thank you!
WOW........I just recently jumped back into dashing and have been watching A LOT of videos. Your video has been the best hands down. Completely different advice then others. Thanks for the resources too!! Stay safe sir!
I’m doing door dash but I’m leaving money on my dasher direct card until I hit 1k and puting it towards credit cards I plan on doing that for 3-4 months I see it as saving to pay debt I’ve made 600 so far in 2 weeks with 27 active and like 33 dash time I also have a full time job where I make 600 a week
Need to subtract the cost of gas for those 5 hours and also factor in the number of miles driven as wear n tear costs on the car ( average cost of wear n tear per mile is 25 cents per mile)
You don’t get to Dash whenever you want when you first start. Only if you schedule or if DD gets busy & they open it up….then it’s only 30-60 minutes Max then they close your Dash once they use you. Also, it took 6 months to get my insulated bags……then I got bags 2 weeks later. DD offers crappy orders like $2.50 for 5 miles. I’m losing money on that order……& if you don’t take those crappy orders, your Acceptance Rate drops which means you get more crappy orders.
Let’s be really honest about what drivers in many major markets are making - I’ve averaged $25 PM shifts for several wks now. And I’m not a new driver. Fortunately I don’t depend on the income. With $2-$2.75 average payouts and tips that don’t cover gas it’s impossible to mae money. After all the deductions we make much less than minimum wage.
That’s a lie maybe you’re not performing correctly or you’re being late because I’ve been getting high payouts and I just started literally I made like $170 and a couple hours of work
Correct me if I'm wrong, but You say 'per active hour", but you're still "working" those 8. If you grossed (not including gas, etc) 115.5, then your hourly is 14.44. throw in $20 of gas and your now at 11.94hr
Im a beginner in charlotte area. I been a butcher for 10 years, got DVT in both my arms, and had to get massive life saving surgeries. Hoping I can burn some of this medical debt dashing. Thanks for the content 🙏
Using active time instead of dash time is incredibly misleading since you can't do anything else that requires any form of time dedication. Since you made 115.50 in 8.1 hours the actual hourly rate from the time you dedicated to dashing was 14.26 per hour, and this is before expenses like fuel or electricity for a car, insurance, maintenance, and depreciation. Since that will chew up somewhere between 20-30% of your income then the actual take home hourly rate is more like 10-11.50 an hour.
Sounds like you aren't recording your mileage. The federal government gives you 65.5 cents per mile. That covers a massive portion of your gas and depreciation. I write off 20k a year from my taxes which saves me about 5k in taxes per year. I have a hybrid so I basically don't lose any of my wages to gas or maintenance because it's an older car that I'm driving into the dirt.
@@jameskeenan1633 What would make you think I don't track miles? Writing things off doesn't make you not pay it, it just saves the income tax paid on that amount. If you are grossing 20 bucks an hour for 40 hours a week on average all year round you end up grossing 41600. If you made 2 bucks a mile that's 20800 miles, at 62 cents or a 12896 deduction. If you live somewhere like Florida that would bring you tax bill down from 6400 to about 3850, or saving you 2550 bucks. These miles likely cost you at least 30 cents a mile, or about 6240 for the year. So the deduction helps keep your overall cost lower, especially since for commercial vehicles a Dasher mobile will be incredibly cheap to run, it doesn't make the expense just disappear.
Let me break down what you are really making per hour first off you worked for 8 hrs. active or not you are out there spending your free time Door Dashing. So the 114/8 is 14.25 per hr, but thats not really what you are making because you need to factor in what you expense for gas and vehicle depreciation. He drove 167 miles so at an average of 3.50 per gallon of gas and assuming he gets around 30 mpg he at least used 5 gallons, so 17.50 went to gas, then factor in .15cents per mile of vehicle depreciation thats another 25 dollars which should be saved to buy another vehicle. In the end you would be making right around 9 dollars per hr for an 8 hours of work or if you really wanna use the 5 hour active time number you are making right around 14.2 dollars an hr. Door dash has its place to earn as your own boss, but to make any real money or even minimum wage is a struggle.
I'm using a bolt grabber software Programm by JEREMIHTECHZ to auto grab blocks to my suprise the bolt grabber is very sensitive in auto grabbing high paying orders now i'm making cool cash
No two dashes are the same, so taxes depend on your situation! DoorDash drivers are independent contractors, so gotta save some cash for federal and state taxes (taxes vary by state). A good rule of thumb is to set aside 25-30% of your earnings. But to be sure, talking to a tax pro who knows your state's tax laws is your best bet!
DoorDash still mentions on their website they offer a Free Welcome Gift which includes: - Hot bag - Red Card - Getting Started Manual Has anyone recently signed up and received it? Just curious!
Come to Canada specially GTA means Toronto neighborhood cities u start door dash with a happy mood🎉 and 😊😊at the end someone call 911 to save dasher life litterly people stop him from jumping into Niagara Falls u know why at the end when he calculated his earning then this happens driver told police I earn 70 doldollars police officer goodb u should happy than comes dasher 😢 he told in 70 i put 65 dollars for gas and when i go to deliver a order on the way back i noticed that my car look small in size when i checked 😊all my four tyres r invisible and i found😊 a slip of pa?paper somebody write a '.not on it that welcome to Ontario this is your tip 😂😂😊😂😂😂 hope do more hard work in your routine😊??
That's because too many people are dashing on one account. And people are selling their accounts to people who couldn't otherwise pass a background check. Or have a valid Driver's license.
It really depends on your area. I make $25 an hour easy, full time. Hell, today I was making $30 an hour for 7 hours. You need to app juggle. Uber Eats as a side to fish for orders going in the same direction and for having a order ready to go the moment you finish the one you're on. Downtime is your enemy.
Most won't last it'll be extremely temporary. Once people see there's not only slow days, there's slow weeks, and even slow seasons they typically quit.
Depends where you live and how you do it, if you hustle you can easy make 100+ a day any day period. But you'll make way more. If you live in a state capital of millions of ppl haha
Bro I been dashing for 6 months it’s slower now today I waited 1 hour before getting a order and I’m in the hot spots. Let’s be honest somedays are good like weekends Sat and Sundays. Dasher isn’t consistent. It’s horrific right now.
Aint no way im quitting my stable pay job for these gig apps aint gonna pay my bills so goodluck to you alk thinking these will pay your bills itll bring hell on you as i tried it

