In this video, I'm showing how to make a portable spot welder machine at home using super capacitors, i used 4x 6800uf/35v capacitors with bridge Rectifier & 9-0-9 Transformer, The best part is this spot welder can be directly powered up by Ac 220v.

Couldn't be more simpler and clearer than this!
You can do it simple without using transpormer and briagde rectafire, some diy like this is used 12v charger 1 or 2 capasitor,diode, and wire. Im also than doing it in a year ago take note to use diode if you will use 12v charger or other 12v supply to protect it from fly back of capasitor

1 this approach needs powerful thyristor for commutating capacitors in moment of welding to avoid sparkles and make welding of better quality.
2 you should pull off stripe by plyers until stripe will rip off from battery. If spots of welding will stay on battery can - then it's quality welding. Otherwise - no.

After testing this method all i got was scratches on the surface (of nickel strip with 0.15 mm thickness).
I used 6 capacitors 35 v and 4700mf.
If you looking for a mini spot welding machine for your project, this one will not give you any progress at all.
Thos spot welder will work well when using minimum 4x 6800 uf caps, also both probs should not short on nickle strip, one should on surface of cell and another on nickle strip, link i done in video, also this spot welder is just for minimal welding.

Interesting and nicely done, but soldering is not soldering, but pasting. Solder needs time to flow. With 'paste' you get bad connections.
Please check the design again because in practical capacitors position are different & in 3D animation that position is different so please confirm it if I'm wrong

buenas mi hermano como estas, me gusta tu proyecto pero tengo una pregunta perdona mi ignorancia ese diodo que colocaste de salida negativa de los filtros y lo colocaste a la salida negativa del cuadro de diodos que función hace porfa 👍👍
The diode i used on mosfets with reverse polarity, is actually a Recovery diode, that protects the mosfets from burning by continue turning on, with diode it discharges the fets and switchs them back to off position, when there is no pwm signal from 555 ic to gate of mosfets.

If KBP-307 rectifier bridge is not available in market then it is better to specify the alternative.

The circuit does not work with the 1N5408 diode. She doesn't belong there. You should simply connect the negative pole of the Gretz directly to the negative of the capacitor pack.

D2 1N5408 General purpose Diode is there for pass through to protect bridge Rectifier from fusing.
9-0-9 transformer can be used from 1-2 A
It is very useful and amazing video but need to specify transformer capacity ie 1amp or 2 amp required. Can i use KBL10- bridge rectifier DIODE 4A instead of kbp 307 bridge rectifier ? Thank you sir so much.
You can use any bridge rectifier above 1A, and transformer max 12v 1A, and more capacitor will weld more stong, but for professional and strong welding check out this new spot welder

It is used to limit current to 3A, if someone would have bigger transformer & high amp bridge rectifier.
This spot welder is for just home hack to spot weld not in professional applications.

Yes, you can use i used 9-0-9 v transformer because capacitors spot welders perform better with lower voltage but higher capacitance, so that it will store higher current with low voltage.

I connected the device according to your instructions, but it does not generate enough spark to puncture the battery strip. I put in parallel another such set of 4 capacitors of 6800 micro farads each and the device still cannot break through the tape and not make contact between the tape and the battery.

Nothing can happen to capacitors, but transformer will get heatup due to over load

1000uf capacitor us not enough to make welds. You need to use higher uf capacitors with less voltage for best welds

I think it is to protect the transformer, because when you making spot you are making short circuit in whole circuit.

2200uf would need even more, you can use 6800uf or higher & voltage minimum 16v rated

Yes zero is actually half, in 9-0-9 Transformer 9&0 wire will give 9v but using 9&9 wire will give 18v output

If you've got your PCB than same size capacitor must be used. 1 Farad will be bigger.
