Hey Vinny, lead artist on Cursed to Golf here, thank you for checking the game out and I'm really glad to hear you liked it! I've been a fan of you and your channel for years now and your Lets Plays and streams have gotten me through many long hours at work. Keep doing what you do and stay awesome!
watching vinny go from 8 to 2 shots left without moving the ball was incredible truly his complete lack of patience was doing him no favors in this game
@@deanc9195 yeaaa I used to watch his vids when I was like 8 lol but I watching stopped for a long time but started watching again in the last few years!
Watching the boss fight against the scotsman makes me realize theres so much multiplayer potential in a game like this. Imagine being able to compete against another player where you can stun each other when hitting idols. It would be incredibly fun and would produce more salt than mario kart and mario party combined.
Honestly, I know people are kinda starting to hate every major indie title needing to have roguelike or roguelite elements in it, but a competitive vs roguelike game would be neat, at least in theory
pvp for this does seem fun but I for sure wouldn't have stun idols, it'd only benefit first place because they can just grab them all while you're missing turns.
@@mercury5003 well sure it could be optional I'm just saying I don't see how it would ever benefit those behind unless first takes some sharp shortcuts. That or at least they randomly show up every turn so that some rng can be blamed.
Vinny needs to stop eating his risotto pesto lasagne prsciutto tortelli ravioli minestrone pizza while handling his controllers, it's not good for em. Makes the buttons S T I C K Y
Boy seeing Vin play this makes me want to play, and see Vinny play, the Mario Golf GBA game and do the career mode for it. Hell, even the GBA Mario Tennis one too, since those two games have pretty good career modes.
It doest say "part 1" so I'm worried he won't revisit this. I loved watching Vin play this. I sent him an email recommending this so I was hyped to see him play it, and super happy he liked it!
Ah yes, CursedToGolf, the planet on which, somehow, Emperor Palpatee-off has returned with his fleet of Par Destroyers that can be easily overwhelmed by a small group of Rebel caddies riding carts along their hulls No, I don't know why my brain is like this. Game looks cute and fun though, I'm surprised at how varied the courses and power-ups are, plus the character designs are pretty great
The scenes with the Scotsman reminded me again of how much I love Celtic instruments. It’s probably because I don’t play video games, but from what I have seen there really aren’t that many video games with soundtracks that are Celtic-inspired.
Vinny I had the same problem with my 8bitdo and it was the little pad in the controller behind the button. You can ask the company to send you a replacement for you to repair it.
i feel like 8bitdo's snes controller is well made it's just well made to the point where it sticks the exact same way an actual snes controller would have back in the day
I don’t see the “Part 1” on the title and haven’t watched the whole thing yet, but if he screws up around an hour or two into a round, then I can see that discouraging him from finishing the game. For being a rogue-like, runs in this game can be VERY long.
There's a ton of options for saving progress on where you are in the course, even quitting out. Eventually, after a certain point, you get the ability to checkpoint between holes as well other saving graces. The only thing is that you would have to commit to the holes once you start. I really do hope Vinny picks this up for a part 2, it's a very fun game.
@@steezles Yeah, I definitely didn’t do the entire run in one sitting, so the autosaves after each hole are really appreciated. The game is quite good, although I probably won’t come back to it for a while unless it gets updated, since there’s not much incentive to go for another round after successfully completing one (at least, as far as I know).
Vinny, in reference to the time-stop function: was that a jojo reference? me, with my jojo brainrot: oh the "outside of your club's range" bit? yeah maybe. Like Gold Experience's range is only two meters but the ball is a projectile so-
I will say this before watching i tried the game and it started strong but started to show it's flaws after a hour or so courses are to long and feel not great to play in not bad just not very good. I also felt like a course should be shorter 15 to 45 minutes a hole felt to long.
I have loved golf ever since I played Hot Shots Gold on PS1 for the first time, I've been addicted to it ever since! This game is so cute and admit it, you love golf too, it's the best! 😆
1:21:43 Vin, that would be like if, in Slay the Spire, defeating a boss gave you an alternate starting point. That's what you're saying. I mean, maybe that would be fine I guess. Enter the Gungeon has such a thing, but I'm unsure how many people use it on a normal run. Its just not that fun to do, but what would I know.
The difference is that in Slay the Spire and Gungeon you'll reasonably be able to complete most runs in 60-90 minutes tops. With this game it seems like one hole could be 40 minutes, and that's just too long for a game of this structure imo.
Nah Scottish golf master, definitely is evil. Guy runs a store and profits off of you, while “mentoring” you. Even If he doesn’t turn out to be a villain, he’s profiteering.
Never thought I'd hear Vinny say "was that a Jojo reference" but here we are (i never got why he gets so annoyed at that in chat btw, like people are just joking around about a thing they like, who cares) ((also why does the music in this go so hard))

based dinty enjoyer dev
Your spritework is impeccable. The shading and colors are perfect. It definitely has some of the prettiest pixel art ive seen in a game this year.
lets plays LMAOOO
1:44:40 - Not only is there Meat, but in the background it kind of looks like a Crocomire skull. Doubt it was intentional but it's pretty similar
Yeah sorry, that was just me drawing a random golf dinosaur skull :'D It would have been a great Crocomire reference though, you're right!
watching vinny go from 8 to 2 shots left without moving the ball was incredible
truly his complete lack of patience was doing him no favors in this game
I wasn't expecting the gift of Scottish FOV Vinny today, but I am very grateful to have it.
As someone who’s Scottish it’s really cool to get a good Scottish character in a game lol. Also Vinny your Scottish accents pretty good!
Amazed that there are multiple Scottish Vinny enjoyers
@@deanc9195 yeaaa I used to watch his vids when I was like 8 lol but I watching stopped for a long time but started watching again in the last few years!
Indie games are so fucking great holy shit. So many amazing projects out this year

@@PanSpaceman Thats actually a good point... maybe they could respawn? the map layouts would also have to be adapted for multiplayer as well.