Oh snap you in Michigan too? My man! Good to see more fellow Michiganders on here when I do! Also some great tips man. I'm in the Redford area!
Michigan dasher here!! Southfield/Royal Oak area!! I average 26$ an hour whenever I dash!! It pays to know the tips!! Great Video!!
Thanks 👍

Think I'm gonna save this video. I'm looking into DD to help supplement our household, and this seems like an extremely informative video.
Glad it was helpful!
I'm a dasher in Michigan too! Lansing and Brighton are my areas.

If EVERY driver declined EVERY order under $2 per mile, the drivers would be in control. UNITE!
Great content., do you do your own editing and if you don’t mind me asking, what app do you use
They actually do not check your car insurance. They assume you have valid based on your vehicle plate and DL
Very concise and useful information. Thank you for sharing!😀

Detroit has bad tippers. I usually dash around 13 mile around Roseville and Saint Clair shores area

Good job reading off what you wrote down to say😂😂😂 great video tho I appreciate the tips
What about gas, depreciation, maintenance, etc. That $22,00 per hour is actually more like $10 to $11 per hour after figuring in your auto expenses.
so good
Very well made video, man. I hope your channel does well

1-1.5 per minute is pretty low
Acceptance rate doesn't matter FYI
Waiting on wait list since 5 months
How much do out away for taxes?

How to check delivery location before you accept an order...I just started 2 days ago.
For s9me phones you just tap the pin on the map over the offer. For others you can zoom in on the map to see where it’s going.