16:07 lmao the time stop power's description is just "Dio?!"
Another golf game, another episode of "Overshooting the Ball with Power Drive Vinny".
I can't believe vinny was cursed to golf, this is terrible.
hey, at least he is trying
Fox... look at that. It's horrible!
36:09 For those who want a dopamine hit, you're welcome
Love the design of The Scotsman
16:34 Vinny saying Jojo and not Joseph is a weird and foreign concept to me.
Vinny recognising a jooj without chat was a little controlled shock
28:26 spoken like a true youtuber
Your vid made me buy this. Thanks for the quality content Beanboat!
6:06 Oh, rat farts!
16:07 you thought it was a golf game, but it was ME!
43:00 Spin man master his own power.
Accidentally bought this game instead of Cult of the Lamb on steam and kinda was mad over it but glad over finding such a fire game
I remember listening to Liam (the main developer from this) on Superbunnyhop's podcast. Glad he is getting places
Boy seeing Vin play this makes me want to play, and see Vinny play, the Mario Golf GBA game and do the career mode for it. Hell, even the GBA Mario Tennis one too, since those two games have pretty good career modes.
That game is so good.
This game looks *really* good.
I hope he plays more of this!
I love Vinny's bootleg Mike Myers scottish accent.
Holy fuck, I didn't notice the meat in 5 hours of playtime so far. If I had seen that before this video I would have lost my shit, that's awesome.
I hope these devs begin to think about multiplayer
It doest say "part 1" so I'm worried he won't revisit this. I loved watching Vin play this. I sent him an email recommending this so I was hyped to see him play it, and super happy he liked it!
Hoping to see more of this played Vinny, this game is something special
When the golf ball golfed all over the golf course that was really epic. (I am being held against my will to make the funny morbius joke)
this game is awesome, one of my more enjoyed indies vinny's tried recently
Thank you, Mr. Sauce. I have been eagerly anticipating this video.
Fuck yeah! This is a great game. Glad to see Vinny playing it. I bet Liam Edwards and Chuhai labs would be ecstatic to see Vinny picking this up.
Hoo boy, that last course was *way* too fucking long.

Wasn't there something about using spin to bounce over water? Vinbin skipped over all that LORE so I couldn't read it all
Vinny I had the same problem with my 8bitdo and it was the little pad in the controller behind the button. You can ask the company to send you a replacement for you to repair it.
Damn, I wish I could do 18 holes in one go...
If I remember correctly wasn't meat originally from a golf commercial? How fitting he's in a golf game.
WHAT A HORRIBLE NIGHT TO BE CURSED TO GOLF
WHAT was that noise at 1:40:22
the music has no right to be this good, oh my god
So, uh... Did he give up on Hypnagogia?
Or will he finish it a year from now like Joel did with Yume Nikki?
I'm loving the repurposed sound effects from Gunstar Heroes of all things
EDIT: Revenge of Shinobi too. Nice.
16:10 Chat went nuts here, didn't they?
Such a cool game. Love all the slapping indie games lately
Best golf game is Ribbit King, check it out!
Rougelike golf game: ...You got my attention
Has a Meat cameo: ...NOW you've got my interest.
Getting some real Snowflake's Chance vibes from that opening sequence of the player character descending into hell lmao
i feel like 8bitdo's snes controller is well made it's just well made to the point where it sticks the exact same way an actual snes controller would have back in the day
Its membranes and buttons are actually interchangeable with original SNES controllers, so you're right on the money.

Cool to see Vinny really committing to his games journalism
There's no checkpoints in cursed to stream. You can hit the meat statue though.
Is it golfi, were you are a robotic golf ball.
Nobody withholds SPEEN from Vinny.
He's a regular Johnny Joestar.
Limmy voice will never disappoint
Edit: the Scotsman has clearly never heard of 3wood out of the bunker
I need a part 2 BADLY

16:50 Ackchyually! It's not JoJo reference if DIO is not in all caps. 🤓🤓🤓🤓🤓🤓

Typical Cursed To Golf pipeline:
Try tutorial, struggle but pick up the basics
Do Hole 1, "Yeah I got this"
See Hole 2, "What the fuck"
I'm not usually into golf games but this actually looks really fun! I'll have to give this shot! (No pun intended)
there have been an odd amount of wacky indie golf games over the last few years.
Subtle comment added to match influence
2d golf is better than 3d
Don't have to worry about all those other pesky dimensions

The Scot voice made me curl up and die of cringe whenever he mangled it. Owie

wait a video where vinny might not spend 10 minutes bitching about square while still willingly paying them hundreds of dollars or more a year?
